Wonderful experience according to all twelve of us. Friendly staff and truly invested in our stay being everything we hoped for. This was from a person helping me make the reservations, to the check in staff, to the different restaurant workers and the owners. The cleanliness of the entire resort inside and out was front and center. I have been coming on and off for 69 years and have always felt welcomed. The up keep on the historic hotel is of greatest importance. Deb has done a remarkable job keeping the old with the new. I can't wait for the 100 year celebration.

I can't say enough good things about this resort! The rooms seem to all have beautiful MN lake views, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the housekeepers to the bartenders to the front desk staff. The salt water pool is so nice, the pool bar makes it even better. We loved the inflatables out in the lake beach. Pontoon cruises, big yard games, great restaurants/delicious food, bar with live music, kids activities, boat rentals of every kind, they literally have anything you could ask for! Everything about this resort is impeccable. I will be back!!

Very relaxing and plenty to do. The golf was great, and activities kept us busy. Good restaurants, but Mission Point is the place we will go for every meal next time. Highly recommended for a close drive from the Twin Cities and comfortable and clean.

Our work conference at Madden's was a complete success. The hotel brings a little of the old with the new. Very well maintained and clean. The food was excellent and our rooms were great. The Classic golf course is nothing like I've ever golfed before. Great experience and very challenging! We are already talking about going back next year! Thank you for our stay.

We came up here for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Such an amazing place with the best views around. So many options to pick from, but we did some golfing as a couple. Tom in the Pro Shop was beyond helpful. From finding the right gear to recommending awesome places to eat. Our room was great too. We had a fireplace and we were fully stocked with kiln dried wood and all the materials to get it rolling. Just a perfect weekend and we can't wait to experience it again.

Maddens is a fantastic resort with so much to do. The staff members are very friendly too. We came up for a Fall weekend with our family and really enjoyed our stay and everything the resort had to offer. We will definitely be back.

The lake is beautiful and is located in an excellent place for local day trips. Our room was very big and nice. We docked our boats at the lagoon, stayed at Mission Point (really cute area) and that worked great for us. The food in the restaurants is excellent, but a little slow in serving at Mission Pt. The registration, cleaning and maintenance staff were all kind, friendly and accommodating. There were errors on our bill, but they were corrected when I inquired. To be aware, if you are on a basic resort package (2 meals a day included) there will be $$ in tips for each meal. This was a special trip for a special occasion for us, but overall more costly that I'd pay again.

We stay at Madden's every summer and we always have a wonderful time. The food is resort quality and nothing short of amazing. We have stayed at the historic inn (definitely has that historic feel...smaller and more cozy rooms), the golf villas (our favorite due to size and accessibility to the entire resort), and Mission Point (dated, but large with wonderful views). We can't wait for next year!

Overall it was a very nice resort with a good amount of amenities. Our two bedroom cabin was mostly spacious, comfortable and had a great view. It was perfect for traveling with a loud toddler. Some negatives about the cabin were the bathrooms were incredibly small with no fan so it got very musty and smelly in them and the lack of lighting in the bedroom. Our biggest frustration with the resort would be the lack of quick places to eat. The pizza place was great but there was no other quick option. It would be nice to have a quick service place that served burgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, and breakfast sandwiches/ waffles. Maddens bros market had basically no real food just coffee and pastries. It’s hard to do a sit down place with a toddler.

We had a room on Mission Point and it was spectacular. Great view of the lake and it was right next door the restaurant where we had a great dinner and breakfast. We also just walked right over to the mission point bonfire at night and got to enjoy s'mores and fire while our baby was sleeping because our baby monitor range reached the fire. The boat launch was also close by and so we launched and docked our boat in the canal free of charge. We will definitely come back!

There are some areas that could use a revamp (we wouldn't stay in certain places because they are pretty outdated). The pools were not as clean as expected. Same as hot tub. Outdoor pool was nice. We loved the beach. Kids loved fishing. Food was much better than last time we came.

I have stayed at Madden's several times in my life and have always enjoyed my stay. This was a last minute escape and our first stay in the sunset villa and was charming. The wood fired fireplace was a wonderful touch. Service was warm and welcoming- which has always been my experience.

Best Resort and not by accident. The owners have decades of experience now spanning 4 generations of passing that knowledge and service excellence on. I am a pilot and so glad the SEAPLANE SAFETY CONFERENCE found a home there. My grandson was beyond impressed and will be there with me again next year. He will become a pilot with the excellent instructors he met this year. Thanks to all who make it happen!

An outstanding getaway/golf trip in Northern Minnesota. Staff was very friendly and they have enough amenities to make a longer stay out of it. All 16 people in the group have already committed to going again next year as a part of our annual golf trip. Fantastic vacation!

Fantastic rooms, and amazing service. Golf course staff were very friendly and inviting and were happy to assist on all the courses with friendly conversations and tips. While onsite I got a slow leak in my tire and it went flat, maintenance was very courteous and helped me inflate the tire. Overall above and beyond experience. Will definitely be going again.

We had a lot of room issues: bandage on the bathroom floor, hair all over the shower, door stopper broken with hole in the wall from the door, chairs rusted and had stains in the floors, and our patio door didn’t lock. Staff didn’t care and would “let maintenance know”. The food at all of the restaurants we went to was not great and slow service, I would recommend leaving the resort for decent food. I would not go back or recommend this place, especially for the price.

We were at Madden’s for a wedding. We stayed in a one room cottage at Mission Point overlooking the lake. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely be back. I also plan on recommending Madden’s to friends and family.

Maddens on Gull Lake in Minnesota is an absolute gem, and my recent stay was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the outstanding service and the breathtaking accommodations. The staff at Maddens truly knows how to make you feel like a valued guest. Their passion for providing exceptional service shines through in everything they do.

I visited Madden's for my first time for a 2-day conference. My daughter joined me and we had a blast! On our entire drive home, we talked about returning and bringing my husband and other daughter to make it a family vacation! Great experience all around!

Got some great views here in late May for a company meeting. We got to golf on one of the many courses here, and couldn’t have had better weather. Incredible scenic views while golfing and while relaxing after meetings. Staff was excellent and professional. The room was clean and spacious. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had at a hotel like this. Lots of care and detail and it’s noticeable. I would recommend others to Maddens On Gull Lake for events or for leisure.

Madden's On Gull Lake offers an amazing experience for high school golf teams. For a super reasonable price our team was able to go to the resort for a short trip which included: dinner, hotel rooms, breakfast and 36 holes of golf! My girls had a great time and the staff at Madden's is so helpful and friendly! We have taken advantage of the deal two times now and will keep going in the future.

I've been going to Madden's for two decades for business and pleasure. It's always a great time, good food, great service and such a beautiful, relaxing setting. It was also a perfect destination for a wedding I attended 3 years ago. They know how to take good care of their guests!

We booked a July trip but we just had something come up so I just had to cancel, and was informed that I only get half the deposit back, even though I am cancelling 4 months in advance! I have stayed at Maddens many times over the years, but it will never be a consideration again. Its likely something that was in their disclaimer, but having stayed in hotels for work and pleasure well over 100 nights a year for over 25 years, it is something I have never experienced before. Be aware of this policy if you are booking.

Our kids purchased a Spa Weekend Pkg for our anniversary. The weather was lousy but we still had a great time. The food was great and we enjoyed the fireplace in our room since winter will never end. Our Spa services were much needed and were amazing! Thanks Madden's! :)

I co-hosted a bachelorette party event here. We couldn't have had a better experience. From the front desk staff, to the pontoon driver, the cleaning crew, pool bar attendees and restaurant staff... Everyone we encountered had positive spirits and made our weekend better. A HUGE shoutout to Helen G from the front desk who gave us complimentary champagne and made special accommodations for our group. She was remarkable! Will def be back at Maddens again!

I had a great, relaxing experience at Madden's! The location is beautiful. You are surrounded by Gull Lake on all sides. The views are beautiful and the staff give excellent customer service 👏🏼 The food was very good and prices were as you expect at a resort but they give you great portions. Coming out of the pandemic we have been in, this was wonderful and much needed. ❤️

My family goes to Maddens every Labor Day, we enjoy golfing daily, spa treatments, bingo, pickle ball, swimming, the amazing food. The views of the lake from our rooms and dining are beautiful. We go home so relaxed. All of us look forward to it every year and go home so happy.

Went to Madden's as a child and remember loving it. Thought would go back over MEA weekend for an adult vacation with my significant other. If you have kids, this is THE weekend to go, right before they close for the winter. They had a ton of activities for kids daily - pumpkin carving, movies, medallion hunt, tons of outdoor activities, costume trick or treating, boat rides, bonfires, games for kids. We stayed in the Sunset Villa's room 4236 which was a quiet corner top floor unit. It was off the beaten path but a beautiful, huge room (king size bed, 2 TVs, wood burning fireplace, breakfast bar, huge dining room table, two comfy chairs and a huge deck overlooking trees and water). This is a huge resort with about 4-5 restaurants (very pricey and high-end food), multiple indoor and outdoor pools, indoor games (ping pong, pool, video games), outdoor games, including bikes, water equipment, tennis/pickleball stuff you can borrow/rent. I suggest the breakfast package, all you can eat fabulously tasty breakfast buffet. And the employees are from all around the world and super accommodating and attentive. Reservation staff were top notch, responded to all my questions before our arrival! I gave it a 4/5 stars because other than golf and music in the onsite pub, not much to do for adults at a lower cost (they have a spa on site, but very expensive). Would love if Maddens had an adult only weekend or month.

I partake in a yearly golf weekend trip with the fellas - 90 holes in 3 days. The staff is professional and friendly, their facilities are updated and clean, the food was surprisingly good. The golf courses are well groomed and pace of play was never an issue. Their price is on the higher side of some resorts in that area but it is a well-kept place with great staff members.

We held our first ever company event at Maddens. All the staff we worked with were awesome and attentive to our needs. They bent over backwards for our employees and the free shuttle service was amazing! House keeping did a great job of cleaning the hospitality room we were in and when we called the front desk they were prompt in handling our requests. They did a fabulous job and we are already booking our stay with them next year!! Thank you to all the staff at Maddens for making our stay relaxing and comfortable.

Had a GREAT stay at Madden’s as we celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary. This was our first time to Minnesota and everything about the resort was amazing, from the views of the lake to the staff. The golf at Pine Beach East and West courses was also a fun time. The golf staff was very welcoming. Cannot go wrong staying here.

Even though it was the last weekend - and it was a activity-filled weekend for the staff, they were as kind as kind could be. Everything was clean, everyone was knowledgeable and friendly, there were so many activities for the kids. The massage was UNEQUAL to anything I've ever experienced (thank you, Kelly!), and my husband LOVED golfing. Thank you so very much, Maddens. We'll be back!

Just went here for a wedding and the resort looks fabulous, with lots of things to do for guests. The employees that I interacted with while on the grounds for a good 8 hours were all super friendly and great. They also pulled of a well organized wedding for a 100 with what seemed like zero issues. Nice place in general.

From the time of arrival it was evident the resort was a fantastic place with recreational activities for all ages. We were pleasantly greeted at the front desk and each and every staff member throughout our stay MADE our stay a great one! Food was outstanding, service of hospitality went beyond expectations, and I would recommend a stay at Madden's on Gull Lake.

This was my first time staying at the resort. The golf course was beautifully maintained. The venues were great. There is something to do for almost everyone. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The floors in the rooms were squeaky which was a little annoying but that view made up for all of that and then some!
