Nailed it!!!!! The cupcakes are so big and the icing is light and not too sweet. OMG I am sure we will be back every day! The prefect amount of moistness. We have tried many cupcake bakeries and this one is by far the best! My only feedback would be to get bigger boxes so the icing doesn't get squished! The shop is very cute and modern. I wish they also had a bigger selection as I wanted to try two that they did not have today. Also, very friendly and great customer service.

So glad I found my go-to bakery, finally. The service here was amazing!! The cupcakes I ordered tasted even better. I was referred to this place by another bakery that was unable to fulfill my order, and I am glad I placed my order. The cupcakes were tasty, fresh, and worth every penny. I would definitely order from here again.

The first thing I noticed in my experience was the wonderful smell of cupcakes. The store is very clean and white. It's a beautiful shop with more than just baked goods. They sell stuff for your pet as well. I also had the pleasure of meeting Alexis Streets the owner. My wife and I had wonderful conversation with her about the business and other services she has. She was the best part of The Desert Junkie experience. The customer service was top tier. I highly recommended you give them a try for all your sweet treat needs. I like the Banana Pudding and Snickerdoodle cupcake!

This is the cutest dessert spot! Very clean, beautiful cupcakes everywhere and the owners and her staff were the sweetest. The cupcakes and customer service was so good that we ended up going twice in the same weekend.

I was in the area for an appointment, and The Dessert Junkie caught my eye. After my appointment, I made sure to go find out what The Dessert Junkie was all about and I’m so glad I did! Beautiful Shop Decor, professional and friendly staff, and great customer service. There were so many flavors of cupcakes to choose from. These cupcakes are huge and heavy. Worth every penny! These are some of the best cupcakes I ever had. And no, I did not share. 😆 Can’t wait to go back soon and try more flavors! 🧁 💗

My son-in-law visits The Dessert Junkie regularly for work. He has access to the back of the bakery and sees the kitchen first hand. He was confident in their cleanliness, kindness and skills and bought me cupcakes for my birthday. That alone could be the review. He visits many restaurants and some places he won’t eat anymore. He bought an assortment of cupcakes. Birthday cake, chocolate, strawberry lemonade, peanut butter cup and vanilla. Every single cupcake was delicious and the frosting was awesome. I am usually a strict “birthday cake flavor with buttercream only” kind of person but The Dessert Junkie’s flavors were all really good and worth having again! Definitely 5 stars from me!

Dessert Junkie is a must if you are anywhere near Bowie, Md and even if you are not. They have so many delicious flavors of cupcakes, cheesecakes, macaroons and more but my absolute favorite is the banana pudding cake. Whew so GOOD!! Their milkshakes are so good and great to celebrate a special occasion. The owners and her staff are so friendly, warm and welcoming. Truly a wonderful addition to the Bowie area.

This place has everything you need for your dessert needs. They even have great treats for your fur babies. Delicious milkshakes, cupcakes, doughnuts and cakes! You’ll be a junkie, but in a good way! Plus the shop is gorgeous. Come on down and enjoy!

I enjoyed the cupcakes (banana pudding, lemon, and birthday cake). The icing wasn't too sweet and I enjoyed the cheesecake blend in the icing. I emailed about a cake order and am waiting to hear back. Looking forward to returning! I do agree with other posters though that having the cupcakes labeled with signs would make it easier and more relaxed. I get that its personal to interact with customers but the young lady I asked did seem slightly annoyed when I asked "Oh what flavors do we have in this case" ... she only told me which flavors for specific ones I pointed too. I also felt rushed b/c there was someone else waiting to order and I didn't want to keep asking as there were a lot of cupcakes to ask about. Great, clean and delicious smelling bakery!

Long anticipated the opening. Since i don't live in that side of town. When i finally seen it was opened, i had to go inside. The set up is so pretty. The options are awesome. We all enjoyed our cupcakes. They were very moist and airy. The frosting wasn't too sweet.. Just right.. Especially for my man who doesn't even eats sweets loved the banana pudding one. We'll be coming back again.

What an adorable location all around! I love the people and the vibe of this location. The desserts are off the chain. Absolutely recommend the milkshakes as you get the best of all worlds, cupcake, donut, cookies! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend. Will be coming back!!

Alexis did a wonderful job catering the desserts at our wedding reception. She was a pleasure to work with! The guests all loved the assortment of cupcakes and other treats we picked. All I can say is if I could give 10 stars I would. First of all when you walk in to this beautifully decorated bakery you instantly go back to your childhood, the aromas OMG I wanted to order one of everything but my son was begging me all week for their Insane Milkshakes when I saw it my mouth dropped open LOL it was a milkshake on steroids seriously. It came with a cupcake and a donut and my son was in dessert coma heaven and he made sure to tell the sweet owner Alexis it was BUSSIN. Definitely my place to go for all my desserts my lemon & strawberry cupcakes were to die for. Please go you will not be disappointed I promise.

This is a must visit dessert shop. The sweets are absolutely delicious and the store is beautiful. From the moment you walk in the smells invite you. You will find something to satisfy your sugar needs.

Probably the best milkshake ive had in YEARS! The service was really quick, and the staff is really nice! I recommend the strawberry cupcakes when you go! They are sooooo moist and delicious! I cant even express how fire they were! You gotta get there ASAP!

My son and I really enjoyed our desserts. He had the insane Oreo milkshake and I had the strawberry crunch cupcake and banana pudding cupcake. Everything we ordered was so good and delicious. The cupcakes were the perfect texture,variety of flavors available. I’ll definitely be retuning to this spot!

Alexis and the ladies at The Dessert Junkie have the utmost sincere reception for their customers. I had the best service and experience with them. The cake quality was awesome. I gave them a picture of the desired cake, cake pops, and cupcakes design and it was executed to perfection. It was exactly what we wanted and everyone, including myself, enjoyed the delicious taste. While placing my cake order, I purchased the Biscoff, the Creamsicle ice cream, sampled the Banana Pudding ice cream, and OMG, it was smooth and simply delicious. I was in the store for about 30 min because of my long list of items but Alexis took care of me and went above and beyond to make sure that every detail was explained to me. I felt like a friend in the shop, and everyone greeted with a smile, and asked to assist me. Every customer that walked in received a warm reception from them. Aptly named!!! Unique flavors and great service! These cupcakes are soooo decadent and scrumptious. I first got these for my birthday and have been hooked since! The bakery staff are always helpful and kind when I go. If you have a sweet tooth, or love to support local business, this is THE spot.

This was my first time coming to The Dessert Junkie and it definitely won’t be my last. The design of the business is welcoming and elegant and the customer service was amazing! The smell of the cupcakes made me instantly hungry, however the variety of cupcake flavors made it so hard to chose just one flavor…I wanted them all. I placed a bulk order for my daughter’s graduation party and I will NEVER go anywhere else!!

I got the strawberry crunch mega milkshake. It was pretty good. You should definitely split it with someone because it's huge. This place will definitely soothe that sweet tooth. The donut and cupcake were moist. The only con for me is too much frosting (but some may like that!). I'll ask for less frosting next time 🙂. I can't wait to try the banana pudding cupcake!

The best cakes (cheesecake, cupcakes, cake jars, wedding, birthday) in town you hear me!!!! Mrs Alexis makes me feel like family every time I come in here Bakery and almost never has the same flavor cupcakes in here display from the day before....that's correct, freshly baked goodies every day 😍😋 her staff is always professional and kind. The amount of compliments I received at my daughter's birthday party was nothing short of amazing! The Dessert Junkie did an amazing job! The cupcakes, donuts and cake pop bars were truly amazing and a big hit! I can't wait to order more for my next event! I highly recommend this bakery!!

Okay so I have been trying to get to this place for awhile and I’m glad I did they did not disappoint. We walked in at 4:49 and they closed at 5 they were 2 young ladies there and they both were absolutely so nice, we weren’t rushed or made to feel rushed. They offered suggestions and made jokes with us. We had 2 orders the first was the chocolate chip cookie which my son was amazing (I wouldn’t know because he didn’t want to share) in that same order we had the chocolate chip cheesecake which was delicious wasn’t too sweet, the banana pudding which was sooo Damn good and fluffy and as you can see from the pictures it was a lot, birthday cake cupcakes for my toddler which he enjoyed. The second order was a cheesecake slice it may have been a banana cheesecake slice either way it was delicious. Definitely coming back.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! The Dessert Junkie! Ms. Alexis and her staff are awesome, warm and welcoming. Always smiling and ready to take care of us whenever we come in, which is at LEAST once a week! Also, I ordered a custom gourmet cake for my birthday. A Chocolate Layered Moose Cake topped with chocolate covered strawberries was BEYOND my expectations. So moist and delicious, but not too rich like some chocolate cakes can be. It was the perfect balance and everyone enjoyed it! And the bakery stays fresh with new recipes that keep us coming back for more!
