Very dirty, mould, staff were nowhere to be seen. One night at around 11 pm, I was trying to sleep when some other people staying at the facility had come in from what seemed to be a night of heavy drinking. Making a ton of noise. It did not stop when they went into their rooms. They then seemed to have started having intercourse (well it certainly sounded like it, unless they had some very angry animals in their rooms.). I called the hotel and tried to look for any staff member that might able to help me stop this ruckus but no one answered or was around. Had to take a long walk outside and come back much later just to get some rest. Do not stay here.

Good points: Bed was comfortable, linen clean, bathroom had newish tiles, but were not being cleaned properly. Aircon worked but was covered in mould. TV and microwave worked. Good points end there. Bad points: Management were impossible to contact prior to arrival. Everywhere and everything was old, dirty and covered in mould. Ceiling fan, curtains and bathroom exhaust fan were filthy. The smoke alarm was covered in glad wrap, one of the legs fell off the table the TV was sitting on. The entire place is old, dilapidated and filthy. But I suppose you get what you pay for, I just hope I didn't pay for Legionnaires Disease.

Excellent location, huge potential for this hotel but it’s old and run down. Mould all through the bathroom and on the shutters. Horrible old furniture. The room looked like it was original from the 70’s! I would not stay again.

I know there has been alot of rain, but bathroom ceiling was black with mould and two massive holes patched with some kind of plastic sheeting. Holes in couch that was as old as the hills and beds felt damp. Outside area was untidy and could do with a sweep. Kitchenette with absolutely no utensils. Couldn't wait to get out of there as I feared for my health.

Stayed in this place to prepare for the Sydney Harbour race worse mistake ever 😕. We had 11 people there in various rooms all with there own issues. Owners need to invest more money into renovations we ended up leaving the next day due to the state of this place. The photos are deceiving.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom family room. Yes, comfy beds but that’s all the positives I can give. Bathrooms weren’t clean and there was the last persons soap left on the shower. We couldn’t park anywhere so spent a smell fortune on parking. Reception staff impossible to get a hold of. They aren’t there when the website says and then the after hours number just rings behind the empty desk. Pretty disappointed. The place has so much potential but it’s very run down and needs a lot of tlc

A good hotel with possibly the best value breakfast and morning tea in Manly. Certainly much better value than most nearby places and around the Corso try $14 a plate vs double that!! And the general atmosphere is relaxed. Based in an older building there are lots of "momentos" of a glorious past. The rooms are basic, the beds are comfortable, and its generally quiet (if it isn't quiet it will be interesting!) I used it to recover from a 30+ hour flight from Scotland. It was fabulous for long sleep ins. Enjoyed the proximity of the harbour and Manly Beach.

If I could I could give 0 stars I will undoubtedly would. For $250 a night, I think that it is a rip off and the interior is both dirty and unhygienic. In the bathroom the ceiling was mouldy and disgusting. The bedsheets were dirty which resulted in me having a disturbed sleep and I kept waking up every hour. And the service was appalling. However the gardens and some of the rooms were aesthetically pleasing but that does not make me give a star. I highly not recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Disgraceful

Booked to stay here just a few days ago, tried calling throughout the day of booking to ask for parking instructions but there was no answer - I figured they were just busy at the time. I specified my arrival time (5/6pm) upon booking and I received a confirmation email saying this was fine. Upon arrival I walked into reception and the shutter was down, lights were off and nobody was around. I wasn’t overly surprised by this and figured I would just call their out of hours number - I called 15 times throughout the evening and nobody answered. I walked through the entire hotel (zero security) and could not find a member of staff. I resorted to calling booking.com to get their help, they tried contacting the hotel via email and phone over the next hour, meanwhile I was walking around the streets in the dark as I had nothing else to do but wait and hope. By this time I had been in Manly a couple of hours, even booking.com realised that there was no hope. I had to organise a room elsewhere which ended up costing much more than I wanted to spend plus so much stress when all I wanted was to relax after a long drive. The customer service of this place was truly appalling, avoid like the plague.

I booked a room through booking.com where it clearly says check-in is open till 11;30pm. After a 12 hour drive and arriving at 10pm and having to park 2km away I walked with my gear in the pouring rain to find no one at reception. After many phone calls to reception the guy answers and says he can see my booking but cannot give me my room even though it says reception open till 11:30.. I could not get any other accomodation that night and was forced to sleep in my car soaking wet...

A little Faulty Towers in manly. Room a but musty. Very dated in such an on trend beachside suburb. Does the job but a bit pricey for what you get

Stayed here on a Saturday night as friend was having a wedding nearby. Room was small but adequate. Had all the basics and a had a few extra appliances eg stove, toaster, iron etc so definitely great for someone spending a little longer. Room was tidy although the floors could have done with a mop. They felt quite filthy when we took our shoes off. Otherwise great location and served our purposes.

Check-in was easy, we arrived at 3pm on Saturday and reception was there to give us our room access keycards. We asked if we could push check out from 10 to 11; no problem they said! We go back to our room, the hallways & stairs etc on the way there weren't the tidiest, but once we got into the room we loved it. It was very clean, bathroom was spacious, bed wasn't as comfortable as you'd expect from a hotel but it was fine. It even had a mini fridge & a small cooktop! So far so good... Then came our check out time, we had come back from a walk at 10.50, 10m prior to checkout. We punch the keycard into the room door... Red. Uh oh, looks like we got locked out at 10, we weren't even told that lockout was a thing, let alone got it extended to 11. Unfortunately there was nobody at reception, despite the working hours for reception being 10-2pm on weekends. I had to find a mobile on their website & call it a few times until they responded and someone came to help. Honestly guys, you could have the flashiest, cleanest, best hotel in the area. But when it comes down to these little things, they make the biggest difference. You can bet that I won't be coming back here again.

The Manly Lodge is in an amazing location but that's kinda where it ends. Pretty pricey for what you get. Arrived at 6pm Australia Day eve to find check in closed at 2pm. Called the after hours number twice and eventually got to a confused sounding sleepy man who had no idea of my booking. Great start! About 20 mins later he arrived at the desk to tell us they did have our booking but no one prepared the key?. It was sorted out and we were given our room key. Room 12 was the deluxe queen room up a steep $159 a night and up a steep set of stairs. The room had a suspicious urine odour to it. Once we opened it up and got the air on it was OK. Hell we didn't have much choice! The bed was comfy and the bathroom clean. Shame it hasn't been given any love as it could be a brilliant little gem.
