Our family had the most amazing week at St Marks. Damian and Jo are amazing hosts who made us feel at home and provided us the best possible support to explore the region. The house is absolutely incredible, with amazing rooms, kitchen and a very cozy TV room where we watched suspense movies in front of the fire. We brought our cat with us and he also was very welcome. I highly recommend St Marks to families visiting the Dales and the Lake District.

Such a fantastic place to stay! Jo and Damien are incredibly welcoming hosts and will really make sure you feel at home. The house is really well equipped with a big kitchen, dining room, living room, snug and all the bedrooms are ensuite. The terrace is glorious with an outdoor fire for the evenings and a rope swing for more adventurous guests! I honestly can’t recommend this place and the hosts highly enough!

Wonderful getaway for a group celebration. The place is an amazing treasure trove of uniquely styled rooms, each as wonderful as the next. The facilities make hosting a big Christmas dinner easy and it was just as easy to sink into the sofa's in the leaving room by the wood fire. It was too cold in November to use the outdoor seating and firepit, but our puppy loved racing around the garden and peaking over the stone wall to say hi to the locals (sheep). Damian and Joanne were wonderful hosts, the place was spotless when we arrived and they gave us plenty of recommendations for the local area, our favourite was the walk from the house to the local waterfall. We will be back for a return visit!

Went for a family birthday and golden wedding celebration, we had a fantastic time, comfy beds lovely bedding, all bedrooms ensuit, spotlessly clean. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, lots of games for wet weather, even the grown ups liked the rope swing. Damien and Joanne perfect hosts. Views spectacular.

Had a fantastic stay with all the family for a golden wedding anniversary. Huge well appointed house, lots of games, books, dvd's and cd's for a rainy day. Lovely comfy seating and very tasteful decor. Woodburners kept the rooms toasty! A great dining room and kitchen that our chef happily cooked our fantastic meal. Loved the Aga and butler's pantry. Great views and lovely garden and close by to Cautley Spout waterfall. All the bedrooms were spacious with comfy beds. Big room for exercising or yoga/pilates. Would highly recommend. Thanks to the lovely hosts who live on site and are happy to help with anything.

What can I say about this place and the people who own it........ We booked this place for a hen weekend on air BnB after seeing fantastic reviews for both accomodation and customer service and they couldn't be more accommodating. Nothing at all was too much trouble. They helped us with anything we needed, even took our group photos. The rooms were immaculate and decorated beautifully. The kitchen had everything you could possibly imagine and the outside area and fire pit were spectacular! We will certainly be back again and I will be recommending to everyone!!! Thank you so much you both and, of course, Bracken the dog xx

Absolutely recommend St Mark's Stays in every possible way. The home is immaculate, attention to detail, beautiful room, comfortable beds, the little touches of kindling and wood all set for the wood burners, we didn't need them as the heating was fabulous for us to hold our 3 nights Somatic Movement and creative Yoga Motion Retreat. The studio was comfortable for 8 students to be able to move freely. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely amazing! The rooms are spectacular with super comfy beds. The views you wake up to feel like out of a fairy tale. The house was well equipped with kitchen appliances. We fell at home instantly and had an amazing stay! The hosts helped us with ideas for walks and were super attentive with any questions we had. Would be recommending to all of my friends and family.

We stayed here for a reunion with university friends and the house was perfect for a big group. Joanne and Damian have really outdone themselves and should be proud of what they have achieved, the house is absolutely stunning! It had everything we needed, from warm, comfy beds to a fully equipped kitchen. Joanne and Damian are amazing hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home, and gave us tips on things to do, there are some amazing walks and the waterfall is definitely worth a visit. They were also very welcoming to our dog and the garden was great for her to run around in and she especially joined the AGA after rainy walks.

We had the most perfect weekend staying with Jo and Damian over our wedding weekend. We got married at the church opposite so the location was perfect! The stunningly beautiful views from the garden made the perfect backdrop for photographs, and their equally beautifully decorated home made for such a lovely relaxing atmosphere for getting ready on the day. Jo and Damian made us a delicious breakfast and lunch while we were getting ready and also did an amazing cooked breakfast the morning after which was thoroughly appreciated after the ceilidh dancing the night before! They put such a lot of effort into the small things that really make a difference and make you feel special, whilst at the same time managing to create a really chilled homely atmosphere. I loved the flexible approach to the weekend food-wise and it was the best of both worlds for us - Mum was able to cook for all of us in their lovely kitchen the night before the wedding, but then on the day of the wedding we had all the benefits of being in a hotel - food appearing out of nowhere! But with the added bonus of having a whole house (2 sitting rooms, dining room etc) so we all had the communal and private space we all needed for getting ready. All in all it was the most perfect set-up, location, and hosted stay we could've hoped for. I cannot recommend staying at St Mark's Stays enough.

Beautiful location with great walks and streams/ rivers. The craft mill, showing really lovely local art and craft work and the tallest waterfall in England, both a walkable distance. Our hosts gave us space but facilitated us whenever we needed it. Electric charging point 4 the car, laying fires, helping with walk returners, offering guidance to swim spots. Located in a valley the home was sheltered from most of the harsh weather, such a good location. The yoga studio was well equipped and lit. The road nearby was quite and the house double glazed. We had a great week. Thank You.
