It’s beautiful inside, everything is in gold and the paintings are out of this world. It is better to take seats on the balcony so you can watch the orchestra as well. The toilets are unfortunately awful.

It was excellent but I never went to the theater hopefully I’ll go one day in the future but I like to go to Fontana and smoke and also there is a statue of Saint Juraj killing a snake 🐍 or a male snake. Dragon 🐉 but Juraj is almost like a Dragon 🐉. And Fontana is a magical place

Standing resplendent in the Republic of Croatia Square, its startling golden walls contrasting against brilliant white columns and oxidised green copper roofing, the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb is a visual highlight that simply must be seen. Its solitude in the middle of the city center square only adds to the sense of importance.

Beautiful small theater. Every seat feels like it's close to the stage and the boxes are a throwback to another era where they unlock your box for you, it only has 4 seats and feels super intimate. The ceiling paintings and lights are beautiful as well. We saw the ballet production of Swan Lake, which was beautifully done. Tickets were inexpensive as well (120 kuna for a box seat on the loge level). If you can see a show, would highly recommend it, but if not, even getting the chance to view the interior is well with it.

The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb is a drama, opera and ballet house with 3 ensembles. It stages annually at least 12 premieres, 20 re-runs and gives around 220 performances. It is the most significant theatre institution in Croatia, with a diverse repertoire and regular visiting performances on many foreign stages. The repertoire includes international/domestic classics, with contemporary works through which CNT establishes numerous cultural liaisons. In recent seasons, CNT has co-produced various European productions and integrated the World Theatre Festival into its program. CNT is a member of the European Theatre Convention and part of the project named "European Theatre Lab: Drama goes digital", funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

Architecturally most stunning beautiful building ever, connected with a secret tunnel underneath the Zeleni Val to the Acting Academy. The only place to see professional ballet in Zagreb, gorgeous sets. Opera and Drama plays are also a great reccomendation. A must see if in Zagreb (spoken from a local).

Beautiful building and flowers to view. Was unable to enter due to Covid restrictions. In front of the building is a wonderful piece of sculpture , Well of Life, that is also worth viewing. Nice bar across the street to sit outside and view the building and surroundings.

In my opinion this remarkable historical building is the most beautiful building in Zagreb. Its interior is also great, I had attended a performance in 2019. It was great.

The area and surrounding gardens are a nice place to unwind while staying within the city. The cafes nearby are a little pricy but definitely worthy with the view. Tours are available on almost daily bases and are very thorough and informative, available in English among other languages. The performances are usually original pieces, with classics being almost always sold out early (Swan Lake ballet or Nutcracker).

Well, I saw it only externally but I think it's one of the most beautiful buildings of the city. First of all it is really a beautiful building, even if its colour isn't magnificent but the garden around makes it really very beautiful! Surely the inside must also be very beautiful, even if I don't think there is the possibility to visit it with a guided tour

Beautiful Theatre. Pity didn't get a chance to experience the inside, bet it will be just as awesome

The building is amazing, probably the most beautiful in the town. I would have liked to attend any of the shows to see the inside of the building, as we didn't find any information about how to visit it, but we were lack of time.

Although I have not yet had the opportunity to go inside, the exterior of the building is simply breathtaking. It is clear that it was built centuries ago, and its beauty is undeniable.

Charming building that serves as the host for a variety of events throughout the year in Zagreb. It’s also a nice place to just sit at the park benches and soak in the scenery.

(Translated by Google) still the most beautiful building in Zagreb. I like this inversion of "culture" from the inner space to the outer, but it can be very dirty / messy (Original) i dalje najljepša zgrada u Zagrebu. Sviđa mi se ova inverzija "kulture" iz unutarnjeg prostora u vanjski, ali zna biti hako jako prvljavo/neuredno

(Translated by Google) I'm not very thrilled, the amount of garbage around the building is definitely not appropriate as well as the nightly drinking of young people with such an important cultural place .... I must also say that the smell of urine is not very impressive. (Original) Nisam baš oduševljena, količina smeća oko zgrade definitivno nije primjerena kao ni svakonoćno opijanje mladeži uz tako važno kulturno mjesto .... Moram reći ni da miris urina nije baš dojmljiv.

The building of the Croatian Naraod Theatre (Hrvatsko narodno kazalište) dates back to the end of the 19th century. It was created according to the design of Austrian architects Fellner and Helmer, who also designed many theatres in Vienna. The opening of The Austro-Vergier by Emperor Franz Joseph took place in 1895. The style of the building is neo-Baroque and Rokoko

GDJE SE KUPUJU NJEŽNOSTI predstava odlična. Tema predstave je teška, primjenjiva i u današnje vrijeme, i iz nje se može i treba izvući jedna velika pouka. Pohvale glazbenicima, svim glumcima a posebno glumicama L. Barić, J. Đokić, D.L. Flatz, N. Violić i M. Zečević. Bravo.👏👏👏

An absolutely remarkable theatre with a friendly staff and excellent lineup of culturally relevant productions. The building inside may suffer a few minor maintenance issues, but it hardly detracts from the imperial beauty of the structure.

A once beautiful building that's vaguely modelled on the Paris Opéra Garnier. The edifice is now badly in a need of restoration work as paint is peeling off the building in many places and black spots that look like mould or dirt are clearly visible from a distance. Located in a park area in the lower town walking distance from the main city square.

HNK is real landmark of Zagreb and one of the most recognizable buildings in "lower" Zagreb. Opened on 1895 it withstood the 2020 earthquake and still stands proudly showing what Zagreb was like in the beginning of 20th century. It is beautiful inside and out and if you get a chance to explore it from within do not miss it

A historic and nice building that houses the nation theater. I only passed by it and appreciated it from the outside but it fits very well amongst its surrounding peers. The building is located just on the edge of the main touristy area of the city and a bit outside of the old town, giving a different feel from the former. A nice building overall.

Definitely one of iconic places in the city and must see places if you are visiting Zagreb. Vicinity of main city Square and other popular tourist attractions is good invitation for everyone to check out for them selves. You will not regret.

A really fun day out. The tickets are ridiculously cheap, yet the performances are quite good. I watched the Magic Flute and would recommend it. They had subtitles in English, so it was possible to understand.

Decide to visit this theatre not as a tourist as a regular resident of Zagreb and it was a fantastic experience..... I saw the opera Il Trovatore. The opera was translated with subtitles in English and Croatian language . All sang in Italian. The place is so beautiful inside very old fashion decorated, seems like you are stepping in the 1800s and going back in time. The people inside working where helpful, the prices are not that expensive Worth it to have the experience 😊😊😊

A theater for classic events: operas, ballets, theater performances... When you are in, you feel transported to the times of great european composers. Well preserved and organized, it is a real privilege to attend an opera in Hrvatski Narodno Kazaliste. Excellent, synchronized orchestras, wonderful singers and performances. Cost accesible for anybody interested in the cultural heritage of european music. Easily to get there either by tram lines (a few meters away from theater) and Voltino-Trg Mazuranica bus line (118).

(Translated by Google) All performances (operas, ballets and dramas) are successfully held at the HNK Zagreb, respecting all the recommendations of the Headquarters, so visitors can enjoy a safe exit without any worries. The number of visitors has been reduced to almost a third in order to keep the prescribed distance, two instead of five people are accommodated in the lodges, so this place is the most sought after in the theater. I definitely recommend, treat yourself to a safe exit to our theater at this time of closing as well.
