Arguably one of my favorite climbing gyms in this area. The coffee shop is AMAZING, hands down the best coffee I've had since I moved from here from WA state. Tons of boulders that are reset every week to keep things fresh. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often.

One of the best gyms I've been to. The facilities are 💯, the community is very welcoming and there is always something happening if not at the gym but also at the cafe. Photos are from the very first day the gym opened, we eventually became members because we just keep coming back

My son is in their Power Pullers program and really likes it. He has grown in confidence and resilience since he joined the program. He enjoys it so much that he wanted to celebrate his birthday at the gym. We asked Jeremy if it was possible to host a birthday party at the gym, and he was awesome from the planning stages all the way to the end. Jeremy is an amazing instructor, all the children had fun, regardless of their ability level. They left happy and exhausted, begging their parents to come back. The parents were impressed by the facility and the staff and plan to come back on their own. Thank you Method Climbing Gym for making it a very special day!

one of the best gyms out in the tri-state area. community's at 110%. i <3 the staff. location is accessible with public transportation with NJ transit & broad st station. parking is near. there is climbing gear for sale in their cafe. the entire gym is well-maintained. has a kilter board + tension board 2 + moon board. the route setters switch out the climbs mindfully and consistently, providing every level of climber with a good variety. would recommend checking their instagram @methodclimb for updates on their hours, offers, their fitness classes (TRX, capoeira, yoga, adult training program, etc.) and their maaaaany events such as shoe demos, vendor markets, mixers, LGBTQ+ meetups, ladies' night, college night, monthly mock competitions, and more. super easy to get to know other climbers & find your people. some of their events offer discounts for day passes as well, so those new to climbing can experience both the community and climbs with great value for first timers or long-time members, method's perfect. always a good time

Great staff, helped the little one get settled in and showed them how to use the auto belay climbing equipment. The price is not bad at $30pp including the rental equipment. We will be back!!

Beautiful new climbing gym with great setting and friendly staff! Mostly bouldering with some top rope. The Cafe is lovely and offers variety of drinks and some pastry. One of the best cllmbing gyms we've been to.

An amazing climbing gym with an awesome community! Joined in August because the fitness area was enticing, but ended up spending nearly all of my time climbing. The staff is incredible - always willing to share tips. And the additional classes are also top notch - yoga, capoeira, etc.

I've heard about this gym for years, from YouTube videos and friends. I love the architecture, the spotlights. They have all the best climbing holds, many of which I've never seen before. The routesetting was excellent, on par or better than other local gyms. There were a lot of fun climbs made with expensive holds, which is rare to find in the lower grades. There was plenty of hard stuff, some comp style problems, a wide range of hold types and textures. There was not much overhang, except for a more bare bones old school room in the back with a 45° and maybe even steeper overhang. The people at the front desk were very nice. I had a negative experience signing the waiver, It was a very long complicated process and the front desk person had to help me navigate the iPad. Parking was disappointing. There is a garage across the street, But the gym charges $4 to validate the ticket. Not sure how much this ends up saving you, but for the price of a day pass they should include parking. Overall the gym was cool to visit. I would definitely visit again.

I tried Method for a couple weeks and loved the experience. They offer so much more than climbing. For me the fitness room and capoeira classes were a great part of the appeal. The staff and other patrons were super friendly. A lot of places like to throw around the words like "community" but this place lives it.

Simply the best gym in the area. Climbs are always fun and challenging. There is something for everyone and every climb teaches you something. Great community. Big facility with fully loaded gym, yoga room, classes every day. You're never bored, thirsty, or hungry. Their cafe is right upstairs with amazing coffee, lemonade, and pastries. I can't say enough good things about this gym.

My favorite place! Best community, amazing climbing, doesn’t get much better than this. Been climbing here the past couple years and it never disappoints. They’ve got something for people of all skill levels, as well as an awesome fitness facility. Makes me happy to see family owned gyms like this thrive. I’ll be coming back here far into the future!

Membership too pricey for my blood but I'm sure worth every penny. My 1st experience indoor rock climbing. Many and various walls with rocks of all shapes and sizes and painting every which direction. Even a tread wall that moves. They also offer classes and have a gym. Front desk was super friendly and informative and gave a detailed tour which I very much appreciate because I'm big on customer service.

Awesome gym! A ton of killer volumes to play with! The height of the walls are great! Membership price is killer because of the amazing weight room and 2 guest passes each month. Only downfall is the parking. Boulders are fun and auto belay is about 30 ft.

Great climbing spot! Large bouldering gym with top rope. Love the flexibility to also do a workout in the fitness center and train in the MMA room. Appreciate the convenience of a coffee shop as well. I encourage you to see what opportunities there are to expand the fitness center to have dedicated MMA/boxing workouts and classes. Also would love to see mirrors there so that people can train and work on shadow boxing.

Very welcoming, super clean, great lay out… did not cut any corners setting up this space. First time joining a climbing gym, Obe is top notch and was very helpful showing us the ropes. Jasmine our intro instructor was awesome and got us squared away and climbing in no time.

Awesome climbing gym in downtown Newark close to public transportation, street and (paid) garage parking. You first walk into their Cafe/gear shop. They have a ton of gear to try on and have discounts for members. The Cafe has plenty of options even for those with dietary restrictions. Work your way down to the gym and you'll see walls upon walls of boulders to climb. They also have a rope climbing section. Their fitness area is also top notch with all the equipment you'd need. They offer several classes to suit your needs. They also have great hours to suit early birds and night owls. Staff is awesome and the community itself is very welcoming. Check them out!

Quite possibly one of the best bouldering gyms in the area. The staff were as friendly as they were professional. The facilities were clean, orderly and everything you need is within reach. If I live closer I would definitely be a regular member.

Easily one of the best gyms I’ve ever climbed at. The facility is always clean and equipment is well maintained. The Method staff are friendly, professional and always helpful if needed. Even through a pandemic, they worked to build and maintain a welcoming and positive community.

Fun climbing gym staffed by friendly people. Method is known for their boulder walls and routes with a few and I mean few top rope routes. Overall a great place. There is also a cafe on the ground floor.
