Been going here a good few years on off had good food out of it every time the service has always been good and friendly until today asked for chips with the food we got only to be told by the owner we couldn’t have them and to make matters worse he was as cheeky with his answer saying we don’t do chips till after 11am I pointed out that it was 11:30am he just said we don’t do them this early very very cheeky and arrogant,my advice now as a Costomer is stay away from here so his bad mood isn’t taken out on you or your loved ones

Family run, traditional fayre. Cheap and cheerful. Always busy you can sit in or takeaway as well as traditional chip shop next door

Had the chicken dinner with carrot and cabbage with gravy. Lovely chicken but got a hair in my cabbage

A simple restaurant serving excellent food a family run place with reasonable prices. We had the Ulster fry then apple tart with custard delicious 🙂

Gainers is one of those place's where if you don't know where to look and your not local your likely to miss it. Situated in a small walk alley behind the main church in portadown town center were the war memories are located One of the hidden gem's of portadown. There food and service is exceptional as well as the atmosphere is good as well. If you ever hear the song lyrics were everyone knows your name thats Gainers as half the revilers there from around the town seem to know each other and that just adds to the atmosphere.

Great local food service will be back soon.

Gaynors in poradown has the best fish chips and Breakfast we were there with our we club staff friendly and served us very quick

Great to still have a great traditional cafe serving real traditional fish and chips, Ulster fry and lunches. I highly recommend it.

Exactly wot you need lovely fry with a real portion of proper chippy chips some salt n vinegar and a wee pot of tea . Great for breakfast very reasonable we always make it on our stop wen wrkin portadown Danny & Brian

I remember Gaynors in the 80s and 90s and their fish and chips haven't changed a bit over the years, consistency is a rare thing these days, succulent fish with just the right amount of moistness and batter, the chips are delicious too, you can always tell it's a successful family run business going by the popularity throughout the years in Portadown. Keep up the great work.

Very much a hit or miss. The food quality is variable at best and lacks any sort of consistency or pride. It's not bad though for something to eat on a cold day for a reasonable price.
