Went camping here on Quail loop during Spring break for 2 nights with the family. Day time temperature is in the 80 and night time is in the 50. We camped during mid week so the camp was not too crowded. All camp sites were booked for the weekend. There are lot of gnats during day and evening time but did not seem to be the biting kind so bug issue is manageable. The camp site is clean and most are flat. Flush restroom and hot shower are available. The staff work hard to keep trash empty and restroom clean. During the night, traffic noise from the town can be heard at the camp site. Also morning boat traffic start at 6AM. The noise can be disruptive to some light sleepers. Boating, paddle boarding, swimming and fishing are allowed at the lake to keep us busy during our stay.

This place is amazing for the entire family and our pets. Has a play ground, beach, a lot of space for tables, grills, bikes, kayaks and boats. Enjoy the day with pets, but not on the sand. Bathrooms are clean and they have a dressing room too. You have to pay $10 per car.

Great time rock climbing here. All of us got parking tickets for not paying the $10 day pass. Machine was broken when entering. Had no service to pay on my phone. figured I would be fine and pay when I got home. Guess not. Learning from last time, I’m going tomorrow and have now spent an hour trying to figure out how to give them my money. Only option to pay online I found was for annual passes. Add a button to the site so I can give California more of my money. Or fix the machine. Addition: There is an app you can use to pay for the day pay called Yodel. It’s actually very easy. I recommend taking a screen shot if your checked in confirmation. I got another ticket even after paying. Luckily it was easy to reverse since I had proof. 5 stars for great place, though. 😉

I go to this lake at least once a week... whether I’m riding the 9 mile paved biking/hiking trail or fishing it’s a really great place to be. There’s a hunting preserve attached and a trail for horses alone. Good beaches on both sides... lots of wildlife and plenty of trees. Go.....

This place is not what I expected. The camp sites a super close to each other. The restrooms were a mess when I went to use them. The showers need work, and they need more of them. 2 of the sinks in the restroom were removed. The Walk to the lake from the parking lot is extremely far especially if you're carrying coolers kayaks etc. There's no drop off near the water for older people and kids. Over all I would not recommend this place for camping. Make the trip the the beach camp sites.

We have been visiting the lake for a few years but yesterday was our last.

Been going to this Lake for years with my kids who are grown now and they still love it too. The fishing was also very good i don’t know about the fishing now since we are in a drought. A beautiful family place.

We were homeless for 2 wks so stayed here at campsite , so clean and Rangers and other campers were awesome loved it and thank you made homeless feel like a vacation
