We came here for lunch 😋 We initially thought we were going for late breakfast/brunch having only arrived from Dubai late the night before. As we are staying in the Chinatown area, we figured local lunch was a better option. We got a lovely friendly welcome and immediately got our table. We hadn't been to a restaurant with robots supporting wait staff before so was a total novelty for us, esp my teenage niece. We ordered a selection to share. The steamed chicken dumplings with soy sauce were outstanding, as was the vegetable fried rice, plain noodles and pork 😋 👌. The absolute favorite of all 3 of us was the duck wraps with hoisin sauce. Beyond flavorsome with perfectly cooked crispy outside, soft inside roast duck, nicely diced usual veggies and wraps. Sooo good and so tasty. We got Tingtao beers, diet coke and sparkling water. Our bill was around $115 which was super value for how much food we got and drinks. Very generous portions, hot and high quality food, lovely friendly wait staff. We plan on going here again after some tours and FIFA soccer ⚽️ games. My niece is a young teen and loved the kitty robots, and all the soft toys and store accessories. I've a feeling we will leave with one the next time!! Chinatown area is so rich with food options, culture and xute shops and so easy to walk around and build an appetite. A++++ HERE FOR QUALITY AND VALUE!!!

I’m from Taiwan so trust me when I say I have had extremely good dumplings. Although I still believe that the Din Tai Fung in Taiwan is way better, the dumplings here are the best I have ever had in Sydney. It definitely fulfills all my cravings. I just think it is too overpriced for the quantity we get (which is why I gave this place a 4/5 stars). I would 100% recommend their Xiao Long Baos and Vegetarian dumplings.

This was such an amazing experience. The dumplings were extremely fresh and full of tasty ingredients. Some novelty experiences with coloured dumplings to celebrate Vivid. The service was great and very technologically advanced in ordering. Would definitely visit again.

Compare with other countries, it is less selections in Australia branch, no eel dishes and steam roll. Taste good and keep Xiao Long Bao style.

Great service and delicious Taiwanese food ! Highly recommend their Xiao Long Bao (pork dumplings), it's super juicy, tender, and packed with flavour ! Their spicy vegetarian wonton was also very tasty. The chilli oil wasn't too strong but still carried spice and flavour (just the way I like it :). Custard bun was creamy and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Definitely a great place to eat !

Wow! The dumplings were unlike any others I have ever tried! They were so fresh and hot, they came out so quickly too! The service was excellent and food was all way to fresh! Loved it - going back for sure! 🥟😋♥️

Quick service, delicious food and they've got a robot waiter. The dumplings are always on point and their noodles are delicious. They have a wide variety of meals that aren't too pricey. The food comes out fast from the kitchen.

Loved the soup dumpling from the Taiwanese chained restaurant. Food quality is always consistent around the world.

Outstanding Chinese restaurant, the soup noodles are full of flavour, buns are fluffy, spring rolls are crispy, everything is of very good quality and it took around 10 minutes for the food to arrive. Their menu is very extensive, customer service is great and prices are very reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back for lunch :)

I have frequented several Din Tai Fung tea throughout the world and if there is one thing can encapsulates the dining experience, it’s consistency. Whichever restaurant you go to whether it be in the IS or Asia, the food is always the same with the same level of quality and taste. This one in Sydney has adopted more electronic forms of service with QR code based ordering and automated robots that deliver the food to the tables for the waiters and waitresses to serve. This places starts to get really busy a little after noon so plan accordingly.

This place is an excellent restaurant as the dumplings are very delicious and well made. I got the spicy pork soup dumplings and chicken soup dumplings. These were great and packed with flavour. The pork was definitely better than the chicken as there was much more flavour. I also got the Kaarage chicken and pork baos, these were amazing. The sauce on the Kaarage chicken was very nice. For dessert I ordered the chocolate lava dumpling and that was pretty generic and nothing too special, but still good. I would definitely come back to this place if I'm in the area.

The only reason that I came here is because A chefs recommended this place , it was in a Netflix show , he was amazed about the flavour and good quality of ingredients, so I wanted to give a shot. First impression good , all friendly, we order with the iPad , we got some dumplings me and my friend (vegan) , we got to the mains, I eat a lot so I order a bunch of stuff, my friend order some vegan dishes to her . All good , everything was tasty , nothing special to be honest . Still good food. The problem came when my friend found a piece of chicken in her Vegan dish , not a problem we let the waitress know, this thing happens not a big deal . She continue to eat and after 5 mins 2 more pieces of Chicken, she was upset by this time , we call the waitress, she gave us the apologies and we give back the dish , unfortunately. The waitress apologies to us , they didn’t clean properly the pan (that was her explanation) , we understand The situation nevertheless this should not happen in a kitchen specially when you got a dietary requirement. My friend and I we were for long time in the Hospitality Industry, so we know about this . I will never go back , I will never recommend the place either, I just give 1 stars because the waitress was nice and she got really concerned about it and it wasn’t her fault.

Three of us came and we were seated right in front of the entrance. It was very cold and windy. We asked to be moved elsewhere as there were still plenty of empty tables located not in front of the entrance. The waitress hesitated a bit but then eventually moved us. Xiao long bao (original): It’s nice and hot when it came. Need to eat it quick though so it doesnt get cold! If you enjoyed their XLB, you can buy frozen ones for you to eat at home. Xiao long bao (mala): It’s nice to try something different. The mala XLB has a bit of a kick, which I like. Crispy pork fillet: This is my personal favorite and a must try in DTF! Beef fried rice with truffle oil: It’s just like DTF’s regular oil but fancier since some truffle oil was added. Spicy noodle with pork: The pork is quite salty for me but I do like how it’s made quite spicy :) Chicken dumplings : This is delicious. As most places usually serve dumplings with shrimp, I can finally enjoy good dumplings without shrimp! Mango ice drinks: Must be really good to have this in summer. It’s way too cold to have it in the winter 🥲

I went to visit this place to try their limited edition Rainbow Xiao Long Baos and enjoyed the variety! Din Tai Fung also has a wide variety of sharing plates, noodles, fried rice, dumplings, buns and my all time favourite hot dessert ✨Golden Lava Mochi Balls✨for you to enjoy. Overall I think the dishes are reasonably priced, so delicious and satisfying! It also gets sooo busy so quickly and I understand the hype about this place

Came here for dinner and forgot to take pictures of all the food so here are the random selection of ones I did take haha xiao long bao always worth getting! Unfortunately when we were there (6.30pm) they had already run out of pork chops so we had to order the crispy chicken which was also nice. Drunken chicken is such a small serve (like as much chicken as in 1 drumstick) - for the price you would expect a lot more. Noodle texture from the noodle dishes we ordered were great! Fried rice is tasty also. Mantou for dessert is tasty and fresh. Great way to finish the meal.

My first time visiting Din Tai Fung at World Square and after a bit of navigating, I managed to find my way to the restaurant. It is located on the upper level so its easiest to head up from George St vs Goulburn St (FYI). We ordered quite a bit from the menu as we were a group of 12, the highlight for me was the Spicy Pork and Prawn Dumplings with Noodles, Silken Tofu with Pork Floss and Century Egg (something different) and Xiao Long Bao. The remainder of what we tried was standard with one dumpling (wasn't sure what it was as I wasn't in control of the tablets) being the exception - it was unfortunately bland and tasteless. Upon arrival we had to wait an extra 5 to 10 minutes for our table (not a problem) and was presented with 2 tablets for ease of ordering. I can understand the concept and the reasoning but it resulted in over ordering (by a lot) and multiple double up of dishes which saw us leaving with 8 containers of food. My recommendation is for the venue to ask if 2 is required beforehand to eliminate excess food wastage (we were lucky some were heading home after dinner that could take home the extras) 😅 I have given the venue a generous 4 because overall we had a good meal, they have a home delivery option (frozen dumplings/noofles etc) if you want a mid week fix from home and we werent rushed to consume our meal to free up space 👍

Robots! Soft toys! Always entertained when going to a casual Asian dining place. Tried the malatong dumplings and some other staples. Didn't disappoint as usual! Warning.... The dumplings are hot and spicy!

Was served mango shaved ice BLOCK! We are unable to eat it because the ice block was so hard, we could literally pick it up with our hands. Even with hammering using a metal spoon it won’t budge. The staff simply insisted this is the way they do it in Indonesia (pre-make it and shape beforehand). Taiwan Din Tai Fung’s definitely much better.

One of my favourite places to go. The Xiao Long Bao is my absolute favourite dumpling ever and their Cha Jiang noodle with minced Pork is so flavourful. You order at your table and pay which is great, easier if you're in a group. Service is quite fast and they're always friendly. Overall great place to dine. Will always come back here when I'm in the city.

We’ve been coming here on and off since it opened >10 years ago. Always loved DTF at all their branches. The fried rice and pork is especially a favourite and the pork is extra crispy these days! The XLB is also a favourite and I love that all DTF restaurants have ginger with their vinegar sauces readily available. The mint lychee drink is also really good. Not the cheapest place to eat dumplings but also in line with inflated economy.

This restaurant has amazing dumplings. I really like the chicken bao. We had pork and shrimp dumplings, we had Xiaolongbao, vegetarian dumplings and a side of beans with pork, the food was fresh and got lots of flavour :-)

This was hard to score because the impressions of our group was mixed. My family is Shanghainese so xiao long bao are very popular back home and my parents have a high judgement criteria. I genuinely enjoyed these XLB for their high soup content and thin wrapper but my parents felt the filling was a bit tough and not umami enough. The other dishes were quite unremarkable. The fried rice was well-cooked with large pieces of prawn. The sweet and sour pork was tough to my taste but the kids still quite liked it. My parents found the garlic on the vegetables to be slightly burnt, giving a burnt flavour. I still scored 4 stars despite overall average dishes because contrary to my mum and dad, I found the XLB super tasty! Service was fast as lightning and the restaurant was very busy, which I think adds to the authentic feel.

First time trying Din Tai Fung. This place is very popular and so I had real high hope for some great food. Ordered their fried rice with pork chop, xiao long bao and their siu mai. The fried rice came first, quite like the fried rice which tasted quite Cantonese style. The pork chop was also not bad but not really my favourite way of having pork chop. The xiao long bao which I really thought was going to be great was actually a let down. The pork was not super flavourful and just felt very ordinary even though this was their specialty. The siu mai was the only thing I truly enjoyed. The siu mai was probably closer to what I would like xiao long bao to be like, fatty pork, soupy and meaty. Overall experience food is just average, but service was great though.

We always ordered their vegetarian wonton noodle with spicy sauce, but this is our first time trying their crispy golden prawn pancake and it tastes sooo good!
