I photographed a wedding here in 2022 and loved the low ceilings and the industrial vibe. The venue has some cool spots for group shots and there's some rad looking streets around for more couples photos.

Loved the experience. Good fresh food although if you choose from 2 menus at your table you pay 2 separate bills! A beautiful food hall. Staff pleasant and efficient.

The worst customer experience I've ever experienced. I tried to use a gift voucher that somebody kindly bought me for my birthday to pay for some drinks in the beer hall. The voucher wouldn't redeem at the till so I offered to pay in cash and asked who to speak to about the voucher, then the person serving me laughed in my face and said words to the effect of "that amount of money means nothing to me, but you can follow it up if you're that bothered about it". I raised a complaint about him to James' Places and they didn't bother to get back to me. I won't be giving them by custom again!

We have been to the food hall a few times for a coffee and a bite to eat. The food is always good and the service is good. It can get very busy and a struggle to find a table around lunchtime. It's a very popular place for the "ladies who lunch " and discuss their busy lives. How long can you sit with an empty coffee cup talking about yourself? Apart from that, there is a great selection of different foods for sale around the food Hall. The car park gets very full as well.

Hotel brewery and bar with bowling. Also a food hall selling mainly local produce. Bowland brewery beer is good. Pilsner nice. The bar is in a mill with a beam engine still there. Nice walks nearby.

Where do I start. All was cool until two of our party didn't get their order, some 20min later and after everyone else had finished their meals arrived. We were offered 15% off. This was appreciated but we had to then sift through the bill to sort out how much everyone had to pay. A manager was asked to sort out the mess but to be honest he looked scared stiff and as quickly as he appeared he walked off. Absolutely ruined our day trip. There are loads of places to eat, just don't pick this one

Great selection of ale and good Guinness. We tried the chicken wings, Mac and cheese, fries and nachos. All of which was great! The Guinness tasted great but wasn't in the correct glass, so it's a 5/10 for the Guinness. Highly recommend this place. We visited around 3pm on a Thursday, nice relaxed atmosphere and dog friendly!

So I am writing this review as a wedding photographer. This was my first time visiting the mill for a wedding on the 27th December 2023. I would say parking can be an issue as they have no main car park. They have a small car park however you have to pay £10 after 3 hours which I was unaware of, so its mainly street parking. The staff are lovely, Stella, Sam and Charlie where very welcoming and the staff have a friendly approach which made it feel as if I had worked there multiple times in the past. Good rapport. Food was great and the facilities where fantastic too. I would be more than happy to return to this wedding venue within the future should I get any bookings as it was a real pleasure.

I love photographing weddings at Holmes Mill! I get to shoot here quite a few times a year and every time the team knock it out of the park! Some really cool spots for photographs which makes it a pleasure working here! Fantastic, unique venue for a wedding!

Stayed here for my Brother in Law's 50th birthday bash, room was small but comfortable, bar was very busy early on but settled down as the evening went on, food was straightforward and well priced and delivered quickly seeing it was a Saturday night. All in all great one stop shop for food drinks and a place to stay.

Having never been to Clithero. I was recommended that I visit Holmes Mill for a coffee. I can say that this is a beautiful place and the atmosphere is great and fresh. I will visit the shop, bar and restaurant properly when I return with the family.

Nice cafe, staff friendly, very clean, access to disabled toilet not brilliant with heavy door. Food nice. Prices quite high but unusual bits, alot that isn't local though

Excellent reinvention of former industrtial unit . Moribund during my life time. Vivacious now. Great easy reading menu. Many beers. A delight.

Excellent pub with great character. There were about 18 different ales on tap when I visited and fortunately they sell 1/3 pints so you have a better chance of working your way through them all. Next time I visit I plan not to be designated driver

Great afternoon, great service, good staff. Will be visiting again really soon. Out of our way but worth the travel. One girl who worked there was particularly great, warm service, funny. Asked her name and she told us her name was Isabel. Very good

We had our wedding at Holmes Mill in November and had the perfect day! The venue is beautiful and all the staff and wedding coordinators are just incredible. We can’t believe how perfect the day went. Everything was so organised and they really helped us feel relaxed and well cared for. In the lead up to the day the communication was was great and all questions answered. If you’re looking for a wedding venue then 100% consider Holmes Mill!

As a wedding band, we see a LOT of venues up and down the country. It was such a delight to perform here and we look forward to returning every time. The room is set up perfectly for a great party atmosphere. It honestly looks incredible and the staff are so helpful. Nice work guys!

We love it here ! This is the fourth time we have visited. We have been on our own as a couple and also with our 7 year old son ( with a 'z bed' in our room. Staff are also helpful, welcoming and friendly. The rooms are always beautiful, bright and clean. The bathrooms are well laid out, spacious and luxurious with powerful showers and luxury L'occitane products. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits available. Comfortable beds and bedding make a great night sleep. Breakfast is so fresh, tasty and locally sourced with great choice. Great offers too. A fantastic break. Thank you so much holmes mill - we can't wait to come back soon !!

Had wedding reception there. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The staff without exception were friendly, polite and efficient. Service impeccable. Food was perfect all round. Place was buzzing. Hope to get back for a short break.

Visited at lunchtime and was greeted by very friendly staff. The building and bar itself is fascinating along with the Bowland Brewery equipment at the back and original mill wheels and cabling in the room to the left of the main bar area. Prices are very fair with an extensive menu and vast range of drinks.

Decent selection of real ales, and the aesthetic of the place is really cool; however, the food at the bar is unacceptable. There are reviews of good food, and I think they are NOT refering to the bar food, but actually the food from the deli shop (which I haven't tried, but looks good in pictures). The food at the bar was some of the worst bar food I have ever had, stay away from it! Crispy buttermilk chicken burger - soo salty it was almost inedible. New York deli style sandwich - pathetically small for a whopping £13 - just a few puny strips of pastrami on thin over toasted bread - honestly, I don't know how they could serve that with a straight face for the price (and the serving of chips was also very stingy). Everyone else's food also looked poor quality, especially for the price - I would avoid the bar food completely, as disappointment and a feeling of being ripped off is pretty much a sure thing. In summary, good for beers. Unfortunately, bar food is unacceptably poor quality for the price - some of it was almost inedible. The deli shop food may be much better, and is the source of the "good food" people are talking about in the reviews - I didn't get to try it though so not sure.

Amazing Place to eat and dogs welcome. Food was excellent and plentiful, reasonably priced and the service (Dougie) was top notch can't fault anything. This is our second time visiting and will definitely be coming again. Can't recommend it highly enough.

What a beautiful place! Pastries, all types of food and gifts. You can shop and have a great meal as well. Spirits and wine are available and the pub in back has an original steam engine from the mill in the center! Worth a visit. The only downside is the parking, of which, there is very little.

Shame, food was very average, was superb last year. Wine was served warm. No napkins and not enough cutlery. No sauces offered. Toilets were awful, no toilet roll, and dryer not working. Sorry but truthful feedback is best x

Great. Fantastic section of beers in massive bar. Friendly staff. Could sample the beers beforehand. Had a Bowlands honey Beer. Lovely.

Very nice bar with a great beer selection so if you want a drink only it would be excellent. The table service for food was absolutely shocking however. Had to go and get a waitress to take our food order, food took over an hour to arrive and plates came one at a time for over the course of 15 minutes with some items arriving cold. Such a letdown for what is a nice venue. Been twice now with similar issues.

Second time visiting and it looks even better than before with what It offers, with so much to do now, including bowling, Everyman Cinema with actual sofa's, and more. We ate in the main pub part near to the bar and couldn't resist the home made pies, one Steak and one Cheese & Onion - so delish!!! Service good, great surroundings, although we questioned the interior design choice of clear plastic chairs to go with such a beautiful building (each to their own huh). A definite must visit if in the region

Brother-in-law took me here in between Xmas & New Year. Had heard from friends about this place being decent prior to this and I was not disappointed. An incredible bar, with an superb décor and atmosphere. Me being an Ale drinker, I was very happy. I didn't eat, though I'm told the food is very good - will be sure to return to sample the food again soon. We went on foot, but it was clear to see parking could be a bit problematic here on account of how busy things were. On the other hand, the fact that something is busy at least shows they're doing something right.

An extremely yummy steak ciabatta! Good service and the coffee is ace. Recommended if you're in Clitheroe.

It's a super cool bar, atmosphere is great. The decor is brilliant, can get very busy and the car park can be a pain to get a spot but if you manage it then it's 3 hours for free.

A very well presented place and a great thing for the town but severely lacking in the service department. What good is having one of the longest bars in the country if it is run so badly? Service here has never been efficient but it only seems to get worse. A shame really because it could be so much better. The food side of things, however, is pretty good in terms of quality and price.

In a word FANTASTIC. An amazing setting, fabulous conversion, well presented. Superb choice of beer and cider and the food was decent, especially great value for the kids menu.

Big disappointment - been here several times and enjoyed it, but gone downhill now. Still got a fantastic range of beers, but maybe that's part of the problem - the pint of their own brew was flat and lifeless. Food very poor and overpriced for what is just pub food, and the convoluted ordering process had everyone confused. I felt so sorry for a poor bride and family standing forlornly round a table waiting for someone to help them. Won't be back.
