I don’t write reviews, but I must make an exception with this one. The worst experience I ever had with American Psychiatric Care started with the receptionists to the nurse practitioner (GRACE ONUEDBU). They were very unprofessional and felt I was doing them a favor by seeking help. How can a nurse practitioner diagnose you with something and say you need to get a therapist so they can explain it to you in more detail? I am only here to prescribe medications! At that moment, I knew this was not the place for me to get treated. I was so disappointed that I felt that I didn’t want to seek help anymore and deal on my own. Therefore, this is the reason why are so many suicides going on because of places like this.

Place is a joke, don't waste your time. They cancel on me with 6 hours notice via text after I confirmed the appointment 2 days prior. Now I have to take off work on another day for another appointment with a DIFFERENT practice. Thanks for nothing.

I would say that my TMS treatment was successful. It required a commitment and time in my schedule, which was the only drawback. The sessions were relaxing and not at all painful. Techs were great. I definitely benefited with improved mood and no side effects.

WORST PSYCHIATRIST EVER. I’ve been with this place for almost 2 years now and I’ve already gone through a handful of doctors because they keep leaving (hmm wonder why!) My current doctor is consistently late to telemed appointments, and has even missed telemed appointments despite me calling the front desk to confirm. The front desk almost never answers the phone, and now I’m going almost a week without my medications because my provider incorrectly sent only one out of my two prescriptions, and despite me leaving messages with the front desk STILL hasn’t sent out the correct prescriptions. I seriously think my provider is on drugs or something considering I literally JUST had an appointment the same day she was supposed to send my medications to the pharmacy and not only was she staring at the screen with her mouth gaped wide open the whole time, but she kept asking me what my prescriptions were and what they were for and despite me reminding her my exact prescriptions, she STILL sent them out wrong. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE! I am currently looking for a new doctor because this place is RIDICULOUS.

We do Assisted Living. Prescribers have messed up some of our residents because they don't prescribe appropriately causing dementia residents to suffer. Psych residents have symptoms not being treated. Coming to A.P.C. and having Heather medicate these folks appropriately, it's a joy watching them in a much more comfortable state. Heather medicates using common sense, and we get refills with one call. Not running out because after several calls and emails, The previous prescriber finally sends the refill to the pharmacy after running out of meds, often changing the dose without notifying us or sending us a new order. We are transferring all our cases to Heather because our stress has been resolved.

I was very unhappy with my visit. I was told I would be prescribed a certain medication by the girl that made my appt. Almost immediately I found out she never prescribed it. While she was very nice & extremely smart I came in there not to be judged & she made her decision before she even met me. I was very disappointed in my experience & felt it was a waste of money & time.

I had a first appointment n was prescribed meds for a week to see how it went. Came back next week and got a months worth. Next appointment hoping for 90 days worth but my telehealth was with another nurse practitioner who doesn’t know my last two visits and can only give me a months worth of medication. I have to go again in a month hoping to get 90 days,my copays are 50 and I have a balance each time due to my insurance, very costly and confusing. Medications help but having me come so many times to talk for ten minutes and no long term meds is frustrating

This practice is horrible.I’ve been with them for years. They kept switching psychiatrist to the point I do not get one I have a nurse practitioner seeing me never a psychiatrist. Not too concerned or through with their help and treatment at all mostly just a hassle and shallow interactions which are cold. At times they treat me horribly and they’re willing to terminate me If I don’t show up to a single appointment, which they never told me the date. they have a attitude towards me and they’re not sympathetic to what I’m going through and helping me with college. They don’t listen to how to help when it comes to signing forms. They tend to be ridiculous, lacking or unnecessary. They are rude and This practice is lazy. I suggest you find somewhere more comfortable to get your therapy and you’re psychiatry. I hope to find a new one soon. Just an update. They terminated me on the 20th when I scheduled an appointment on the 28th not even caring that I have to go back to school. They sent me a letter in the mail saying that I can’t see me when I have an appointment on the 28th this practice is unfair and is not beneficial to your mental health if anything they cause mental problems.

I recently requested a change (I heard back from the office same day) from my previous provider to Kristy. She talked to me for over 20 minutes and took her time with me. She updated my information that had not been changed in their system for years. I have hope that I haven’t felt in a long time. A breath of fresh air and optimism after struggling for months.

I had the pleasure of getting an appointment with Kristy, and she was absolutely wonderful! She really asked a lot of questions in detail to get to the root of the problem. I think if you are seeking any type medication or help in anyway, they are the place to go! Thank you for your help kristy!

Dr. B is awesome!! He actually pays attention to how I’m feeling and because of that I’m learning how to express my feelings and emotions better.

I really felt like Jennifer cared about what I had to say, and she was thorough and kind. I felt really safe. Ms. Turpin also allowed me to participate in my own care plan, which is important to me. The triage nurse was also great, and everyone in reception was very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend this office to friends and family.

I received magnet therapy for depression at the American Psychiatric Center in Belair. Each session took only 20 minutes. The results were amazing. I stopped taking my antidepressant and feel great. No side effects!

Dr. Ravikumar Bhalavat is AMAZING! He ask questions, he gets me engaged, he motivates me into conversing with him. It is EXTREMELY difficult to get me talking. He digs into my mind, he offers really good suggestions. He gives me no problems in terms of prescribing me medications. I am very picky and reclusive. If he can get ME to talk, he can help anyone!

There were issues with the connection on myupdox for our virtual visit. It showed I was connected on my end but that I was waiting for the provider to join the forum. On the provider’s end, it showed she was connected but waiting on me. We both waited for close to an hour before disconnecting. When I called the office staff during that time, they just told me she was running late. My son whom the appointment was for became very agitated with the hold on myupdox.

😠 Unfortunately I switch health insurance and my provider recommended that I go to this location for a therapist.... I felt uncomfortable being there. There is no privacy. I heard one lady had a complete meltdown in front of me. It's a big open room. No privacy to talk to somebody. I had a 30-day foll...
