I am a Chinese who loves and knows dumplings. I like the dumpling and the seating at DUMPLING de CHEF. If only regional areas have more Chinese restaurants as good as this one, then people in regional area would understand, accept and enjoy Chinese culture much more quickly. I don't blame locals in regional areas hold some kinda bias towards China and Chinese since I tried Chinese restaurants in the areas of west gippslands.

Small family owned & operated business. Food is very tasty...I had the special fried rice & can say that it is in the top 5 best that I have eaten. Their dumplings are always awesome. They care about their customer feedback as well. Priced very reasonable & good potion size ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had the beef dumplings 😋 🤪 😍 very more ish. It is dog friendly, although I never asked, it's advertised as dog friendly. I would reckon if you have a dog, you would eat alfresco? Could be wrong on the alfresco part. it might be the whole restaurant 🤔.

Love the dumplings, wish they had a sweet, spicy soy sauce though. Have other dishes on their menu but I like their dumplings most

I don’t know how this is rated 4 stars, ordered the Tom Yum soup and this is what I get. I don’t know how this is okay to serve. Paid for boiling water, I got a refund in the end but would have much rather enjoyed my meal. Don’t recommend . Even their other portions are small, wontons were slightly burnt.

Used to love coming here. However the most recent experience was not so good. Ordered the prawn won ton noodle, and the broth was very bland, as if they didn't check the seasoning. The lemon chicken sauce was watery and very bitter. The staff could not be bothered clearing tables as we wanted to sit away from the front door. I'm sad that this used to be a great place for weekend lunch out. Not anymore.

We ordered steamed beef dumplings and they are so yummy. A good thing, if you crave for Asian food after 6 pm then this is the best place to go. They are open until 9pm which is amazing.

I ordered Chicken prawn steamed dumplings and prawn wonton noodles soup, they were packed very well , cooked well and tasted good. I could feel they were made fresh. Thank for you for the good food.

We bought dumplings from this shop many times. My kids loved the dumplings here. So yummy and delicious. Recommend others to try.

Delicious food! Really simple outlay, and quick with the food. Make sure you try the chicken ribs, and always do soy AND vinegar on the dumplings.

We ordered a soup, dumplings and a chilli beef on rice. The soup was the worst I have ever had, it tasted like packet beef stock watered down to nothing, those cup of noodle soups you can buy from a Asian grocery are 100% times better. The chilli beef half the plate was covered in oil and the veg they used were a poor choice but it was still eatable. The Dumplings were nothing special but you could argue they are the best in cranbourne but that's nothing to be proud about as there is little to no competition. My wife is Chinese so we eat at alot of Chinese restaurants and this place doesn't deserve the high rating it has, but I must admit when this place first opened many years ago it was pretty good. Also owner was asleep in side the restaurant as people were dinning.

The dumplings were really good and had cheap prices, too (I got 12 dumplings for $13, I haven’t seen prices like that in a long time). The lady at the front desk was incredibly nice to us, and the service was good, especially taking into consideration that there was only one chef available.

We ordered a huge order through Uber Eats & when the driver arrived, he canceled the whole order instead of transferring the job to a new driver! I called the restaurant to see what happened & what we could do to fix it. They informed me that they still have my order & it’s ready to go but there’s no driver. They said they will call Uber Eats first then call me back. I had another employee call be back & explained that Uber will refund me the first order. While on the phone we made sure to re order correctly & they stayed on the phone until the order came through properly. When the food arrived we were really happy with the amount we got and that it was all still hot. Both pork & veggie dumplings, vegetarian noodles/rice, sweet & sour pork & lemon chicken was super delicious. My partner said that the special fried rice really hit the spot! We even got a special little note saying sorry for the order being stuffed around with a couple drinks which was a nice touch for the uber stuff around, very thoughtful 😊 Thank you to the team for being super amazing & helpful. Will get food from here again!

So dumplings are good but I wanted a different flavour with the pan fried beans and was told they only had one flavour???? I couldn't change it to anything else ????? 🤔🙄 anyway dumplings are good.

Great food at a Excellent Price. Ate there again last night and we enjoy the culture and ambiance of the place. They are always running at 110%. That's because their food tastes great... and the price is reasonable.

A meal that sticks with you. I write this hunched over on the toilet for the 5th day straight. If you stumble soon this place thinking it could be a hidden gem, think again. Great if you want to cleans and void you bowls 6 hours later. Will never eat here again.

This got to be the worst takeout ever. Satay skewer was so tough to chew it almost broke my tooth. Hokkien noodles was so spicy and beef too rubbery. Never again

This place is great! The staff is so friendly and felt welcomed. The menu options are an excellent value and the dining experience overall is very pleasant. A wide variety of food, for both vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Ordered delivery with a 30 min wait. Ended up being 90 minutes. Mongolian beef was disgusting, tasted like soft powdery slop. Rice was under cooked. Not happy

Not sure how this has the stars it does, take away was flat out; if I could give a zero I would. Dirty and grimy, if that’s what you can see what is the kitchen like? Dim sims were store brought, as were the other entrees I think. Fried rice, bland and frozen veggies in the mix. Beef and black bean? Tough as nails and inedible. The lemon chicken barely passed. My 15 year old eats everything, we left more than half our meals and he didn’t eat much, if I could give zero stars I would. I never complain we just never go back, I actually went to the counter and complained and said it was absolutely terrible and based on that we will never be back. $90 later and we’ve stopped at Coles to get a chicken for dinner

9 years I've lived in the area and tried all the Chinese restaurants with disappointment.... until tonight! Delight! Only a small place, but big hunger tamed

Ordered via uber eats. Dumpling De Chef missed part of the order. The manager offered those items free next time. What about this time and they're not free as I've already paid for them. They were not prepared to do anything about it, strange 🤷‍♂️

Had vegetarian dumplings and beef and black bean sauce tonight,dumplings were delicious but the beef and black bean sauce had no taste of black bean. Disappointing !

Dumplings are good here....wonton noodle soup is also good....spicy beef noodle soup could be better in my opinion (alleyway kitchen has better one)... Fried rice is ok.

my order took a while to come but the staff were very apologetic and friendly about it . even gave me prawn crackers for free. the dumplings and fried rice were very good everytime i have purchased on ubereats the dumpling sauces leak, they used to seal it but not anymore

The dumplings are good however I got the sesame prawn toast and chicken corn soup and both those items were terrible. The sesame prawn toast was very small and there was only a smidge of prawn in the toast which is highly overpriced for what you get and the chicken corn soup had no chicken in it.. was just a watery corn soup. Such a shame as the dumplings here are really good for whats around the area, won't be ordering from here again.

It was amazing, great food and good service would recommend.

We were told it would be 15 mins it took 30 mins we got home and the fried rice is so bland the Singapore noodles bland prawn toast just tasted like oil so disappointed spent $45 and the dogs are getting it

Absolutely love this little spot! I’ve had many meals here and have tried most of the menu items - they are all consistently great. Dumplings in particular are fantastic

This restaurant offers exceptionally fresh and diverse food. I particularly enjoy their dumplings, having tried nearly every flavor. The ingredients are plentiful and fresh, exuding a rich Chinese flavor. The chili sauce is amazing! The staff is really friendly, and the service is prompt. I highly recommend this restaurant for its combination of great taste and affordability! Looking forward to seeing branches open in the city!

A very enjoyable experience along with delicious and honest Chinese food. I had their prawn and beef dumplings along with their wontons and it was the best I’ve ever tasted. I asked the chef as to how they made it so delicious and they revealed that they actually make the fillings fresh in house. Highly recommend this place to fix your dumpling cravings! Looking forward in trying their other dishes.
