This
review
is
for
ALL
grocery
stores
owned
and
operated
by
the
same
holding
company
of
Albertsons
holding
company.
Has
anyone
noticed
the
deterioration
of
Jewel
grocery
stores
quality.
The
staff
are
great
quite
friendly
and
helpful.
Their
grocery
product
is
extremely
poor.
The
produce
is
old,
extremely
so.
I
come
from
a
farm
family.
We
live
in
the
grain
belt.
Where
is
our
fresh
food
going?
Fresh
food
should
be
the
norm
here.
Apples
are
a
perfect
fruit.
They
can
be
picked
in
the
fall
and
remain
fresh
through
the
winter.
The
pioneers
kept
them
in
a
root
cellar
where
the
temperature
remained
a
constant
cool
in
their
root
cellars.
This
way,
most
produce
could
remain
a
staple
to
the
families
while
living
through
the
cold
winters.
This
holding
company
has
many
grocery
stores
under
their
umbrella,
i.e.,
Jewel,
krogers,
Albertsons,
and
Marianos
they
are
destroying
the
fresh
food
industry.
Their
potatoes
are
experiencing
the
same
fate
as
the
apple,
rotting
in
our
veggie
drawers.
Today,
if
one
buys
their
apples
and
potatoes
from
this
CA.
based
store
we
will
be
lucky
if
they
last
the
week.
The
skin
on
the
apples
are
so
waxed
and
thickened
they
are
difficult
to
bite
through
to
get
to
inner
fruit.
I
wonder
if
that
is
the
purpose
of
the
wax?
To
prevent
the
apple
from
ripening
naturally.
and
eat
the
apple.
Their
potatoes
are
the
same
type
of
produce
rotting
in
ones
veggie
drawers
within
a
week,
maybe
two
if
we
were
lucky.
Their
freshness
does
not
end
with
the
failure
of
their
produce.
Saltines
(premiums)
were
a
staple
in
my
home.
I
can
not
count
on
them
any
longer
they
go
stale
sometimes
b4
I
get
home.
I
mentioned
this
to
the
Jewel
employee,
and
it
was
suggested
I
buy
a
smaller
box.
hmmmm,
smaller
box,
more
money
less
product
NO!!
thankyou.
Saltines
were
perfect
for
upset
stomachs,
colds,
etc.
No
longer
thanks
to
Albertsons
(Jewel)
food
stores.
They
have
also
confiscated
Marianos,
who
was
founded
by
the
laid-off
CEO
of
Dominicks
when
Albertsons
bought
the
now
defunct
Dominicks.
You
can
see
the
change
in
ownership.
When
Marianos
was
first
concieved
and
implemented,
it
was
done
by
a
midwesterner
in
the
grain
belt.
who
knew
how
to
be
a
fresh
food
grocer
in
the
Midwest.
We
actually
had
a
store
again
with
good
products
fresh
food
with
fresh
squeezed
orange
juice.
Great
service
and
midwest
quality.
Whelp,
the
holding
company
owning
Albertsons,
has
now
bought
many
Marianos
not
all
because
they
would
be
a
monopoly.
They
have
not
figured
out
how
to
get
around
that
law
yet
so
they
can
take
all
our
grocers
down
the
crapper
with
them
and
the
rest
of
our
chain
grocery
stores.
I
don't
know
about
anyone
else
but
employee
owned
companies
for
me
going
forward.
They
have
destroyed
the
taste
of
fresh
foods.
Don't
let
them
fool
you
peeps.
