Regretfully, my visit on 22 Jan was the exact opposite of any other past experience. Reasons for this: 1) a dreadful exhibition on the entire first floor titled "La cuisse de Marcel." Terrible display, a shame really. 2) far too many gardians, overwhelming the visitor at every step, no room for personal space or even breathing. A wonderful historic building. A wonderful courtyard with beautiful staircases, decorations and a wonderful facade. A must visit!

A really nice place to visit and amazing things to see for this it deserves 5 stars but I give it only 3 stars because it is not that welcoming. The gates are almost all the time closed, no signs to guide you to the entrance, no signs to show the open and close time of the museum, not enough marketing. If I were a tourist I would most certainly skip it because of lack of information and publicity, which is a shame.

Very small museum with very few pieces. Mostly portraits.

Good museum in a wonderful looking small palace, well curated with plenty of background and explanations in Romanian, a bit dark and stuffy but totally worth the entrance fee, one of the best sites of the city

A place worth seen not only for the paintings, but also for the interior and exterior architecture of this very beautiful building!
