Great new cafe located in the heart of Lane Cove. Conveniently located and ample of parking space near by. Cafe itself has a great vibe and ambience. Upon arriving the place was busy as and we were acknowledged within 5 minutes. The mocktails we had were light and fruity. The mains especially the braised Lamb is a must have. Our fine evening came to an end with fried ice cream dessert, which was 👌👌👌. Will definitely be back again ☺️

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here. The service was fantastic and the food was really good. The chef was also very attentive to us which was a nice touch. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and the area it is in is superb. We had the sharing platter and every dish served was very high standard. Make sure you’re super hungry, it is a big feast. We went for the Bordeaux red which is highly recommended. Great food, great place and great vibe. A real Well done!

It was a sunny day in beautiful Lane Cove at Garcon at the new Canopy. First Cocktails were excellent. Second even better. The third round was like heaven! 😜 Service was fast and friendly (and good looking 😜). Will come again. Highly recommended.

I was in the area so popped in for a quick lunch. The dishes surprised me as it was very well presented, the seafood risotto was soooooo delicious and umami!!! I will definitely go back to try other food on the menu!

Sorry - the food I ordered was horrendous. I ordered their version of mushroom toast because there were no other options that were going to be suitable for a dairy free coeliac. The mushrooms were terrible, very undercooked, squishy and slimy with no flavour. The only thing that saved this dish was the bacon, but even still, it was very undercooked. Please review the type of mushroom used in this dish and the way it’s cooked, it was sub par.

Great French restaurant in Lane Cove. Was very busy around 7pm on Saturday but staff were very attentive and food was great. Ordered the chicken liver parfait and bone marrow for starters, truffle chicken and market fish for mains with a duck fat potato for the sides. With a glass of Riesling as well ended up about $150 for 2 people.

Nice French inspired restaurant, at The Canopy. We enjoyed everything here. (A bit expensive, but nice!). Food, drinks, and service was all really good. Seating inside and out, (has outdoor heating). Cocktails, wine and beer all available. Toilets are located not far away, and wheelchair accessible to Garcon, isn't a problem either, with no steps. Enjoy your time here.

Beautiful spot in the Canopy. 3 hours free parking means you can go and relax and enjoy your meal. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Lovely food and coffee. Grass area out front idea for kids and there is a playground nearby so you can grab a takeaway coffee from Garçon and enjoy it while they play. Will be back

Great experience with friendly staff. Food presentation was good. Order an amazing Wagyu Beef Burger, only downside was fries were cold when they arrived at the table. However, will be back again to try more delicious dishes!

Garcon is located in the same complex as the Coles/Aldi section so it had a 3hr free parking which is nice to have in Lane Cove. They had a good range of food items on the menu. We ordered the truffle chicken but was a little disappointed as there wasn't enough sauce. The chocolate cake however was amazing and highly recommended, although waiters suggested the creme Brulee. The settings in the restaurant was nice. We would likely go back again to try other items on the menu.

Amazing food and awesome vibe. Lots of parking in the car park downstairs and the little park area next to the restaurant is buzzing. We can't wait to come back for raclette night and maybe a steak. The croque Monsieur was divine. The perfect amount of cheese, tasty bechamel and generous ham, combines into a heavenly meal. The side salad is tart and refreshing. The "dark breeze" squid ink pasta had decent tasting seafood but was overpowered by the squid ink pasta, it looks pretty, but give it a skip. Chips are huge (can share with 4 people), and the wineal selection is pretty good. I ordered a cappuccino (it didn't have any chocolate sprinkles), but it was a great coffee nonetheless.

Garçon used to be top nudge, not sure what happened. We used to go to the one at Tram-shed and it was awesome … that one at lane cove was disaster. I asked the waitress if they use little marionette coffee and she said yes and it’s my absolute favourite coffee and oh boy the coffee they gave me was probably the worst I had … it’s a shame … desert looked good but lacked elements and flavour. Sad experience. The waitress tho was very nice and friendly.

Friday night and Saturday night has 1.3 kg Tomahawk steak for 119AUD with 2 sides and sauce. The steak was delicious! We enjoyed it!

Great service at Garçon - accommodated with our requests & decors for a birthday celebration. Plentiful and quality food served over the bottomless bubbly brunch.

  • 2/5 Sally D. 11 months ago on Google
My Bloody Mary may as well have been a tomato juice. No garnish and I could only sort of taste some vodka and chilli down the bottom. Totally disappointing. I think the staff were having a bad day too, they weren't very friendly or accomodating of our requests.

Absolutely awesome place, went there on a Wednesday and had the all you can eat muscles, we stayed there for around 2 hours and had a blast, the atmosphere the venue carries for a Wednesday is astounding and would highly recommend, the staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout the entire dinner as well.

Amazing!!! Mainly a French restaurant but with an excellent varied menu, Aussie staples, a well stocked wine and drink list, tasting menu always available!!! Fine food and quality service in a nice spot in Lane Cove, with a parking at the lower ground. We’ll came back every time we get a chance, even just for their great coffee while kids are at the playground Good to have them so close!!!

Went for lunch on a weekday, ordered Garçon breakfast. Tomatoes were nicely cooked with char and lots of umami (very surprised - never tasted creamy tomato like those before) eggs were cooked to near perfection. Selection of bacon is way too salty probably needs a different supplier but overall very nice. Warm coffee, wait staff were friendly. A bit cold and windy at the restaurant being in May but they give you a blanket if you want one. I would go back again to try other foods.

I had Christmas special lunch set with my cousin. The food was generally high quality and delicious. The staff was friendly, welcoming us. Just one thing that I don't like was the watermelon salad. That should be served cold and fresh but it was room temperature and feeling not fresh enough.

We recently visited Garçon Restaurant & Cafe at Lane Cove and experienced a mix of delights and concerns. The restaurant exuded a charming French atmosphere, complemented by exceptional service. We enjoyed dishes like the Catalan Mussels Pot, Truffle Chicken Cordon Bleu, and a kid-friendly Fettuccine. The Truffle Chicken Cordon Bleu was a highlight, showcasing the chef's skill with its aromatic flavors and presentation. The mussels' sauce was exceptionally tasty. However, our excitement was dampened by a hygiene issue—several dead cockroaches were near our table, compromising the dining experience. Furthermore, the mussels lacked proper cleaning as most of them still had their beards. Despite the delicious flavors and pleasant ambiance, the hygiene concern significantly impacted our visit. We hope Garçon Restaurant & Cafe addresses these issues promptly to maintain a consistently enjoyable and hygienic dining environment.

Lovely location with easy parking. Good food but the portions are pretty small (it used to be standard) . Staff were polite but Half of our orders were taken incorrectly so there was a bit of back and forth. Garlic bread was burnt (they covered it with prosciutto) and the wagyu burger is palm size. Mussels from the seafood risotto were smaller than half of a pinky. Hopefully the next time it would be better.

Service was amazing! It’s always a plus when staff are so accommodating and authentic. The selection and standard of food was delicious. We had zero complaints. It’s a nice place to catch up with family and friends.

Had lunch here last Saturday, walk in without booking. Quite spacious with inside and outside seating facing kids playground. We ordered the Garcon breakfast, mushroom crepe and Bacon and Egg burger. The food was very tasty and generous portions and reasonably priced. The coffees were good too. Will be returning.

Great service and friendly staff but for the price the food is “fine” and gets 3 stars. Overall the steak was cooked too low a temperature and was a bot wooly.

Joined in the Melbourne Cup lunch yesterday! Excellent initiative. Superb service & hospitality, great vibe on Cup Day! The 5 course Cup Day Menu was absolutely delicious! A wonderful afternoon at Garçon. Well done team! 🤩

The wagyu burger and the ham and potato gratin were both very mediocre, the burger was dry and was not flavourful at all. The gratin was fine but just basic with not much flavour. The food TOOK AGES to come out after we were told our initial order wasn't available (sold out I think). They also don't accept dine and discover vouchers.

I had terrible customer experience with one of the staff member who served me ice cream. The other staff member worked behind the register seems nicer. I ordered two scoops of ice cream in a cup. The staff member wasn't very approachable. I also ended with two mini scoops which added to be about a tablespoon for $8 and left totally dissatisfied.

Excellent food, lovely staff but being in a bigger table outsides, felt a bit ignored. Had to get their attention a few times just for water refills at the table. Great location, good for bigger groups and with kids. Food was tasty and well cooked, can't fault them on their food!

Tasty French food. The chicken cordon blu was great, meat was tender and not dry yet had a nice crumb on the outside. The squid ink pasta with pippies was good, fresh large pippies and nicely seasoned. I'm going to have to take off work early to come on a Wednesday evening for the mussels special sometime soon

What makes this venue really shine is the waitstaff. All are French-speaking and are friendly & attentive, efficient and fast on their feet (Important for a busy restaurant with a lot of tables). Food is high quality and reasonably priced and the wine & cocktail list is extensive. What makes Garcon one of my favourite places in Lane Cove is that you can drop in for a relaxed casual breakfast by yourself in the morning and then return that evening for a 4-course meal with the family or a formal business function; this place caters for everyone. Well done guys!

Service level at Garcon was attentive and very pleasant. Nice decor too! The place was not too busy and we got our food reasonably quick. The liver parfait and baguette was done well. For the mains, the duck confit needed a tad longer time in the confit as it wasn’t falling of the bone. As for the pipis with squid ink fettuccine laced with sambal was a bit of a miss. Bits of broken clam shells was not great and the strong flavour of the chilli in the sambal completely overpowered the subtle flavours of the pipis and ikura. Food standard was therefore mediocre but the service was good for us to have another go next time!

A huge thank you to the Chef Guillaume, our waiter Maky and the rest of the team for the most amazing date night, the first in ages! 🥰 We tried the tasting menu, each and every dish was mouth watering perfection! The atmosphere was great as were the cocktails and we enjoyed a great bottle of French wine 🍷🍷 We could barely walk when we left but will be back to try some of the other dishes.

I enjoyed having lunch here with the family. Nice relaxing atmosphere outside next to the park. Food was quite good and servings were large. Will come back for sure. If you get a kids meal they're huge!

  • 2/5 Nia C. 2 years ago on Google
Good environment, family friendly, good table service. But, can improved in term of the taste of the food. The wagyu burger and the pasta, taste can be elevated. Especially the pasta, even though there's seafood but all we can taste is olive oil. And maybe the kids pasta can swap to normal pasta w/tomato sauce instead of squid ink pasta w/ olive oil.

Have been a repeat customer here for a while and with good reason. Am a big fan of the Soft Eggs, Avocado with Togarashi - the eggs are done just right, acting as a delicious spread for the toasted sourdough, and the grated feta cheese is sublime with the avocado. The togarashi gives a nice kick on the palette. Combine all of this in the one bite, and the flavour is deliciously memorable. Coffee is smooth and refined. The real star here is the friendly service and energy from the kitchen. They have a winning formula here and success can only follow this.

I usually visit the Tramsheds but had the chance to go to Garçon at the Cove. The vibe was really nice. Friendly staff, nice coffee, and lunch was so delicious. Couldn't fault anything. My pug approved as well (he loved it). We had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you!
