There's ping pong, exercise equipment, classes and they are open during loadshedding. They have their own private parking space around the back that you use your tag to get into. The staff are kind, friendly and helpful. The gym is kept in incredible condition, everything is clean and sanitized. The other gym goers are friendly and help to spot you. The music choice is great. Has a view over the Fourways crossing parking lot, which includes a doggy day care so if you have good eye sight you can watch the pups playing. There's also an outside area on the balcony which seems like a cool place to exercise. The equipment is in fairly good condition, with only one or two machines not tracking exercise properly. When there is loadshedding they open up the sky lights to let natural light in, but they close off the parking entrance. Bathrooms are well maintained and clean. The music takes a while to start to play again after loadshedding as they bring out a portal speaker. Overall, more open plan, bigger and slightly nicer view than Rosebank and has some advantages over Hillfox. Equipment in better condition too. The exercise class's room has a motion sensor that switches on the light when you walk in so that's pretty cool. The actual tag that you get when you sign up allows you to go to any branch which is really nice if you are in different areas a lot. However the water fountains inside have weird pressure so filling up bottles can either be really quick or really slow. Overall very nice gym.

Fourways branch still doesn’t have backup power. This is unacceptable. Load shedding has been around for a decade, and the gym hasn’t taken adequate steps to provide backup power for treadmills or even lighting on the floor. The gym shouldn’t be open if the floor is so dark as this is an unsafe environment to be gyming. Poor management and planning

I have been there for almost 2 years now and i love it. Great community. Great staff. It is well run , The team / Owner are constantly improving the gym year around. Would highly recommend !

Impressed that they have maintained the high standard after so many years. Was last here in 2015. Machines clean and well serviced. Staff pleasant, attentive and helpful. Great job Viva team.

I've complained multiple times about broken equipment around the gym that's been broken for over two years and nothing has happened. constant get told the 'Maintenance man will be informed" I'm honestly done with Viva gym and I am not gonna renew my contact. Id rather spend the extra R250 rand a month for Virgin Gym because you get a pool and a sauna. Edit: during load shedding, there is no back up generator. so no water. I do not recommend Viva gym.

A place to call “zen” and give back to yourself. My best trainer for personal training is Paul. Chris at reception is really kind and accommodating. Thank you for being a place of fitness and refresh.

What a pleasant surprise this gym has been. Plenty of equipment, great lighting, plenty of open doors for fresh air. Big studio spaces. Definitely worth it if you stay in the area.

Love the vibe and the atmosphere in this Gym. Really has a motivating feel. The staff are always happy and smiling with a super encouraging attitude that really makes you feel welcomed. They are super helpful and really show the effort when assisting you. So happy I made the switch as the facilities are absolutely incredible. Great space, all the equipment you need and more. They may not have a pool but they sure make up for it in every other department. Fantastic gym. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area looking for a great place to workout.

I'm very disappointed to find out that Viva gym fourways doesn't operate when there is load shedding, you'd expect such a nice facility to have a back up generator just to have the lights on for clients who want to use equipment that requires no electricity. This is unprofessional and low class in my view.

The place is clean but the employees are iffy didn’t end up signing up, which I don’t recommend joining a Gym anyway as I have yet to meet one that is easy to end memberships with ( like LA Fitness and Planet Fitness) doubt this company will be any different. I won’t be signing gym contracts anymore for sure.

It’s a good gym, doesn’t get full, meaning there’s always equipment available, especially if you’re there for cardio. The staff is friendly, I haven’t had any bad experiences with any of them. The place is also well kept, very clean

I have been at Viva Gym for 3 years now, what a fantastic establishment. Professional and friendly staff. Clean facilities. World class equipment. Great WiFi. Secure changing room lockers. Secure safe parking. This is a gym I would highly recommend and the all round vibe of the gym is just spectacular.

I have always loved Viva. But recently your members book 3 or 4 machines and make themselves a mini circuit. It's very selfish and I actually walked out of the gym today as I could not find a machine to work on. Gym is my down time... And don't go to argue with other members about how selfish they are. Please make some form of rule in this regard. Thanks

I usually go during the day, not crowded and there is enough gym equipment. I've never attended morning or evening sessions.

No long-term contract,thats a bonus if you're not sure about the commitment

I was a member of Viva Gym for about a year and am now ending my contract due to emigration. I want to thank the staff and management of Viva for providing excellent facilities at an affordable rate, which has been integral to my fitness journey. Towards the end of my membership, I traveled to Cape Town and had to visit a different gym there. I paid an exorbitant day rate, the weights were so old that they had lost their markings so I had no idea what I was lifting, the floor was filthy, and the gym was completely overcrowded despite me going at off-peak times. Coming back to neat, clean, well-stocked Viva at the end of my trip was like returning home and I breathed a sigh of relief as I walked through the Viva doors. Keep it up, Viva!

This gym is great, I just feel as though they need to add more gym equipments. They have way too many treadmill that take up the space for light weightlifting machines.

Not a fan of this gym at all. It is way too small and there are far too few machines. They could have way better utilized their space and at least put a few more machines in. One of the worst things about a gym is having to wait for a machine... this happens every time I am at this gym. There have always been numerous complaints about locker theft.

Very convenient to stop on our way home. The gym is reasonably priced and got all the necessary equipment we need.

It's really a great gym, small but manageable. Things have recently changed, for the past few weeks, they implemented a rule that they will not switch on the Aircon "unless if there is a class" this means that if you want to cycle or do Cardio individually , you have to put up with room temperature In SUMMER. During week days in the afternoon, we barely have cold water available in some of the dispensers and no one communicates what the reason could potentially be.

It's beginning to feel like a horrible gym 3 times now i go to gym in the morning and need to get ready for work and there's no water only to be told that when there's loadshedding there won't be water why don't they have a back up generator or communicate with their customers about their loadshedding schedule I'm beyond irritated 🚮

The gym staff are friendly and always greet you when you enter and exit. I think the gym is a good value for the monthly membership too. Something that is shocking to me is that members don’t wipe down the equipment after they’ve used it. That’s just nasty. The cleaning staff does a great job of cleaning the gyp and equipment 7 days per week. But come on y’all! They aren’t cleaning up after you. You should clean the equipment after you’re finished. Some, only some people pay a towel down on the equipment as they are using it but what about all those places you touched where your towel didn’t protect? I can’t believe people want to workout on a machine after someone just dropped their sweat all over it...disgusting!
