Love this lake and its sister - we kayak across to avoid the main shore and always find an open cove. Not many hike all the way around so many spots have little to no signs of people. Give yourself at least 30 minutes to get back anytime after 3 as winds tend to pick up and depending on ur type of hull you could get some spray in the chop. Afternoons showers are common throughout summer but dont last to long but as always in Colorado pack in layers and always carry some type of rain gear or at least a shell. carry water as there are no amenaties up there and your a ways from even the gift shop down the road by the dam. Pay attention to exposure as your up in elevation here so UV can be an issue - a brimmed hat or at the least sunscreen is a must - you do need a fishing liscense here as well. Be safe Kg

Great reservoir and 10 mile hike around the perimeter. We brought paddle boards, but be aware that you must bring your own life jackets to go onto the water

This is such a scenic hike with breathtaking views of the trees and mountains, plus lots of beautiful wildflowers. I'd say the hike going to Limber Pine Trail is quite easy, the challenge is hiking back to your car :D bring plenty of water, and bring bug spray.

This place sucks for fishing or hiking! Not a single person catching any fish! The roads are terrible and hard to get too! Better have a 4x4 to get to the lakes! Don't go here!

What a beautiful place. Unfortunately it was hazy from the wildfires. Still nice place to visit and hike around.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This lake is amazing. You can use boats with electric motors there. There are 2 other lakes in the area, and they keep them STOCKED. I've caught so many trout here. Water is so clean, and the view is just stunning. There are restrooms, and parking lots. You can bring your pets, but don't let them sw...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ What a beautiful and pristine place. Parking lot is not well defined (38.730473, -104.950230), and it is easy to mistakenly drive to the water utility company access route. There are plenty of signs at the gate to let you know not to go there, so you will be fine if you were to follow all posted s...
