    I was shocked at some of the reviews because we had absolutely no issue with our stay at the hotel. The staff was super friendly, rooms clean, water throughout our stay, backup power for load shedding days. Beautiful views of the dam and their pool is inviting. Apart for the hotel not allowing alcohol into the premises, i loved everything about our stay there and will definitely be going back

    If you value your cash don't book them, here's why: - Stuff very rude - They have one orange old iron for the whole hotel - Everything is falling apart in their units, there is nothing working - Buffet is expensive and very basic - There are no directions or warnings - No food or alcohol allowed - Towels are dirty - Toiletries are very limited - No entertainment - Service horrible

    Not a place to visit, let alone stay at, again. Your driveway is a hazard to vehicles, no room service, no finger/light food after dinner, menu needs an upgrade, upgrade the chef while you're at it, very poor lighting makes walking from rooms to main area a hazard. Revamped rooms were not bad but the bathroom door was too big for the frame so it couldn't close. Flies everywhere with nothing to prevent them from sitting on everything on your table. Beautiful scenery & clean rooms though!!

    Staff members (security, reception and restaurant) are very welcoming and super friendly. We booked for lunch buffet, and the food was delicious. Everyone amongst our group did enjoy the food. The service from the restaurant staff members was extremely good. The place is well maintained and very clean. Everybody amongst the group loved the environment. Accommodation also clean and tidy. Everything in the room was perfectly working. Our stay was amazing. Many thanks to Roodevalley Team

    Beautiful location however the place has since deteriorated. They did not have running water for half the time we were there. Our workshop was 3 days at the place and for all those 3 days, 2 and a half of those days there was no running water. Their location is perfect as a place away from the office for retreats it had a beautiful peace of mind. The staff that took care of us for our food gave us very good attention and that was very much appreciated. They were amazing.

    The place is very beautiful and very quiet but their cistomer service was not, no towels in the bathroom, I requested them but it took them the whole day to bring after I called twice! I requested them to assist with the air conditioning when it was not turning on but they didn't come and it was very cold that night.. I had to report the following day for the other shift to come and assist.

    The Room was amazing, great facility for relaxing and unwinding. However I am not happy with the food and the menu. Alil bit pricey for a small portion of porkchop and chips that you can count, the menu didn't have many options for us to choose on Dinner buffet was great but the beef was too oily and the juice its like it was Drinkopop. Just try and upgrade the kitchen. I had expectations of good food. But after all the stay was amazing 🙌

    We arrived at reception to a quart bottle broken on the ground and dirty glasses all over the coffee tables and seating area. That unfortunately sets the tone for how the stay would be. We turned around and left.

    DO NOT! and I repeat DO NOT BOOK HERE if you value your money and here's why. 1. The service is below par 2. The food is horrible 4. There is no bar fridge or microwave in the rooms 5. They just made our beds and didn't sweep or hoover the carpet 6. No activities 7. No spoons for tea just wooden sticks 8. The waiters tend to you after a very long time and yet expect a tip, Cash 9. The place smells sewage. Broken pipe somewhere. 10. Filth everywhere. It's no 3 star,it shouldn't have any start at all. Those pictures that look nice are old pictures don't fall for it. And just read the sacarstic responses by Werner and the Roodevalley team,this just shows you their attitude towards customer service. These people need to go to some places and learn. I believe the positive responses here are written by their friends and family, can't be real. Madlangi Clean,renovate,fix the sewer,improve your service,upgrade Edit because I can't reply. I'm married of course the booking is gonna be in my husband's name. And no I'm not contacting you,I'm too busy enjoying my stay elsewhere. The time you spend writing condescending responses you could be improving your place. Bye

    The hotel is peaceful and relaxing, the staff is friendly and there is a beautiful view of the river which is perfect for picnics. They don't want food and alcohol from outside ☚ī¸đŸ˜­, that'll be my first and last visit there. The roads need to be fixed and well maintained , because of potholes.

    I have been here for 2 hours and I can't wait to check out. I have never been so miserable. I really hate it here. I'm here with my 2 kids, we were told we can't bring our own food, but their food is horrible. After I complained the waitress brought me 2 dry slices of bread for my kid to eat and that is apparently R60? Already we stood outside waiting for a table for close to 45 Min. We were seated at 7pm but we only got that awful food at 20:10 and at the time my kids were beginning to fall asleep. I don't know what I'll feed them for the rest of the weekend as there are no shops around. SOS

    My husband and I had a pleasant weekend stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and the outdoor areas were absolutely beautiful. However, we did notice a slight unpleasant smell in the bathroom and the towels looked a bit worn out. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the restaurant staff provided friendly and quick service. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for our spa experience. While the package we booked looked good on paper, it was a waste of our time and money. The massage room was not welcoming, and the air-con was loud and seemed broken. We also noticed that the maroon towels were dirty. The therapists didn't seem to be very knowledgeable or experienced, and they kept leaving the room to fetch things from the other massage room. One therapist even had a cold and was coughing during the massage. Overall, our spa experience was disappointing, and it was my first negative spa experience ever. while we enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the spa service fell short of our expectations.

    Yes ,n I wudnt recommend it to anyone, what a disappointment, picnic setup was the lousiest I hv ever seen m experienced just a cold platter dirty white throws ,n tht wine n ur staf was gone for ever till sunset when we headed to our room.massage was ok ,friendly but ur towels need to be changed n that room is just toooo small not welcoming at all. maroon worn out towels even in ur massage bathroom ur towels are soooooo worn out.just disappointed, but like i say let ur prices match ur service.looks can be deceiving

    Great location and great service from front desk, but leak of communication between departments. I will not recommend this place. Also it's a hassle if you book online, internal communication problems. It's a real struggle if you book online. We booked for two weekends in a row and after the first weeks incident we couldn't cancel our second weekend. So we just had to come again hoping it would be better then the first. First week The restaurant manager (Chris Botha) needs customers service training. He's rude, not very helpful and don't know how to talk to people. Second week Started nice, with the complementary champagne to apologise for the first week. We went to reception to book for the buffet for the next day, we were told to do the buffet booking at reception. The Muriel (receptionist) told us to book at the restaurant. Joseph (restaurant supervisor) told us there will not be a buffet and only a la carte will be served that day. The next day we went to the restaurant, to find out that there was a buffet and they only serve light meals on a la cart. The there's no one with clear communication to what's happening.

    Upon arrival, the receptionists are friendly and do their best to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms are neat. However, the aircon is not really working. The restaurant is 50/50, some meals are scrumptious and others are not up to hotel standards. The staff is usually friendly and helpful. The location is not too far from the city, with shops and restaurants close by. I would recommend that the road get patched up by the inner security cabin. The fishing is enjoyable, and you barely get a chance to put on new bait before your next bite. So if you enjoy jumping for the rod. This is the place to fish.

    The pictures don't really match the physical place. I was so excited to get there when I watched the photos of the place, but I have to say the service was disappointing. Our room's aircon wasn't working and there was no hot water so we had to be moved to another room. That room as well didn't seem to be prepared, it looked as if someone had just moved out so they quickly dusted and fixed the bed, the big pillow was stinky and the shower floors weren't so clean. There was literally no WiFi. The food was just okay, nothing to write home about. This review is written 1 year later but I still haven't forgotten how that stay was so below average, it felt like we were in one of the lodges that people pay when they want to have one night stands, and to make it worse, room service stuff did the worst job at refreshing the room. They came in when were out and "cleaned" the room, when we came back there was this funny smell, the one you get when you used a dirty mop to clean, it was so uncomfortable I just wanted to go home

    I was there for a wedding on the 9/12/2022 and I've never had digusting food like that in my life from a hotel. Oxtail was hard as ever,rice was cooked a day before because had a funny smell,chicken stew was just watering. Would never ever go there to eat or to stay.

    The rooms are clean and nice and the pool is lovely but the service is not great. We asked for 1 blanket and they took an hour to bring it. The restaurant has very few plant-based options and they are slow. There is also a foul smell leading up to the property coming from the farm across the street. It's also not well maintained, it really needs a paint job.

    A beautiful gem but staff is in desperate need for training. This place could be so ideal, but the service is non existence,sadly. A room for two with one towel even after requesting for another towel still have not received it. I will not suggest this place to anyone until staff get trained on client service.

    Staff are pleasant, room was great with an awesome view. River bank not cleaned often with litter clearly visible. Stay was made unpleasant by a large group from a school that were very noisy till all hours of the morning. Hotel would do well to notify guests before booking that there is a large group booked so that guests can decide whether they want to still book or not.

    Recently had a 1 night stay here and left feeling happy and impressed. The staff had no problem with me dropping my bags early before check-in time was open and were ready to help me when I arrived back to check in. The first room I was in was one of the garden cottages and it wasn't amazing. The rooms felt dark and old and unfortunately the wifi didn't reach that room. When I asked if they could search for another room to move me into that may have better wifi signal, they were very apologetic and upgraded me to their King Suite in their new hotel rooms. I was very impressed. The room was large and airy. There were fresh carpets and a nice clean, modern bathroom. Unfortunately after only working for 1hr, the wifi stopped working in the room and I could only connect to it when in the common areas. That was unfortunate. The rest of my stay was pleasant. The food for both dinner and breakfast was very nice and the staff were helpful. It's a pity the wifi spoiled this stay but if that is fixed in the near future, I'd be more than happy to stay here again.

    My stay was excellent but this hotel refused to give us confirmation letters to indicate that we were there and because of that, the Department didn't pay our allowance, we are still amazed of their attitude, we never experience this in all the hotels which hosted us. Those who are working for the Deputy of Education must think twice before booking that Hotel.
