Was in the star of indian again tonight and as ever the food was superb and the service second to none. As the song says simply the best 😀 Always great service and food. I see another award has been won by Daz and the staff, well done folks. It remains my favourite restaurant in the town. I just noticed another away for 2019 Just had my first india post the Covid-19 events. The Star of India was an good as ever. Well done Daz and the team! Still the best in 2020 In tonight (3rd Mar. 2023), was chatting to Daz, in great form. food was fabulous as per normal aloo chat and the Naganji was amazing. best peswari in NI. a must for all loves of award wining india food Back tonight, as good as every 7th Nov 2023. Bombay potatoes were out of this world

They overcharge here so be careful when looking at the bill. I ordered 4 meals which I estimate according to menu should have been around £55, I was shocked to see they charged me £96.As much as I enjoy Indian food I won't be back.So 1 coke, bottle of tap water, 2 Nan breads and poppadums cost £40 absolute robbery.

Although the food is nice, the portions are small and it’s very expensive. I ordered 2 mains with rice and bread and a starter and it came to £30! They did not provide salad with the starter and they never give complimentary popadoms if you spend over any amount. This is downright ignorant. If the customer is spending £30, you give free popadoms and dip. That is the second time I have spent around this price and I have not gotten free popadoms. I won’t come back to your establishment.

Great Indian restaurant/ takeaway in the centre of Portadown. Ample car parking in the surrounding area. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Prices are reasonable and you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer if you desire. There's a number of bars close by if you wish to make an evening of if. 5 stars from me.👍

The food was decent but the staff was terrible. They closed at 11pm but they brought is the bill and started flickering the lights at 10:15pm. The bill was all abbreviated so there was no way for us to tell what we were paying for. We expected the bill to be €70 but it was €125. Steer clear.

Food was great but the service was awful. One waiter doing all the work while 8 others stood behind the bar. There’s a sign that says 10% off your bill when paying cash but when paying we were advised it was for take out customers only.

Nice clean premises, food was tasty and piping hot. Staff friendly and attentive. My only criticism is the portions are slightly smaller than most. Well worth a visit though and will go again.

My favourite Indian take away/restaurant in Portadown. Never fails to provide wonderful food. My latest carryout didn't disappoint, absoulety delicious.. Railway Lamb, Chicken Ceylon and Chicken Tikka Masala, all perfect.

Have usually enjoyed the food here. Unfortunately takeaway very poor. Just about edible. Not authentic. Expensive, inadequate portions. No salad, pickle or onions with poppadoms. Chef off on a Sunday?

The food is tasty.... can't fault it... HOWEVER... 7 small cubes of chicken in a container full to brim of sauce is just unacceptable for the price. Star of India has been out 1st choice for years but I will try elsewhere... its not good enough anymore for the price u pay for what u get.. 😕

Over priced, popadoms not free, 10% due to inflation, cash only, small meal portions and the list goes on. Top blade is just around the corner, you can get 2 main meals, excellent service, 3 quid for every side, wine tasting. And Jesus wept all for under a 100 quid. Take my money just take it...

I made a reservation turned up to be told it will be a while I then asked again after waiting about 10 minutes to be pointed at a table and told it’s over there. We then waited some time to be asked had we ordered. We gave our order and asked for two drinks which never appeared. The food came after a long wait we again asked for the drinks and had to ask for glasses to drink out of. Whilst eating our dinner the female manager (I take her to be) started to lift empty dishes reached across my husband whilst eating without an excuse me or anything. This is totally rude and the height of bad manners. Not once whilst dining were we asked if everything was ok or could we get you anything else. It seemed to be if the proprietors new you then you were looked after but as we were not known the didn’t care. Very bad customer service!!! I myself have worked in an Indian restaurant for several years and would never dream of not looking after my customers should I have never seen them or if they were regulars. Always would I have engaged with each table making sure all clientele were treated the same. Think some lessons would need to be learned at star of India
