I’ve decided $ for $ this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Got a great deal and think we were in the lowest priced room which was absolutely *lovely* - trendy nice decor but still practical. Happy hr drinks were great, the restaurant breakfast is great - it’s a nice restaurant anyway. Location is perfect for discovering the city too. Special shout out to the reception staff who were always friendly despite high volume of guests and got us into a room early off a red eye flight - if we’re in Pittsburgh again, no debate we will be staying here again!

Here’s a gem of advice: before any hotel booking, look at HoteIDuIIy.cᴏm It’s a game changer. We came for the weekend and right from valet to us checking out it was great! The restaurant downstairs has a low lit comfortable atmosphere with great food morning and night. The decor is eclectic but whoever did it, pulled it together! The hotel is pet friendly so if that’s an issue request a room that is on a non-pet floor, although we didn’t see a pet this weekend. The free wine from 5-6 was also a very nice touch :) Lastly the location is close to many cafes and restaurants and the river.

Loved this hotel. Our stay was very relaxing. The front desk staff was accommodating and very friendly. They had everything we needed plus more! We asked for a coffee pot, a fan, and a hairdryer all that were bought up to our room. The commoner restaurant was delicious for dinner. Staff there were also lovely. We will come back to stay next time we are in Pittsburgh! Thank you Kimpton!

Stayed for 2 nights, and our suite exceeded our expectations. The suite was a lot larger than expected, at a reasonable price point. Pros: - Staff was friendly and professional. - Valet service was streamlined and always had our car ready within a reasonable time. - The Commoner restaurant serves tasty food! - Location is easily accessible and within walking distance to several top-rated restaurants - The only downside...we were promised a bed for our furbaby, but it never arrived to our room as promised :( We look forward to staying here again!

My husband surprised me with a weekend trip in Downtown for my birthday last January and this is where we stayed. This hotel is beautiful and elegant with a modern/quirky flare. It's not my typical style but it was a nice change. I loved all the different patterns/textures used. The price is on the higher side but it is a very nice place to stay. We had a King room and it was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and they even had robes in the closet! It's a pet friendly hotel and they also offer pet packages for your fur baby if for some reason you forgot anything! They have beds and bowls available for rent for the length of your stay. They also included some treats. It was a nice thought. The decor in the room was awesome and unique. My only complaint and the reason it didn't get a full 5 stars is because the thermostat is locked and can't be turned down past 67 if I remember correctly? For some, this might not be an issue but for us it is because we sleep very hot and we like our rooms cold at night. We called down and asked if we could change it but they said no. However, they did offer us a fan for the room which was nice but for the money you pay to stay here, I think you should have full control on your room temp. I'm not sure if the locked thermostat is an everyday thing or just in the winter time? The location of this hotel is perfect in my opinion. One of my other surprises was dinner at Ruth's Chris which was only a few blocks away so we were able to walk. We actually didn't get our car out of Valet for the entire weekend because of how close it is to so many things. We walked down to the strip, PPG place, the Cultural District and all around and just enjoyed the many restaurants and bars. Also, The restaurant downstairs in the hotel, The Commoner, was amazing and we just had drinks! After a night of walking around and bar hopping we decided to end our night with a nightcap at the bar before we went up to the room. My favorite drink is a Whiskey Sour and I will tell you they made one that was unlike any other. It was phenomenal. I've heard great things about the food and we will have to go back and try it.

We have always stayed in a suite at the Wyndham Pittsburgh but because that hotel has become a little tired and in need of renovation, we wanted to try another dog-friendly hotel in the same area. There weren't many photos of the rooms on the Kimpton website, but the feel seemed modern and they had an entire page dedicated to their declaration of being pet-friendly. I liked that part right away because most hotels hide their pet policies on a hard-to-find page. We stayed in Room 834, a larger corner room with two queen beds far away from the elevator. It was clean and spacious. Inside the closet: two robes, iron, ironing board, umbrella, yoga mat, and a safe. There was no plastic laundry bag. The amenities in the bathroom were fairly standard but they did leave a placard saying to reach out to them if you needed anything. We wanted to test that and asked for some lip balm to be sent up. They did so in ten minutes! The desk phone didn't work but who cares when you have a cell phone. The beds were clean and firm. There was adequate lighting throughout the space. The tv was small and tucked away in an armoir. No keurig machine nor bottles of water offered. We found that odd for a four-star hotel. The room temperature when we arrived was 67 degrees. We tried changing the thermostat but nothing worked. We called down and they sent someone up very quickly. They did something and we put the temperature to 80. Twenty minutes later, we were still sitting in 67 degrees and called down again. The same maintenance person came by and changed the filter. That worked! They offer valet for $42 a night but we ended up parking kitty corner from the hotel for $14/night. Everyone working in the hotel was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again in the same type of room. They should offer QR codes or the like for customers to tip staff for excellent service. I felt bad I forgot to bring cash...

The hotel itself is very nice. The room was clean. Hotel does need need to have a better and safer security system. Stayed here for an event during the weekend. Three random man that clearly looked like they did not belong in any of the events nor looked like they were staying in the hotel managed to get into the hotel and stole the bride’s and groom’s gift. Beware of random people trying to blend in. People from another ball/conference room kept coming into the wedding room I was in to get free drinks and food. There was no management in sight what so ever the whole time I was in the wedding (5-11pm)

A great hotel. Beautiful decor throughout the hotel. We booked a king corner room which was very well laid out, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping attended every morning and made up the room and replenished used items. The hotel had complementary tea and coffee in the lounge every morning, there was also complementary alcoholic drinks in the lounge between 5 & 6pm each evening. Very enjoyable. We found all the staff pleasant and approachable. We would recommend the Kimpton Hotel Monaco to anyone planning to stay in Pittsburgh.

Overall a really pretty and nice hotel with a good location - very eclectic and somewhat odd decor but if you’re in to that sort of thing, then I guess it’s cool ? We stayed in a suite with our kiddos and it was nice to all be in one large room, but the walls seemed paper thin (we could hear every door that was opened and closed in the hallway), and the pipes were pretty loud throughout the night, too. So, bring a noise machine! Plus, for such a nice hotel… the pull-out couch’s mattress looked like it was either 20 years old or picked up on a street corner somewhere. Super thin and literally tattered and dirty looking. Maybe spend less on the random decor and more on the actual usable amenities ? Service was great though and the staff was super helpful.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel- from the lobby to living room to the guest room (i fell in love with the green headboard). But the front desk & valet made the whole experience! Most kind, sincere, caring and helpful people. Dante’, who works valet, was so sweet & gave me recommendations for where to go for cocktails. And even checked to make sure I made it back safely. 10/10 highly recommend. I will definitely be back! Thank you Hotel Monaco for making my first time in Pittsburgh so wonderful! ♥️

Service, cleanliness, and most of all comfort. This hotel will provide you with all three, not to mention the perfect location. The staff makes it very easy and very clear they are there for you. The valet said it could take up to 15 minutes to get your vehicle ready but usually just 5. The room was very clean and comfortable. The artwork in your room, and throughout the hotel makes it feel homey. The hotel resteraunt food was very well made and very delicious. Me and my wife travel a lot and we are picky about hotels. We had absolutely no complaints here. It's worth it!

I had a conference at the convention center and this classy hotel was the closest I could get on short notice. The personnel, from the valet to the restaurant hostess were all very professional and friendly. My room was a single bed, which I requested, on the 5th floor, was spacious and clean. The view from my window is of the back of a historic church and a few newer and very tall buildings that surround it. I don't know if the hotel was full but I did not hear noises from other rooms so I slept soundly. I loved the eclectic decor but have just one issue...I do not care for the shower. I prefer a fully enclosed shower and this one is partially closed which means water gets on the bathroom floor. I also prefer hot steamy showers but with a partial closure that is not possible. Besides that, the bathroom is beautiful and I enjoyed this stay.

Walking into this hotel and encountering the friendly faces of Grace and Trevor made our night. My daughter and I are in town to visit Point Park University and I cannot say enough about how helpful and nice these guys were. On top of that the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and gorgeous. Whenever we are back in town we will definitely stay here again! Amazing service and location! What a treat!

Staff was perfect! Decor was well done! However room service was extremely odd. The food came in a bag and cardboard packaging. We had a larger room and still only one person had a place to eat on a reasonable surface (desk). Definitely not what you would expect by the quality of everything else. This needs addressed.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while visiting from Ohio. We wanted to stay at a nicer hotel that was nearby food options and the PPG Paints Arena. The Kimpton Hotel did not disappoint! The decor is unique, fun, and almost whimsical. ✨️ Checking in/out was simple and our room was comfortable. The complimentary tea and coffee was a nice addition so we could just grab and go. ☕️ We didn't have breakfast or dinner at the restaurant in the hotel but the place looked very nice and upscale. I would definitely book here again if we were to visit Pittsburgh again. ✅️

As a business trip, this was a great place to stay and walkable to many restaurants. The room was clean, and the staff were incredible. Mira at the front desk and Trevor with bellhop were absolutely fantastic — during the last night of my stay, I got food poisoning (not from the hotel restaurant!) , and throughout the next day, Mira was incredibly helpful with adjusting my arrangements to stay another night until I felt better. Trevor delivered several items (Uber eats orders, waters, etc.) to my door as well. As awful as my situation was, the service was fantastic and more than accommodating.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We so enjoyed our stay and staff made it very special. Grace in particular was so kind, helpful, and accomodating and you can tell it really is her pleasure to make guests happy. Very genuine, very professional. Coffee makers should be standard in the room, not by request. Coffee is essential. Overall a fabulous stay.

Checked into this hotel last night and it is wonderful! Arrived late, around midnight, and was so relieved there was a person at the front desk, Miles, who is so welcoming and knowledgeable. Let us know about what's available in the hotel and around the hotel, and, when I realized I had forgotten to pack make-up remover, very generously provided towelettes. While the rooms are huge and the bed is extremely comfortable, this hotel is stellar because of people like Miles. The more I travel, the more I believe it is not the amenities or location that make a hotel special, it is human beings who are smart, kind, helpful, and personable. Thank You Miles!! Adding to this review because I just spent 4 nights at the hotel and my stay got better and better every day: Rob and Robbie were the friendly and amiable duo who took care of us during the special 5pm-hour that the hotel offers guests... and at check out Grace was very thoughtful and courteous, while Nate took care of luggage. My interaction with Grace was a highlight because she has such a deep knowledge of the arts and culture, and we had a great conversation about the value of arts education (I was staying at the hotel to attend a dance festival at Point Park University). Again, the rooms are wonderful, the hotel is ideally situated close to the university, but it's the people working there who make Hotel Monaco a gem!

Don't forget to use Hoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. This web site will compare countless hotel sites and usually will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't regret it. Longtime fan of the Kimpton Brand and this experience was as unique as the hotel. The hotel has adapted itself into this historic building and has done a phenomenal job. Stephanie at the front desk was great at check in. The room product is clean, swanky, and a nice place to relax.

The staff was great. The hotel and room were very well kept. The bird theme was prevalent in the rooms and common areas. The concept was a little strange with a giant bird cage light by the bed, but I understand the theme. Overall, it was a nice stay and fantastic staff, from valet to front desk.

Had a pretty restful stay here, but two things bothered me. 1) the lack of a shower door pours water onto the bathroom floor, which also made the carpet outside the bathroom wet. This is not sustainable and leaves an odor. 2) The Biergarten wasn’t open until Wednesday. It would have been nice to enjoy that space. Otherwise it was a great experience.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous!!! Our room was super clean and beautiful. They provide bicycles which we took full advantage of. The employees were super helpful and nice, especially Julie who works front desk. She went above & beyond for us. Kudos⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stayed here for two nights. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Pittsburg. They have a restaurant which has good food and well priced. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made sure you were comfortable and addressed all your needs. They offer complimentary coffee and evening drinks (wine or beer). They provide in room complementary package. The room was big and comfortable. The architecture was little old for my taste. A very good hotel overall.

Such a fun and quirky hotel! The decor gives punk rock meets eclectic traveler vibes, and it’s amazing. Gave 4 stars for the location because it can be a pain to get to during rush hour, and it’s located next to a church that chimes the hours on it’s bell, but if you have plans in the city than it can be really convenient. The valet was also super friendly and helpful. Def check it out if you want a cool vacay vibe during your stay

I’m really torn on this review. I want to give five stars but I cannot for three reasons. The bad is a spring mattress with no padding. It is not a five star bed. The hotel is starting to be run down which you can see from the elevators and paint in the hallway. There is either dust or mold in the lobby and library. My friend and I tried to enjoy wine there twice but we kept having allergy problems. The good part is the staff and the shower in the spa suite. The room was spotless, almost everyone in the staff was great (one person made a comment we shouldn’t be on the elevator in the right corner because it is service, but it it came when we called and it is with the other three abd not marked service). Be ready for tacky decor. The window curtains are chef pant prints, the lights are in birdcages and the library chandeliers are chicken feet. They went for trendy and ended up with a horror movie where the theme is murderous chef.

This is a fantastic place to stay if Pittsburgh. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Typically I can't wait to get home, but I really wanted to stay longer. Great staff/service, rooms, location and breakfast at the restaurant. Shoutout to Alejandra (spelling?) at the front desk for the awesome start to our trip.

My husband and I cannot say enough nice things about Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh! We had our wedding there in August of 2022 and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. You cannot beat the beautiful space, amazing food, modern amenities, and one-of-a-kind rooftop area. The staff went out of their way to make sure all of our requests were fulfilled and they were truly went above and beyond - especially because of their amazing coordinator, Lindsey! As an LGBTQ+ couple, we felt welcomed from the very beginning and loved every minute of our experience with Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh!

Beautiful hotel, but just not practical in some ways. There is no microwave in the room, the fridge is big enough for 4 - 5 bottles of water and that’s it. Don’t plan to put actual food in the fridge unless you cram your food into the freezer and even then, I literally mean cram it in (like one sandwich ). There is one elevator area and when it’s busy you can wait for awhile. The elevators are so small you can fit 4 people inside. Maybe more if the people are children. Did not like the vibe of the roof top bar at all. I’m not even sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or not, but there was no actual bar to sit at and there was no hostess to seat us at a table, so we left. I saw no staff at all actually. Maybe they were just short staffed that particular night. I’m not sure. Anyway, we walked a few blocks and found several bars and nightlife areas. Also, the selection of snacks behind the counter was small. So if you get hungry you have to order from the restaurant and they have a small selection of food as well. My burger was $17. It was great…. But not $17 great. It came with no condiments, no napkins, no salt/pepper, no tray, no utensils (ordered other food and needed utensils). Also, there was no coffee maker in the room but the front desk said we could order one. However, I decided not to after the food service experience. I missed the complementary coffee early in the morning and was expecting a coffee bar that I could use whenever I needed like many hotels offer , but there was none. Also, the second time we ordered food service, the same thing happened…. No condiments , no napkins, no salt/pepper, etc. The pros: front desk staff was friendly, bathroom was clean, the soap/shampoo/conditioner smelled amazing. Hair dryer was the fastest and best working hair dryer I’ve ever used. Lots of towels in bathroom. Bathroom also had q tips which is a plus because I always forget those when I pack. Room was clean. And the hotel is decorated beautifully. Also, it’s a nice location because there are so many restaurants and so much nightlife within walking distance…. Many to chose from whether you want cheap and easy food or something pricier. The bed was comfortable … the pillows not so much. But I have never stayed in a hotel that had comfortable pillows, so that’s to be expected. The closet was roomy and provided a small safe and a bathrobe. The shower actually got hot which was great, because many hotels have the water temp capped at a certain level and I’ve always hated that since I like hot showers after I’ve had to walk a lot. There is also a pull out makeup mirror in the bathroom which is perfect. Counter space in hotel bathrooms is often limited and the lighting is often not great…. So having a magnifying mirror to use for applying makeup is awesome. The reason I’m not giving four or more stars is due to the coffee/fridge/microwave situation.

A microwave, a small fridge, or perhaps small couch would’ve been nice in the room we got (it was the one with a king bed and Mellon Square Park view). Certain amenities like these that we’ve come to expect in more mainstream hotels like the Marriott are lacking, but believe it or not the Kimpton does more than compensate for this with aesthetic, accommodation, and splendid customer service. Are there any other pet-friendly hotels in the area? If there are, I’m sure they’re pretty scarce. Their restaurant The Commoner blew us away. Their shoestring fries, mac n’ cheese, and roasted chicken were phenomenal. We couldn’t have picked a better hotel to stay at on the weekend of our engagement. Grace at the front desk even arranged for a bunch of white rose pedals to be laid out on the way to our bed after we got back from the proposal dinner.
