I will not go back to this place. I was by myself so I seated at the bar. I was told I would be brought a menu. Took 10 minutes to even get the menu and no one even looked in my direction for 20 minutes. I decided to walk out after 25 minutes of waiting to be served. I understand they were busy but that was absolutely ridiculous.

I had the beef bulgogi at this restaurant and really enjoyed my meal! The food was delicious, and the flavors were great. The portion of vegetables could’ve been a bit better though—there was only one piece of carrot and one broccoli, which I’ve never seen at other restaurants. That said, the service was excellent. Our server was super friendly and made the experience even better. Would definitely come back!

It sounds illogical, given that this restaurant is in Cranbrook and far from the coast, but I think this is the best sushi in BC!!! I travel ALOT and whenever I’m in Cranbrook I look forward to dining at Sakura. The staff are amazing, the sushi chefs make incredibly good sushi rolls with lots of variety in their special rolls. Faves include the Viking roll, kiss of fire and firecracker. I’m already looking forward to my next trip back.

Decent atmosphere but not the best food. Also the portions and actual dishes are not what was expected. We ordered tempura and a couple combos for two people. Tempura was woefully short on substance. Three very small prawns and three slivers of yam very underwhelming would not recommend. Spicy combo had spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. Decent but over sauced and very little fish. Cucumber rolls were excellent and over sized. Dynamite combo had a horrible roll was filled with crab mix should have been called a Calimite roll because it was a Cali roll with a prawn in it. Not what was expected again. Nigiri was fine but tiny. Service good and location is great just can’t compare to the coast.

The BEST place in Cranbrook for sushi. They have the best prices, best quality of food, wonderful staff, and perfect amount of variety. I've also heard that they're the only place in town with the kind of specialty freezing/refrigeration that makes raw fish consumption the safest it can be.

Nice inland sushi spot. They don’t make the sushi rice overly sweet like some sushi places. Nice variety of traditional and specialty rolls. You almost feel like you’re on the coast.

Such a cute and cozy atmosphere, great drinks, and the sushi is incredible. Awesome service!

Great little place Been here 3 times now and every time was great

The food was fresh and rolls were very good. Prices are decent considering we are not in the coast. Very friendly wait staff and would definitely visit again. The drink specials were great price.

Sakura is Such a gorgeous place inside, and I’ve never been there and not felt very welcomed by the staff. The price is on all the items are very fair and everything is very high-quality If you’re going there for a work lunch, it’s very efficient and quick or if you’re going there for a sit down dinner it is a beautiful interior. Never had a bad meal and never had a bad experience so if you’re travelling through or just want a nice date night Sakura is your spot!

Wish my review could be better, but just tried to call to make a reservation for our date night on a Wednesday night and was told they don't take reservations. We go here often for our date night, We easily spend $100+ when we go there. Super disappointed. I can understand for a weekend, but it's a Wednesday night and to add insult to injury when we were denied they said, were not busy so shouldn't be a problem. Well if you not busy perhaps you should take reservations or perhaps you're not busy because you don't take reservations.

Ordered a couple party tray for 6 adults & 1 kid. Everything was delicious- the crab meat tasted very fresh!! The kids meal was pretty small but my niece was still quite happy. This will be our go to sushi place next time we’re in town.

Favourite sushi place

Food is nice especially tempura is soft inside and very crispy outside. Service is not very good. We ordered green tea and took a while to come back with the tea. Did not ask if the food ok or refill hot water. The server just came back with the bill without asking if we need anything else. Default tip sets at minimum 18% is too much for a casual dining service like this. My 4 star is for the food quality.

Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of service and food. This place is a real gem for this city! We were seated right away without a reservation. The restaurant looks really nice and the servers were so friendly and helpful. The food all tasted great but my only complaint was that the dynamite roll had way too much crab, which is probably a good bad thing. The prices here are amazing, I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were for the quality and tastiness. The food all came out quickly and we really enjoyed our meal. I will come back next time I'm in Cranbrook.
