This is the oldest County Museum in Ireland and in one of the oldest buildings. But, it is very modern and well kept. One of the oldest items in the museum is an ancient pot going back thousands of years. The curator and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. There was a tea and biscuits for the opening of the historic lace exhibit the day we visited. The museum is free of charge and accepts donations. The gift shop is very nice as well.

Great little county museum in Armagh city and beside the Mall. It's got a bit of everything from Neolithic, Viking, local art and costume through the recent centuries. At the moment, there's a small exhibition about the beginning of Partition and the creation of Northern Ireland. The museum is located on two floors, has toilets, a lift and a shop. The staff are pleasant and very knowledgeable. There's plenty of free parking beside the museum.

Nice experience looking through the history and the historical items located within in museum. Was very fascinated by the human skulls and ancient artifacts from the Armagh area. Local history in our back gardens. Armagh County museum also hold a lot of event throughout the year. On a last minuet visit with friends we visited while an owl exhibition was on. It was great to be able to meet different breeds of owls and hold them. Very interesting place!

The museum has a wealth of pieces on display from many distinct eras. The building itself is equally important and impressive, as the oldest county museum in Ireland opened in 1937, the architectural work on the outside of the building is absolutely worth the visit, in and of itself.

Was a wonderful and delicate local museum, mixed with nature, art and history. One of the best museums in north Ireland. Hope the gift shop have more local arts from local artists to sell.

Fantastic local museum that has lots of history for all ages from the local area. Everything from Neolithic period to the 1798 rebellion and upwards. Has natural history too, with local finds. Found out it has the 5th largest collection of historic artifacts in Ireland. Definitely worth a visit.

I loved Armagh County Museum. It's right in the centre of Armagh, it's free of charge, and the staff working there were both knowledgeable and friendly. You will find a selection of local artefacts, ranging from prehistoric axes, swords and statues to mysterious crotals, and from Saint Bridget's Crosses to containers for bog butter, and much more. Highly recommend!

A very small museum - in the centre of the city..still worth seeing in passing. Free in - a small room down stairs and main area on 1st floor. Would possibly take round 30 mins to see it full. Do not go expecting a full museum experience! We seen some school kids in for a trip...which is good to see and I can see why this location would be perfect for local schools to visit.

Free entry to a small yet good museum. Younger family members really enjoyed the opportunity to dress up in old styles of dress and there were also colouring in sheets to keep them amused while adults enjoy the displays

Another hidden treasure in the heart of this wonderful city, on the Mall. Do go in, entry is free and there is so much to see and so much information on old Armagh. From very helpful curators to amazing contents on every aspect of Armagh and surroundings, it is very easy to spend a couple of hours browsing and delighting in the very well laid out exhibits. Don't miss this.....
