Amazing!! I've passed this place many times and thought it was too expensive because it literally looks like a museum that only sells big display pieces. To my great surprise, they have many affordable pieces and lots of rare crystals, beautiful nn pieces, they also sell smaller crystals for great prices startingnas little as 3 dollars. It's a beautiful location great energy, sales peooe don't harrass you but do let you know that if you need assistance they are there fo assist. They place each crystal purchased in it's own separate black velvet pouch and I love the shopping bag as well Black with Gold lettering, this is important doe those purchasing gifts the packaging is just as beautiful as the product. Highly suggested. Will definitely be back.

Awesome store filled with cool rocks, gems, and fossils! It’s almost like being in a rock museum. They have so many cool things to look at and they don’t mind you just walking around and looking. Definitely a fun place to stop by and you could get some cool home decor here.

Amazing store, amazing ambiance and energy! We loved working with German the sales associate. He gave my wife and I lots of space to shop and look around and was very playful, knowledgeable, helpful, and packed our items up with great care! We will most certainly be back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine stones, meteorites, fossils, coral, or preserved infects/ butterflies. They had so much more than I ever expected to see in one store but it never felt overflow due to the great layout and size of the store.

Beautiful gemstones, rocks, pendants, bracelets, geodes, crystals, decorations, bowls, jewelry, rings, earrings, necklaces, wands, angels, pyramids, furniture, display pieces, home decor, and more! Very expensive but very high quality. Great for gifts, keepsakes, and trinkets

The quality of these minerals is outstanding, but be prepared for the price! Many of the rocks and minerals found here are comparable to those found in the best museums in the world. There are, however, some inexpensive items... Anyway, even if you do not end up buying anything, the experience of visiting the store and talking to the knowledgable personnel is worth your time.

My goodness! This place is heaven for those who enjoy crystals, minerals, precious stones and alike. Gorgeous store! What a great energy field. For my surprise I was able to afford a few gorgeous stone and the crystal bowls for meditation and relaxation. If you are looking for good quality, original stones, plus courteous and knowledgeable staff, here is definitely the place. I'll certainly be back here again soon! Namasté!

This is a really cool store, especially if you like geology and fossils. Lots of great pieces and items at all different price levels. Hidden, somewhat low key attraction in the city. Would recommend.

I love stone and I always visit market trying to find same special peaces, I have traveled in many countries, but I have to admit that I had never found such a collection of beautiful and precious stones all in one place. The shop has stones of first quality and more over they have very large. The amethyst of the first picture below is a very special piece. It is in perfect condition.

Really cool, really pricey... As someone that loves crystals and dinosaurs and the likes this place is VERY cool. I'd warn against going with kids because some of these are worth hundreds or thousands of dollars, but if you have kids that are mature, they'll love it. I'll be going back and buy myself a little trilobite fossil, i wish i could afford the beauties that are hundreds of dollars but I'm not that well off.

Prices are marked up wayyyy too high. A tower I would sell for $3, they sell for $35. A piece of azurite I'd sell for $500, they sold for $40,000!!!!! NYC prices. Also they market burnt amethyst as citrine. They mispronounced a bunch of crystal names too. Shop small and if you bought something from this shop, you DEFINITELY got ripped off.

Beautiful store with wide variety of mineral and creature specimens! Range from around $$- $$$$$$, this is truely a place worth visiting. Staff were friendly too, they answered my questions and let me hold some very precious specimens. I was able to get a pink amethyst piece for $50, which is not bad for a professional store located in an expensive area.

I felt like I knew the staff for years with the way they provided customer service. Robert went far beyond any expectations I had and really helped me with my engagement plans in every way. The moment you walk into the store you’re greeted with PRISTINE service in every aspect. I even had a hiccup in my plans where I lost one of the gifts I bought later that night sadly. I called them the next morning to see if the item I bought was still in stock, truth behold once again my prayers were answered and there was one more. I came back and both German and Robert were ready with the gift already at the counter waiting for me. My engagement plans were saved. Thank you so much everybody at Astro Gallery Gems! I’m definitely coming back. I genuinely wish I can give more than 5 stars.

I ordered the large quartz with amethyst tree and the quality of the quartz is not as advertised, very yellow almost browning. The tree was painted very poorly with missing spots and terrible paint lines painting the quartz itself in many places from sloppiness. Also alot of paint "splash" all over the piece.

My god, I don’t even know where to start. My mother and I visited a couple days ago and we didn’t even make it a quarter of the way into the store before this associate (I believe her name is Ruth - 66y/o with shoulder length dark brown hair and bangs) came running up to us and dumping all her woes and medical history on us without any provocation. She greeted with the typical “let me know if there’s anything you need help with” and then LAUNCHED into how she’s in pain 24/7, gave us FULL DETAILED information about her bodily functions and pains… She flipped even the bird as she was recounting her thoughts of one particular doctor. She rambled about how she has a 160 IQ and doesn’t need to listen to doctors and that she’ll never be in a wheelchair. Then she switched briefly to her son being in California. She was all over the place! And all the while she continued inching towards us and leaning in unmasked (whether or not you believe in masks, you still need to respect other people’s space) and we were both masked because we’re both immunocompromised. She held us hostage with her ranting for a solid 15-20 minutes. Lady, we aren’t your therapist! This was beyond unprofessional and so unwelcoming. Rather than look around after, what I can only assume was a mere brief pause, and perhaps purchase something we bolted for the door lest we were caught up again. It’s a disappointment because the shop really did look beautiful, but this was such a harrowing experience I don’t think I’ll be back.

This place was so much fun. Decided to stroll in after work and just WOW. It was a full on museum with pretty and interesting things. The energy, vibe, and customer service was great. Will definitely be back again!

This was an amazing store. Just when I thought I'd seen one of the most amazing crystals there was another. The staff was great. They were very patient. The gems and minerals were better than museums I've visited.

An amazing place to shop. Beautiful Crystal and energies are great in the store! Ruth is just wonderful! I have been a customer for few years, I am thrilled she has been so helpful, knowledgeable, greet every one with a wonderful smile! Ruth is just such a joy and I am totally happy whenever I visit Astor Gem. She is definitely an asset to this wonderful establishment! Let me shared the latest purchase Selenite.

Went for an inexpensive, meaningful gift of minerals/gem stones for a co-worker. Got just what i was looking for -- something conducive for her spirit and to strengthen her in the future. Help was helpful, and informative. A great place to explore nature's gems and pair with personalities.

Amazing staff and exquisite stock. This is the cheapest date spot in town. Bring anyone and everyone to enjoy browsing the incredible gifts of our Earth. The back of the store has a wonderful gallery of impressive minerals and fossils. And if you can afford it, buy something naturally stunning

This is my absolute favorite spot in the city. They have fossils, preserved species, rare gems, corals and precious stones! It’s right near Bryant Park if you want to take a walk through after lunch or before a Broadway show and see incredible specimens and species from in some cases millions of years ago. The manager and store employees are incredibly passionate and if you show that passion will engage in stories about the pieces and possibly even take a few out of the case to explore more closely! Highly recommend. A museum without a ticket and honestly more interesting and rare finds!

Beautiful store, many of the specimens were very high quality and larger than I generally tend to see. While there the staff is complaining about how many people were looking and not buying. I found the prices we're about six times higher than I usually pay. I go to rock and mineral shows where you have amazing variety lots of competition and prices are good. Specifically I looked at their dragon eggs I usually pay about $100 for a 8 in by 5 in nice dragon egg, the same size there was $600-700. Again, they did have larger specimens that I'm used to seeing for sale so cannot really compare prices on those

I've actually purchased from this gallery online many times, so I was thrilled to bump into it by chance and see everything they had out on display. Gems, natural history, meteorites, beautiful crystal displays- pretty much anything a lover of nature or science would appreciate for beauty and character.

I went in the store more as a tourist. I could not afford the beautiful things inside. That however did not stop me from taking a million pictures. And the staff was kind about that. They didn't hassle me or make me feel uncomfortable that I wasn't a true customer. There was some very unique things inside this store. It almost resembled a museum. Definitely worth going inside and taking a peek. And if you can afford something even better! 🥰

I came across this store randomly while walking around the area. This was a beautiful place to look at. The gemstones and pieces inside were absolutely gorgeous. Everything was displayed like it belonged in a museum. Highly recommend stopping in.

Amazing gemstones store. They display one of a kind minerals like a museum. But you can find some affordable gems here.

  • 5/5 David Z. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of cool and unique gems and materials at this store! There are a ton of lower priced smaller items and it's fun to just look around through all the large pieces. We're happy with our petrified wood!
