Any negative review of this restaurant is from someone who knows absolutely nothing about food. Period. I dine out a lot and very much enjoy a variety of cuisines but I find myself repeatedly going back. Nothing in this entire area even compares. Service…food…wine…cocktails. It’s honestly as close to perfect as a human could possibly get. Their seafood is incredibly fresh, pasta is cooked Al dente and served at a perfect temperature for it to cook off over the first few minutes on the table. The thoughtfulness put into every dish (and I’ve had almost all of them) is really unbelievable. I can’t say enough about this restaurant! Best in NJ!

The best Italian place I’ve been to in New Jersey. It’s expensive but that’s to be expected for the quality of food they have and its mouth watering taste. My family has been here for the past 30 years and they have stayed true to the quality throughout. They have a great room for big parties and gatherings too which we used for many celebrations. The service is by far one of the best I’ve seen with the utmost attentiveness to you and your needs.

Food was ok. 3 stars because : -Bread was very hard. - Before I sat down my chair had many visible stains. - I dont know why they asked what is the reservation for [it was a birthday] when they didn't make it extra special [i.e a cake or sing happy birthday] Overall appetizer was great , my bf meal was good, dessert was ok, cookies was good, my meal was blahh. And is definitely pricey- still not worth it for the price. [$120ish]

A little disappointing. Shrimp appetizer tasted bland. Octopus was delicious. Scallops would have used a bit more green of a green touch. The veal was dry and tasteless. Arctic char was not seasoned well and a bit raw. Desert was decent. Beer was served in a wine glass?! Ambiance was lacking felt and sounded like a mall foot court. We expected more.

Never disappoints is the reoccurring theme at Da Benito in Union. A family run restaurant that feeds the who's who of Central NJ power brokers. The food is amazing, and the personal service and attention are superb.

Some of the most carefully prepared, amazing tasted food I've ever had. What really makes this place special is the staff. Benny is in the dining room constantly shaking hands asking how everything tastes. Donny runs the room and wine perfectly and the servers cant do enough for you. With all the BS going on in NYC its nice to be able to shoot over to Union, NJ and get the same thing in my eyes! The wine list also amazing.

Food was underwhelming, very overpriced, not memorable. Bread was cold, mild texture. Olive oil was pretty decent. Orders ranged from special german sausage, octopus, shrimp, to rack of lamb, linguine with clams. free range chicken. Prices on menu were not what they actually charged for some items. They also charged an extra appetizer and when we went to dispute it, the manager of the restaurant lost her temper and just went all out. Save yourself the time and money, avoid at all cost.

My partner and I went here for lunch. Great atmosphere and great service. I wish they had more drinking options. Besides that the food was good. I had the veal and my partner had the meatballs. The veal was good but i dont know if that was the best item on their menu. I am curious to try the other items so I'll definitely be coming back.

We were a party of 6 on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. 3 of us ordered the tuna special which our waiter highly recommended. 2 people ordered it rare and one medium rare. All portions came out medium to medium well. The person who ordered medium rare kept hers. The other 2 people showed the waiter how over cooked it was and he agreed. He came back a few minutes later and brought menus and said there was no more tuna . We ordered something else but then saw other tables getting tuna who ordered after we were told there was no more. If a chef in a supposedly high end restaurant makes an error, just replace the order instead of having too big an ego to replace the meal. I was very disappointed in the attitude of the chef and would not rush back.

First time here for a family dinner with my husband and son. We truly enjoyed it. Jesus was our waiter and he was amazing, kind and personable. He made great recommendations on entrées and desserts. He has been with the restaurant for 20+ years and is knowledgeable on the menu. I had the Manzo, seared filet mignon with wild mushrooms & red wine reduction. It was cooked perfectly and tender. My son ordered the Gondolas, delicious. We ordered a bottle of Duckhorn (Merlot), one of my favorites. For dessert we enjoyed the House-made Mango sorbet (personally favorite if you want a refreshing dessert), Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake with vanilla bean ice cream, and Carrot Cake with coffee ice cream. I can’t wait to return!

Benitos is the ONLY place in the area that I take clients, and where I go to celebrate wins. The level of service, quality of the ingredients that they use, and the deliciousness of the food and cocktails is genuinely the best option in the surrounding 30 mile radius. Pricing for food is great when you consider the quality, and the wine list is actually underpriced in my opinion. The staff is welcoming and gracious - the owner personally comes out to great guests randomly throughout the night. If you're looking for a great experience and super high quality food and drink, stop looking and just go to Benitos. (and they have parking!)

10/10 quintessential lunch or dinner spot for white table cloth dining, amazing food, great atmosphere, unmatched service. We go for business lunches usually 1x month and look forward to it every time. Our guests (some local, some out of state) are always impressed and ask to go back next time they are in town. Really special place. I usually go for a few appetizers to share and the swordfish for my main course. Always consider their daily specials too.

Dude I came here on a first date feb 13th with this girl I’ve been seeing since and this gruff teddy bear italian guy was our server…. He was SUPER attractive. WORTH IT. we felt super well attended, the food was phenomenal. It’s pricey, but you get what you pay for in attention, service, and taste of the food. PLEASE bear in mind. The seating is a little less spacious and the sounds echo a bit. When you enter it MAY be a sensory overload for people who are sensitive to noisy crowded areas. Maybe bring earplugs? That helps a lot. So good I took my exes parents there for dinner too ;)

We had a beautiful repass lunch here for about 20 people. They were so accommodating and easy to work with. Food was delicious - loved the orecchiette, chicken, and antipasto salad. Ended lunch with amazing desserts - crème brûlée and carrot cake. Staff was very kind, attentive, and professional. Would definitely recommend and hope to return for dinner soon.

There are so many delicious options to pick from. I have to have the ravioli as an appetizer. You can’t go wrong with any of the entrees, I usually get one of the specials. I’m a dessert lover, and their home made lava cake and home made ice cream are amazing. A great option for a date, a celebration or just a quieter dinner.

The waiters were excellent. They were very attentive. I enjoyed their Antipasto and Ravioli. Even though I dont usually eat it these two dishes, I was pleasantly surprised.

My family has been guests at Da Benito for years. The food is consistently superior. The vibe is NYC. However, the true differentiator is Benito’s family! You are greeted at every meal like family! I recently had my best friend in from the Midwest. He had never been to any place remotely like Da Benito. In fact, months after our gastronomic extravaganza, Nick Carpenter still brags to anyone in DFW who will listen.

Am a customer for over 34 years. A true gem in New Jeresy run by Benito, his family, Liam at the Bar, and the most excellent service staff you'll find. Food choices are healthy and delicious and the dining there is always a blissful experience

Great! Pastas prepared as they should be. Al dente and flavorful, never too salty. Incredibly warm hospitality. Comfortable cozy ambiance. Excellent wine cellar. Could be Michelin star.
