Went here with my girlfriend as a surprise. We both love oriental food, and thought we'd try Japanese food. When we went to the resturant, one of the workers immediately stood up to greet us and hand us some menus, despite the place looking pretty quiet on a Saturday. We ordered a mix of appetisers and mains, including the bento box, sushi platters and katsu items. Of course, we had to try the tea too! Wonderful platters, cutlery, and the service was fantastic. Our server was attentive and friendly and our food was second-to-none. They gave us 15% off if you share their social media handles and follow them - good deal to me! They also do take away, which we will both be using at some point! Toilet facilities were kept clean, the music added a great atmosphere and we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves! HIGHLY recommended if you enjoy authentic cultural foods, or just wanna try something different.

We've found a new place to eat. I would recommend dining in for the best experience as a lot of this food doesn't travel well. We also picked a late lunch and practically had the restaurant to ourselves! All dishes were fresh, cooked perfectly. We're definitely going back!

I am very sad to leave a bad rating but this is because I found plastic while I was eating a sushi roll from this restaurant. It was a clear piece of plastic wrapped around my salmon sushi roll...the chef probably forgot to remove it after he finished shaping and cutting the food. If I hadn't noticed, I probably would have ingested it and gotten sick or worse.. this is very very careless and unhygienic.. the staff should pay more attention, please! I'll still give this restaurant a chance, as the food wasn't bad and I'm happy to change my review if I get consistent good quality from now on. But so far, the plastic in the food is unacceptable! If they don't pay attention with this or if they use cheap quality plastic film.. then I can't imagine what else they do in the kitchen.. this is 1 star, sorry!! But will order again and see if it improves.

Went there Tuesday around lunch time. We were greeted warmly by our server Dipa. We ordered Seared salmon maki, chicken katsu omelette rice and bbq beef kimchi don. The food was excellent and made to order plus the service was great too!Dipa our server was very attentive and very polite. Will definitely be back.

I was really impressed with this place. It is a great addition to the local area. I tried the okonomiyaki and it did not disappoint. I've never seen this dish outside Japan so it was pretty amazing to find it in Wolverhampton and it was really authentic. Well worth a try. Japanese fried chicken was tasty too, albeit a little on the small side.

Delicious Japanese beef rice bowl. Best gyuudon I have had outside Japan. Nobody else was in the restaurant around 15:00, so it was very quiet but that's fine with me. Very fast and polite service.

Food was so tasty! I had edamame, octopus balls and Japanese steamed dumplings. There is no other place in Wolverhampton that serves great Asian food so I will definitely be returning! Students get 10% off also! Service was great! I went on my own and I wasn’t made to feel singled out 😁

this is such amazing Japanese food! the service is so good and the young waitress (not too sure of her name) was so kind and helpful and catered to our needs! We had a decent amount of food and although it came out at different times it was all fresh and delicious and portion size is decent, defo recommend! x

Completely recommend, food was delicious, served with a friendly demeanour and an amazing atmosphere to go with! Floor could use a bit of a sweep but other than that I have 0 complaints! Will definitely return to enjoy some more high quality food and service!

We had a very nice lunch at Hi Tokyo today. The sushi is prepared with love and care. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful too. We will be back again.
