BEWARE ABOUT PARKING! I was extremely upset that I was not informed that this hotel doesn't offer on-site self-parking or valet. I drove around the block of the downtown building three times, trying to find the parking lot or valet stand in the rain during rush hour until I called and was informed that there is no parking and to use the public garage off-site; two blocks away. Being unfamiliar with the city, I unfortunately parked in the wrong garage, even further away, and had to haul multiple heavy bags to the hotel in the pouring rain, four blocks away. The unacceptable parking situation was not disclosed in any of my reservation emails, and I did not receive a courtesy call/message before my arrival informing me where I should park my car. Not knowing this information ahead of time made my welcoming stay extremely unpleasant, especially when it was pouring rain and I had dinner reservations right after I checked in. I now understand that the hotel does disclose the off-site parking, buried in the app under "what to expect", then tapping "parking & transit," then tapping "parking." Even with this, the hotel doesn't share detailed parking information. As this is very uncommon, for a hotel not to have parking or valet, this hotel needs to be upfront about it on the reservation page and send emails, calls/messages informing guests before their arrival. Not to mention, from the nearest garage, you need to walk down a dark stone/brick alleyway, which is not fun/safe, especially at night, as it's an uneven surface on both the street and the tiny sidewalk. Iv never stayed at a hotel that didn't have on-site self or valet parking available. If I had known this, I would have never booked this hotel as I needed quick (and dry) access to my car. On the bright side, the room was clean & comfortable, even with the small entryway, which made bringing in multiple big bags a bit annoying.

Very noisy with poor soundproofing right next to huge motorway. $28 offsite parking a few blocks away, no security at this place. Hotel looks recently refurbished in general but cleanliness could be improved, there was a lot of dust in every corner even if most surfaces were cleaned and the bed linens were clean. When requesting a crib for an infant, which we had confirmed in advance existed, we got an unopened box with a foldable crib which we were expected to unpack and assemble by ourselves. Electricity plug socket not securely attached to the wall creating hazard for children. A lot of really friendly body builders hang out in the hotel.

Update: The hotel is still fairly clean, but I noticed a bit of wear and tear that wasn't evident last time, and the place is definitely a bit understaffed. Otherwise, everything I said before still holds true--good value, walkable location, parking nearby. Original review: This place is very clean with a great, friendly staff. Parking is not a difficult as others have said--there are a few spots directly in front of the hotel, which are free after 6 pm, and a parking garage two blocks away (go straight through the alley next to the hotel), which is $10/day on weekends. They have an in-out arrangement with a nearby garage, too. The river views are great and there's a nice little balcony with seats off the dining area on the second floor. It's perfect for unwinding after a long day. Last, but certainly not least, this hotel is crazy walkable. You're right in the heart of everything. With that said, if I were here for work, I'd probably pick the Renaissance or another Marriott with a better gym.

Housekeeping stole a pair of my earrings. Management at first seemed very apologetic and asked for a picture of the earrings so they could check and get back to me. I tried to reach back out to them to learn what happened but they never bothered to get back to me.

Enjoyed this hotel very much. 1 mile from Heinz field. A few blocks from downtown Pittsburgh and awesome blow dryers! Yup I said it. Beds were very comfortable. Will be back definitely

The beds were great, honestly yo best beds I have ever slept on at a hotel. We had one thing where the room next to us was blasting music at 2am, called the the front desk, and they took care of it asap. Would recommend the hotel, it was a little hard to find at night when we first came in, but not to bad.

The room was very nice, and the hotel was in a great location. The parking lot was a couple of blocks away. Two parking garages right next to each other. A little confusing as far as which one to use.

The rooms are on the smaller side. We had our bicycles with us which made it seem very cramped. The hallways are on the narrow side which also did not help. Breakfast was the normal fare that is usually found at hotels of this caliber. We were on the 6th floor well away from the elevators and we had a nice quiet night of sleep. We would stay here again.

Modern, updated, and reasonably priced. Of note to cyclists, the elevators are big (fits two bikes easily) and the location is just about perfect: right on the GAP trail, one block from the First Ave Garage (also on the GAP trail and good place to leave your car). The hot breakfast is fabulous – the best we’ve had in years - and the breakfast room has a good view of the Monongahela river and some of Pittsburgh’s colorful bridges.

Great location with a great view of a river. Clean and up to date rooms. The breakfast was decent as well. Not many cheap parking options. They only provide valet which is pricey but I found a public parking garage within walking distance that was much more affordable.

My husband and I stayed one night. There is no on-site parking, which we didn't know. We had to park in a garage about 2 blocks away from the hotel. During the day, it wasn't a problem. At night, I didn't feel safe. The front desk clerk was very moody and short with every guest that she encountered. Once in our room, I noticed that the shower had mold in it, and someone had left a pair of something behind in the bathroom under the sink. I know that things are easy to miss when trying to clean, BUT if I noticed it, then housekeeping should have noticed it too. Breakfast the next morning was ok, but the room was freezing, so my hot food ended up cold before I could eat it. Every Fairfield I've stayed at, I've liked. But this one left a lot to be desired.

Decent hotel for the price! Near downtown, service is quick and easy, plus the hotel is very quiet. My main complaint is that there isn’t onsite parking and we probably unnecessarily paid for the valet service. The pet-friendly room we stayed in with our dog also had a strange smell (probably from previous pet accidents). Perfectly fine if you’re staying for one night but definitely do more research on parking options than we did.

Nice hotel room, but Check- In and Checkout were complete mess. New hotel with antiquated computer systems. Took 20 minutes and 2 calls to the main office number to get me checked in, even though they had already charged my Credit Card. They were able to charge my card but had wrong address for me in there local system, but corporate must have had correct address since they charged me for room. Checking out was worse, valet was short staffed, and took over half an hour to get my car. Yet they charged full price service. There are better hotels in the area. Stay at your own risk!

First downfall is the NO parking but to make it worse the parking garage is like 2 blocks over. Insult to injury YOU get to pay for the parking garage $28 a day! And you have to walk down a dark alley to get to the hotel. The stairwell to the parking garage smells like urine. The staff really doesn’t care and offers no help/solution/sympathy. Really disappointed in the hotel, location and the city itself. Next let’s talk about the free breakfast. Weekend you have to be there before 930 and weekday before 900. Otherwise you won’t be getting any from the hotel. Stairs in the hotel and parts of the hallway were super creaky and parts felt like they were sinking in. Nothing special or exciting about the room or stay. The ONLY good thing was we had an ok view of the city across the river ( half a view anyway) Now let’s talk about the super loud construction noises at like 2-3am. We were so dissatisfied we left 2 days early. This hotel/chain is supposed to be a nicer one but reminds me of no more than a trashy Super 8. We also saw someone who got shot laying on the ground right next to our parking garage that WE had to pay for, along with all the cops, ambulance, blood and chaos.

Just as expected. Clean & comfortable. Breakfast was a bit of a cluster, but that's not a surprise. A solid budget hotel for downtown Pittsburgh.

They don’t have sound proof windows. Room is extremely loud. Also no black out curtains. Cleanliness could be improved. On the positive side- the view from the hotel is really nice

They do not inform clients of the absence of parking in the premises. 28 dls pet night to park your car. No room cleaning everyday!!! They clean rooms every other day; i had to sleep in an unclean room one night. I wont come back to this hotel.

The hotel was great. Staff super nice and friendly. Only thing is the parking is about a 2 min walk away. Not a big deal in the summer but horrible in the winter.

Great spot with a cool view and a great deal. We park in the First Avenue Garage since it is inexpensive and has EV charging. Just a few blocks walk. Easy unloading zone directly in front of the hotel to make the walk super simple.

The TV in our room had a small oval chip in the center. It made a small bright white light in the picture. (The video attached doesn't do justice to the brightness.) You couldn't not look at it. Watching football it had the illusion of a flying light when camera panned. We reported it 9p when we discovered it. Nothing was done. 10a the next day asked what is being done. No maintenance or employee ever came to look at it. You'd think if I reported a cracked TV screen someone would want to see it ... unless maybe they already knew what it was? At check out, the manager (Dana) offered $50 off a $240 night. She said "You could still watch it." How is a room with a cracked TV screen causing a small bright light worth $190. That's what you'd expect at a Days Inn or lower. If they said we have no more rooms for $240, but we have a room with a small bright light in the middle of the TV screen for $190, we'd have said no way. The hotel slogan is "If you're not satisfied tell us, we'll make it right." That's not what they did for me. I'm waiting for a call from the general manager that the manager said would call.
