😠 Normally an OK practice, called this morning to reschedule an appointment or ask for a different time, and while I was still talking on the phone, politely I might add, the receptionist hung up on me for no reason with an attitude. I know its a Monday morning and lot's of calls are coming in, but my... People often mention practice, care, system, surgery, time, service, Care, appointment, family, helpful,

My mother was a patient of this practice whilst a resident of the care home across the road. She received inadequate end of life care due to the lack of communication between the GP practice and care home. As a family we were barred by the e-consult system from speaking to a doctor about her care. When we visited the practice in person the days before she died we were again refused access to speak to a doctor by the receptionists. The surgery refused to send a doctor out to visit my mother in the 24 hours before she died, deeming it not urgent enough. The care home called the surgery for help and received the same response. We spent the last 24 hours of my mothers life doing the job the surgery should have done weeks prior, to ensure she was comfortable in her final hours. The care and consideration we received as a family was non existent. The care afforded to my mother by this practice in her last days was inadequate to say the least. I have serious concerns about the care home residents who are under the care of this surgery by default and unlike my mother have no family to advocate on their behalf. We have fed this back to the surgery directly. They have not reached out to us directly. The practice has taken zero accountability for the matter so we have no assurance they have learnt from the situation and it won't happen to another family.

Normally an OK practice, called this morning to reschedule an appointment or ask for a different time, and while I was still talking on the phone, politely I might add, the receptionist hung up on me for no reason with an attitude. I know its a Monday morning and lot's of calls are coming in, but my request was reasonable and I was being nice. She didn't even say bye, just put the phone down while I was considering and asking something. I have no idea if she will convey my message to the clinician. Terrible receptionist, management should have a word with the staff on not hanging up and listening to patients. Don't waste our time. Most of us pay taxes to receive healthcare, to be insulted like that is demoralising when you are already down.

I want to say how disappointed we are as a family. The speedwell practice was never like this before. I have been in this practice since 1999 .Right at this moment i am on phone for 24 min and it says no 1 in que since I called them and obviously no answer. You can imagine the rest . At reception horrendous they don’t book you any appointments . I want to leave as soon as possible .It doesn’t allow me to post if I don’t put one star but they don’t deserve one star

This is a good practice with good doctors. However, there are administrative system issues that should be fixed, for example the booking system doesn't allow for more than 2 months in advance. This surgery is in Primary Care Network 3 which is part of Barnet Federated GPs. The networking of Primary Care is a requirement of Integrated Care Systems, these are the very foundations of the system. Registration with this surgery places you in the North Central London Integrated Care System. This system is based on U.S for-profit Accountable Care Organisations, a more recent incarnation of Health Maintenance Organisations/Managed Care Organisations. It's extremely important when dealing with clinical pharmacists to ensure that they are not from Medicine Optimisation teams in house or third party providers like UnitedHealth Group - Optum Health Solutions UK. It's also important to keep pressure on the practice to not employ any Physician Associates or unqualified unregistered nurses. We must also ensure that the practice doesn't merge with other practices, to form a commercial for-profit super practice. The North Central London Integrated Care system uses Oracle Cerner for its population health management - this system risk stratifies and segments the population - it is highly predicted of cost, expensive patients are pushed into the hands of care coordinators - again make sure this care coordination is in house and not Thrid party. However it's important to know that The Speedwell Practice uses Patients Know Best - this application that has been integrated into the NHS app and uses risk and reward sharing arrangements - everytime a saving is made - this could be from letters being delivered electronically or hospital admissions avoided - the savings are then shared between all parties apart from the patient. Patients in the NCL ICS get no share of the savings. Fundamentally, what I'm trying to say is do not be ignorant to this dangerous for-profit model of care. Integrated care systems uses extremely perverse and complex risk-reward sharing arrangements in all areas of its system. This leads to an increase in transactional costs - the North Central London Integrated Care System rations removes and restricts Healthcare provision. So please do not blame the practice for refferals being denied to secondary care and or treatments/prescriptions not available. Secondary care referrals can be denied with any referral service whether it's UnitedHealth Group or other providers. UnitedHealth Group is vetting refferals in Brent. Quality and standards are lowered - premature and early discharging before care needs have been assessed is now permitted. Please, be prepared for that if you find yourself as a hospital inpatient. The Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust also uses America healthcare system corporation Cerner for its electronic patient record system. Remember you can opt-out of the joined up healthcare record system. Please, contact the British Medical Association, and tell them to rally against Primary Care Networks so we can destroy the very foundations and hopefully bring about NHS renationalisation. We need a publicly owned and publicly operated National Health Service that's fully comprehensive, fully funded, transparent and accountable to local communities and of course not for profit. KILL DANGEROUS U.S FOR-PROFIT NORTH CENTRAL LONDON INTEGRATED CARE SYSTEM BEFORE IT KILLS US! #RenationaliseNHS I must say I am quite upset that The Speedwell Practice never informed any of it's patients on this dangerous denationalised americanised National Health Service. Please, do all you can, write to your councillors, write to your MP, write to the Barnet Federation of Primary Care Networks, and write to the Integrated Care System. Tell them - you do not want this dangerous U.S for-profit system of care and that you want the NHS back.

This morning I attended the surgery for the 'flu injection and would like to congratulate and thank all concerned for the brilliant organisation - friendly , reassuring and efficient. I was met at the door with greetings and the full resources of the building were used to ensure safety and even enjoyment! Thank you.

This is actually the worst GP you can go to and I’ve never in my life left a review online for anything. They called me for an appointment and I went and was left to wait for 45 minutes and when asked how long no one could help. How can you leave a sick person with temperature waiting for 45 minutes. They allow a 10 minute window for each patient when giving appointments which is completely unrealistic! I get there can be delays but these kinds of delays are out of order. People come to the GP to get help not feel worse by the time they have left. Disgusted honestly.

I probably had the most painless extraction of my blood in my entire life, two capsules full, without even a single hint of pain, by this wonderful lady by the name of Francis. Anyone who has a fear of needles should reconsider. I was just amazed. I went in for my full body checkup and she wrapped it on time allowing me to be on time at my office. That is professionalism!

Speedwell receptionists really do go the extra mile, they actually know who the patients are and their backrounds no many surgeries could say that, my daughter is special needs and often we do require extra assistance, it is always done with urgency and care. Thank you speedwell team

After completing the online appt request I was offered a phone consultation with the doctor that I asked for. The phone consultation happened but I needed to be seen face-to-face and was offered to see the doctor that same day. I couldn’t have wished for a better service from the NHS. People are quick to criticise but the reception team and Dr Newman in my experience couldn’t have done more. 5 stars

I've been quite impressed by the practice. They are prompt, caring, and very professional. I don't know if thinks have improved since all the 1 star reviews or if I haven't experienced its negative side yet, but so far it's great.

Lovely practice have been with them for nearly 10 years and always manage to get an appointment when needed for myself and my family, staff are friendly and GPS are always caring and knowledgeable, I even get reminders when the children's jabs or check ups are due which is very helpful for a busy parent!

No customer service at all!!! awful!!! Receptionists don't even listen to you and they don't read the documents properly!!!! For one prescription you have to send lots of emails, then you have to call them many times and at the end, you have to go there and try to convince them to do your presentation which your doctor prescribed!! Finally when you go to Boots for collecting they say we have not received it yet!Ridiculous!!If they put robots instead of receptionists they work better!

Recent appointment with Dr Ali was fantastic as always. She is very diligent and has empathy, patience and is very kind, and generally sees you on time, and referred to me to the relevant service in a timely fashion. On another note, recent conversation with receptionist Jackie was great. She was very helpful and personable. Thanks for your help and service. Zoe Ioannou

After being at another practise for nearly 10 years, I was massively concerned when I was told I had to move practice as I no longer in the catchment area after moving home. Looking at the reviews of Speed Well, it did not read well. So far, I've had to call the practise a couple of times and the reception staff have been amazing. Honestly, they go over and beyond to really try and help. I've not had to see a Dr yet however I just hope they as helpful and friendly as the reception team. :)

Considering all the pressure and demands put upon our GP services, I have nothing but praise and appreciation for all of our Doctors, at the Speedwell Practice.

Every time is a positive experience. The NHS is on its knees and still those at this practise are dedicated to providing the best service they can under all the stress. I recently saw a nurse there called Tanya and she was just wonderful. Thank you.

Very well organised process for flu vaccines - on a Sunday (good for parking), specific entry times (down to the minute) given to minimise queueing time, orderly queue, multiple doctors administering jabs simultaneously, people simply handing in a pre-filled form to enable records to be updated afterwards. Thank you.

We as a family and myself have personally been with this practice for over 20 years. Doctors have retired and new ones come in. Always had a very professional service from the old and new and from the admin staff without whom the practice would not function. A big thank you to all, and keep up the excellent service.

At the moment I'd rate the Speedwell Practice 5 stars. It hasn't always been at this standard, but I've seen a lot of improvements recently. Waiting times have improved, reception services have improved. Staff on the whole are very kind and helpful. I've had a particularly supportive GP - Dr Qayyum - who has really helped me recover after Covid. Her approach has been open, accepting and warm and I felt very listened to. Her level of care and commitment to me as a patient have been outstanding. I've generally had very good experiences with all the GPs my family have seen at the practice. They have been very good at listening to patient voice and are extremely caring and responsive, especially with children. The system of sending prescriptions to a local pharmacy has worked so well also. I find the online appointment system much more efficient, than the old telephone-only one and being contacted by text where appropriate has made things quicker and easier. It's great to see a local practice modernising with the times in creative ways and ways which work for patients.

This practice is really good and the people at the front desk are helpful and polite. All the doctors are caring and kind but I especially benefited a lot from Dr Natasha Qayumm, she has helped me in ways I never thought possible. She is God sent and I hope she comes back to work at the surgery full time real soon.

My husband and I have been registered at the speedwell practice for 3 years and have had such a positive experience. The receptionists are so friendly and happy to help. We’ve never had a problem getting an appointment and the online services are easy to use. The GPs and practice nurses are so professional and lovely. Thank you so much for looking after us - I hope our new GP service is as great as you have been. Also a thank you to the inhouse pharmacy - you’ve all been brilliant too.

The doctors at this surgery are fantastic. Especially, Dr Q. She is very caring and takes her job very seriously. I've been lucky to have a few appointments with her recently and I am very grateful that she always makes me feel comfortable and at ease and is very reassuring. She always follows up and contacts me when I have concerns. Thank you.

I went for my flu jab on Sun 12 Sept. Booking an appointment was very professional and easy. On Sun there many staff and nurses all extremely pleasant and helpful. It took longer to walk around the Practice than to have my jab. Very well organised, efficient and professional. Very well done Speedwell Practice

I went for my flu jab today on Sunday 19th Sept with the letter the surgery had sent me. I arrived 15 minutes which was no problem and was ushered straight in. They had a fantastic one way system in place supervised exceptionally well and I only needed to come to a standstill for a few seconds whilst I was jabbed in the doorway of an office. Brilliant service. I highly recommend this surgery.
