Can’t cancel membership over the phone in a PANDEMIC.

Imagine having such a bad experience at the gym and having someone tell you they will cancel your membership only to find it went to collections. Imagine going in and never getting a key tag, never seeing someone behind the desk awake and alert, and finding staff asleep in n the offices. Yeah, it’s insane. Imagine now voicing your complaint outside of a public review only to continue getting harassed through messages to come back and sign up AFTER telling this club to stop sending messages. Yeah. This is a nightmare. Stop texting me. I’m not rejoining or coming back. Your club is unkept, unprofessional, and your staff is lazy.

Members of this gym steal clothes out of your locker if you don't have your lock or forget one. Lack of integrity at this gym. Beware. Treadmills are broken/ need maintenance this has been reported multiple time with no improvments. (This Is a safety issue) It is hard to cancel your membership. They will make you jump through hoops to quiet or won't cancel your membership. (Know your legal rights and don't play into their game) Staff is also very rude and they don't care. I suspect this place is/will go under in time.

This facility is hands down disgusting. From the equipment to the walls it is dirty and run down. They advertise a women's only room, however male instructors teach classes in the "women's only area" apparently they don't know what that means. Broken TVs, holes in the walls, broken plumbing, machines, you name it. Even though the price is good the facility IS NOT.

I haven't be able to visit the gym since the lock-down. Gym has been opened and closed, and only at 25% capacity when opened. Because of all of this, I haven't been able to visit the gym in 9 months, but my bank has been getting charged every month for the membership. Today, I called to cancel the membership as my wife and I both have COVID and cannot go out in public. Upon calling and telling the desk worker I wanted to cancel, they put me on hold and then hung up. I called back asking to speak to the manager, which I got to after being on hold ten minutes. I explained the situation and just wanted to cancel my membership due to COVID. He refused, stating we have to come in to sign away the membership, it's their policy. I tried explaining policies don't work during a pandemic and I can't come in there and risk getting people sick to cancel a membership. He hung up on me. I've since called my bank and will be having the charges reversed and having the merchant blocked from charging my bank again. I'll also be contacting the county board of health to let them know the manager of this gym insisted I come into their place of business, after having a positive COVID test, risking the health of everyone there. There was no need for the lack of professionalism and I will again emphasize, their policy doesn't work for a country in a pandemic. I didn't ask for the entire year returned to me, just to cancel the membership.

Club is dirty, staff are condescending, first and only time I ever went there were people getting sick in the bathroom. The only positive is the women’s only portion. Which is so tiny in comparison to the rest of the gym. Canceling this membership is extremely hard and very expensive. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Especially not for $40 a month. Planet Fitness is cheaper and better.

I rejoined in April pools been down for over 4 months now. The tanning bed #3 I reported to front desk about being disgusting ( hair and I've got no clue what the white blotches are ) over a week later , they put me back in 3 and it was the same . Fan was caked in lint and still laying on the floor. Half of the equipment is always down. They claim to service them every other week or every week depends on who you talk to . The woman's locker room , they honestly should be providing hazmat suits to go in there. Two toilets are down , the handicap one has been down since rejoining. So I don't see how they say they can accommodate people with handicaps. The trash cans are always overflowing , most of the time no paper towels, and always check to make sure there is toilet paper. The only reason I gave a 2 star is because of parking, hours , and the gentleman I deal with at nights.

I actually just left the gym and was blatantly disrespected by the day manager KP. I went in to renew my membership which me and him discussed over the phone A certain price but when I went in he wanted me to pay $149 extra. Which I did not mind paying because clearly it was all a big misunderstanding and miscommunication. When I asked him why he told me a certain price over the phone but now is charging me extra he got extremely defensive and started being rude. And he got really upset when I told him “ I don’t know what your problem is but if you’re having a bad day I would like to speak with someone else”. Overall I really like the gym and how spacious it is but the manager KP was very disrespectful.

Sadly based on reviews alone I am too worried about my money and the cleanliness. I won't even risk my hard earned loot being played with ! Moving right along 🚶

Never met a trainer nor worked out one drop due to a car accident immediately after signing up. They keep telling me come in to cancel, I'VE BEEN IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT I'M UNABLE TO COME IN, a month later I'm more mobile I go in now my balance needs to be paid before I can cancel!! I'm sure they just want to take another 200+ from me while I continue to struggle through. Thanks a lot #GetRippedOff

Come for the workout. Stay because you got the bubonic plague from a place that doesn't apparently know what the word "clean" means. This place is DIRTY. The machines and benches are in need of serious repair. I cut myself on a bench press because a nail was sticking out of it. Not a screw - a NAIL. WTH is a nail doing in a bench press?!. There's a reason their memberships are so cheap. EDIT: Yes, I am/ was a member. No, this is not my real name.

When I joined a few years back, this gym was great. All the equipment was working and the staff was friendly and on top of maintaining things or addressing issues with guests. Nowadays, things unfortunately feel like they are starting to go downhill which is sad because me and my mom would like to stay members because of the location, but we are seriously considering canceling. The pool has been out of order for a very long time now, even more so the heat for the pool was broken longer than that. The cardio theater was my favorite section of the gym, but it seems that their projector breaks for some time and needs repairs, or movies are not streamed. I understand some dvds don't have autoplay, however today we went and my mom asked about the projector not working because a movie was being advertised. The front desk said they would send someone and never did within the hour to play the movie. My mom isn't as techsavvy, so she didn't know how to work say a music player or phone to stream things on while she worked out. Machines are also getting a little dirty. I appreciate the sanitation stations and people are very good at wiping things down when they finish using them, however if you get a good look, things could seriously use a deep clean.

Be very wary of their cancellation policies, as they are designed to trick you, prolong the process, and get more of your money. I don’t know who their social media specialist is.. but you’ll need to do better. You respond to negative reviews under anonymous names saying “we have no record of doing business with you” but for reviews that are five stars.. with no commentary (filler reviews to boost google rating).. you say “thank you for your review!” LOL. Newsflash - most people don’t use their real name when leaving google reviews. It doesn’t negate the validity of their experience. The gym is dirty, machines are often broken, staff stand around on their phones at the front and can’t answer any questions, and management has no clue what true customer service is. Did I mention a lot of the machines are often broken? I cancelled my membership a few months back after I went to move a bench and a nail sticking out the bottom cut my finger.. and i contemplated signing up again (now) bc the biggest incentive is that they are open 24hours. That contemplation subsided once I read these reviews and saw that someone else cut their finger on the SAME nail I did months ago!! And I made staff AWARE of it when it happened! Never again.

Please increase the general cleaning at your facility. This really should be your #1 focus as it doesn't require a qualified person like a personal trainer. Just clean up better, lots of people comment about this.

I love my routine that I’ve created from having a personal trainer, to friends, to associates at GNC helping me with getting it together. I like that fact that Get Fit is open 24 hours that way there’s no excuse for me to not go to the gym. Now that my training days are over I still ask the trainer’s questions and they kindly answer I appreciate their help. I also watch others and get motivated by their exercises as well. Consistency is key Good Luck on your journey 💙🦾

Been a member for several years thoughts below. The Good the bad and the okay below The good Price - 9/10 decently priced. Way better that the YMCA down the street Free Weight room - 8/10. They have all basics. Would be nice if it was larger area and maybe one more squat rack. Pretty good though. Supposedly there is Weight Machines - 10/10. I don't use them, but they have everything. Parking - 10/10 never a problem The Okay Cardio rooms - 7/10. They have plenty of treadmills. Would be nice if they serviced or removed those that are out of service. Should pull some from movie area to up top. Movie room is a cool concept but it's hard to trust it's sanitary because how dark it is and if they clean it as often as bathroom then it's a problem. Other cardio equipment t available Pool - seems okay idk. Seen better, question cleanliness. The Bad Men's bathroom - 2/10 - there are two stalls and it is always SOAKED in there . There needs to be a full time custodian or dehumidifier or something else to keep it dry in there. It has never been not soaked in all the times I've ever gone here. I'm assuming women's restroom is the same but idk. Lockers are fine but they need to add a bathroom or find a better solution for this. 100% worst part of the gym and sole reason for my review. Part of it is that it's stalls are connected to pool entrance and showers. Will get your shorts/pants drenched if used and will get your shoes soaked even if you use urinals. Complete oversight Overall this gym is the best option on the east side, but could improve sanitation wise in bathrooms. Hope this review has any impact on that.

If I could give zero stars I would this place is horrible and unsanitary on top of that they’re privately owned so the manager is as high as it goes they tried billing me 3 times when they weren’t suppose to causing me to receive a bunch of fees and when I brought it to their attention the manager told me it was nothing they could do and they would continue charging me regardless this gym isn’t worth the money I recommend going elsewhere they don’t clean and the staff is rude

I have to change my review, unfortunately. I dont suggest hiring a personal trainer here. That said, I never feel like it's overcrowded and the pool always has a lane open. Having a separate 'women only' area to work out is amazing. The gym is clean and you see more people cleaning off equipment after use than not.

I did not use this membership, I continued to pay even though I did not use it...I got it to use the pool which closed for maintenance a week later. It was closed for about a month . Then winter came and work hours increased and I did not have time to use the pool and I am not a pool in the winter person I have health issues. There also is no elevator due to health I can not use that amount of stairs. Communication is awful no one asked if I needed help. It was later communicated to me that they could put the account on hold if I was not using it ...I was never told this prior to covid. During the Covid 19 crisis they continued to take money even though there were closed. Instead of refunding the money they gave me a credit for a membership I do not use.During the pandemic I sent several emails that were not answered because they were closed yet they still took the money. I was very disappointed this was not the environment for me!

The place is great! Super affordable & convenient. Always clean. If KC is available I highly recommend, this guy is professional but so laid back and knows his s**t.

Will charge for services not even able available and will straight up lie to you saying mask are not mandatory but yet marion county say thay are starting friday. I will not pay for services not available. This place is just plain corrupt. When I changed my credit card I went in and inform the front desk and gave them the new card number. And I still got charged for late fees due to the front desk mistake. Just went in to cancell my membership because I can not use the services I paid for and was told they would still charge me for another month plus a cancellation fee. So they can charge you for services you pay for but cant use and still want to charge you even more and even threatening you with taken you to court. I hope they do because I can prove they over charged me for a couple of months. Never again will I ever use this place and I signed a contract with golds gym not get fit.

Use to be a nice environment but to many people holding up weights and machines while they’re video recording. I’m going to find a gym that bans video recordings. I do not enjoy being in strangers videos.

Just got a membership and came for the first time and I love it. If you come really early or really late it's not as crowded. I love that they have a women's room and a Cinema room as well. The best part is they are 24/7!

Super clean & super friendly! Kc is by far my favorite! Everyone makes you feel so comfortable & taken care of!

My husband and I joined May 27th this year. I was a member a few years ago but just quit coming. So I got my husband to join me and one of the biggest important advantage was because of the pool. 😠 At the time we joined we were told it should be repaired about 2 weeks and here it is August 4th and not done it’s discouraging and frustrating for one agreeing to join for 2 years. I spoke with the manager about the pool situation and he didn’t really have any answers except just waiting for the part to come in and also I wrote a statement to the manager it’s in my file. At the time we signed up the agreement was that we had to come together to our agreement for the sales deal so later in that week I got to thinking later that week what if one of us couldn’t make it we were told that we had to come together or I could pay an extra so it was an extra $100 just so it would be ok in case one of us couldn’t make it. So I paid the extra money. I do however really like the staff and like going to the gym but I’m really ticked off about the pool and I wish I didn’t sign up for a 2 year membership because anything can happen in two years I should of did the monthly but it’s done unfortunately.

Absolutely worst customer service amd experience I've ever had with a gym, I had gotten sick shortly after joining tried to cancel my membership many times only to continue being billed and harassed via phone, email, and mail about my account which I had canceled months ago. Now I'm getting bills from a collections for almost 200 dollar on a gym I went to for a month before canceling. Absolutely disgusted this place scams people like this.

It’s filthy everywhere. Black mold in the ladies locker room. Called several times and spoke to a representative to cancel my membership. He called the gym and they still bill you. Awful. Let me add that their membership cancellation policy is draconian. In person, did that, certified mail(why), and/or phone call. The girl at the desk was insulting and threatened my credit score if I didn’t pay for the month.

Horrible staff experience. But i like the facility. Requested a tour since i signed up and got left hanging twice. I wanted to pay for a personal trainer and let's just say they probably thought i was just another free assessment 🤷🏻‍♀️. Unfortunately it is the closest gym to me, unless i drive to Vasa fitness. Cancelation fee is only $10 not bad at all. But imma stick for a little longer

my boyfriend has a membership through work that allows him to take one person when he goes...there’s tanning you can swim I believe there’s a spa, and obviously working out the place is very clean and the people are very friendly. their tanning beds are decent and get pretty hot. Overall this place is awesome!!

Worst gym I have ever used. Missing weights, dirty bathroom, equipment is old, employees are rude and the atmosphere is horrible. Noone enforces the mask policy or the disinfectant policy. After eight a member for two years they still make you pay extra to cancel. Would not recommend this gym to anyone. La fitness is cheaper and better.

Let me just start by saying that this gym is legit - it used to be a Gold's Gym. This is the best priced gym in Indy. The people who come here to work out are here to focus and work hard - you won't find gossipy hens, time wasters, or social butterflies here. Indiana's very own Keanu "THE IRON TAJ" Patel makes this gym elite. A true meat head, this competitive bodybuilder legend is very knowledgeable about bodybuilding, nutrition, personal training, gym membership sales, etc. He has made my get some major muscle Gainz. The dawg man ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff. Look no further if you want to get jacked. Get Fit + Keanu aka THE IRON TAJ is all you need for solid results - no pain no gain baby no pain no gain!! RAAAAAAAW!!!!!

Being a member of this gym perfectly exemplifies the "You're Getting What You Pay For" stigma: If you opt to go to LA Fitness and pay a premium price, you'll get premium service in a well-maintained facility; Conversely, if you pay a discounted price to save money......well, you end up with Get Fit. In all honesty, it isn't a bad gym: the staff and most patrons seem cordial and they have everything I need or want for a workout. On the flip side, though, there are plenty of times when the cleaning stations are either out of towels or disinfectant, and the locker room/restroom is either missing towels or dirty. Add to it, for every decent patron there is low-end East Side trash who doesn't have the slightest clue or doesn't care about proper gym etiquette. Again, it's fine for what it is, but it could be better.

This company is rude and nasty and even though they say no contract they will continue to charge your for years. I have had to file a police report and reach out to the better business bureau to get them to stop charging me. I recently suffered from an illness that has me bed bound for 6 months but even prior to that they started charging me. I've called emailed and snail mailed the business and they continue to charge me. I just recorded a call of them rudely laughing while I was trying to handle this matter in a business professionally. I SAY DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.

This gym is the worst I’ve ever seen in terms of cleanliness. The pictures aren’t even the worst it’s been. It’s actually not that bad in these compared to usual. The bathrooms are always disgusting. The womens area is not womens only. Machines are always down. One of the water fountains is broken. It’s just not very well maintained and isn’t clean at all. On the positive side - I do like that this gym offers more than treadmills. They have a decent selection of machines. They have a sauna, and it’s very nice. I haven’t used the pool because it was down but it’s a decent size, and I appreciate that it’s offered. My only wish would be for massage beds or chairs. This gym does also offer tanning. It offers a lot for the price It’s just not well kept at all.

The gym the sauna the staff the equipment but the tanning beds need new bulbs or replaced and made sure they have been wiped down and it seems that anyone can go in if not a prime member. Everything else is wonderful.

I like that we were able to get on the equipment without a over crowded wait. Good equipment but it needs a little servicing almost worn out equipment. Would be an awesome gym if they just replaced some parts of the well used equipment. Friendly environment

Best club in the area.. but there's really nothing else in the area. It's pretty clean, lots of space. Free weights can be a nightmare because unless you want a 45lbs plate, you're going to have a hard time finding them. Especially a 10 or 5 lbs. Weights are not regularly reracked, though that is more the club members. This is especially true with the dumbbells. There's two sets and most of them are all missing. Weight machines are in fairly good repair. Sauna isn't nasty, nor are the showers. I don't dislike the place, I just get tired of weight hunting. Oh, and it seems like over half the lockets are "reserved" which is a hassle during busy hours to stash your stuff

They have lots of good amenities, when working. Big place so you can always find a machine. Women only area is nice but small. One of the treadmills has been out for a couple months. Cinema is great but when movie ends it doesn't restart and no one checks. I'm usually doing my entire cardio looking at the main menu Wifi sucks. Never been able to connect. Don't want to use up my data. If you join for the extra amenities they advertise you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a place to workout. It's average.

Not bad but not good enough. Great space but equipment needs serious maintenance. For the price they are asking for memberships it's not horrible. Good place to train on a budget it's just not what I'm looking for.

Loving the gym. Good variety and hardly any need to wait on equipment. I bring my friend and we work out together. Only issue I have is the cleanliness in bathrooms but I can understand it's hard to maintain constantly with people leaving stuff everywhere. Also, would love to talk to someone about getting my 1st Phorm products on the shelf for those serious about getting built. Also, Mr Crabtree is an awesome personal trainer.

PICK. UP. YOUR GARBAGE AND YOUR WEIGHTS. Decent gym. Could be much better. Best part about it is the staff and personal trainers. They're always very friendly, they initiate small conversations with their regulars often and seem really interested in the community at the gym. Main concern is enforcement of rules. Signs up that say memberships will be canceled after leaving weights out, yet everytime I go in the entire gym is a mess half the time. Weights everywhere. Not for lack of employees trying to clean it up, it's just impossible to have someone there at all times ready to re-rack weights or put away dumbells and clean up trash. Anytime I go in I spend 10-15 minutes picking up and it looks much better. It's not that hard to be a decent human being. Half the people there treat it like a home gym and just trash it. If I can pick up your weights between my sets of 400lb deadlifts, you can put your 20lb dumbells back on the rack.

I love coming to this gym for my workouts! I signed up for personal training and have resigned up because of the atmosphere and results! The staff is always welcoming and super supportive. I also enjoy the amenities like the Cardio Cinema and tanning. They've updated the tanning areas and other aspects of the gym as well. Much appreciated!

Sauana is always in working order , everything you jeed and more for a great workout and open 24/7 even when its busy there is still plenty of equipment.

Tanning beds and entire gym needs professionally cleaned! The air ducks literally have so much nasty whatever it's awful. I explain it to the owner and he was like going to take care of it. Suddenly Ig because I honestly complained they revoked my membership lmao. I need paperwork. So email it please

First visit, not busy Sunday afternoon. Nice place, plenty of equipment. Pool is down for repairs, but should be open by end of the month. As of 9/7/22, pool is still unusable. I got chastised by several staff members because I didn't check in at the same time as my friend who has the membership and was waiting for me near the check in station. Not very welcoming for a guest. The check in tablet was having wifi issues too. The positive to my visit was seeing our favorite Trainer he always has a smile for us!

Great gym, really. Everything looks a bit older and well used, but honestly, I prefer that over nice new equipment that I'm afraid to scratch. There are lots of machines for cardio and resistance training. Also plenty of free weights. The pool is pretty well taken care of. Their sauna is very hot, usually 180-190, which is excellent. Maybe the hottest of any local gym, from what I've heard. The facilities always seem pretty clean. Criticisms: -they're about 3 barbells short. People are always having to move them between machines. Having a squat or bench area vacant due to lack of barbell at peak times is an issue. Simple fix. Go buy 3 used barbells. -same issue with the carabiner clips for cable handles. Spend 20 bucks on Amazon and grab a multi pack. That would be enough to have some spares. -a bench or squat rack is hard to get except for very low traffic times

This is by far my favorite gym in Indy. They are 24 hours and have everything you need for gaining muscle or losing weight. They are also the best price wise. $28 per month and I can bring a guest with me every time. “Kp” signed me up and gave me some great advice on exercise and diet. If you go there ask for him. He’s very knowledgeable and even reached out to me a week later to see how my experience was. I recommended this gym to anyone looking to improve their body composition.

I’ve been coming to get fit for years. As a female I love that they offer a work out room only for women. The staff is always super nice and facility is clean.

Get fit has everything you need to have a good workout. The workers are respectful, especially Olivia, she is very polite and respectful! 10/10 customer service!

I just signed up for a membership after visiting with a friend, and the two things that sold me was the monthly membership amount, and the ability to workout in the girls private locker room.

I usually don't write reviews but this place is that GREAT! I'm very picky with my gyms! and I've hopped around a lot but I think I've found my forever GYM!! They have amazing customer service & the  treatment from the staff at the club is top notch, especially KC! He always has a smile on his face and has such a great attitude.  they're all so wonderful and pleasant. LOVE IT THERE!

Don't have a membership, but somehow the stuff never there so i be going in there for free sometimes. I went in there 4 weeks ago to sign up but there was nobody at the lobby.

Joined Get Fit about 9 months ago when I started my weight loss journey. Love the environment PLUS the staff is AMAZING!

I had to go in and cancel my membership to the tune of over $63 dollars on Oct 12, 2020. I just got an email from their finance arm, ABC Financial, stating I owe $14.95 for November. Awaiting call back from manager. Hope I can report a better review later today.

I cant believe the reviews but if you actually read them they sound like horrible people anyway this place first hand even starting on the phone is 5 star then front desk Victoria ,Danielle, were beyound great.then locker room,pool area great clean right temp.then workout all the space you need great equipment I love it and for a cheap place who could complain ill reger this place any day such great people too!!!!

Absolutely HORRIBLE

It's been 3 weeks still waiting on my refund* Update after 7 weeks I was able to get my full refund by disputing the charges with my credit card.

Love the fact that they are open 24 hrs 7 days a week except Christmas Day! Plenty of different equipment to attack the different muscle groups u may be concentrating on. I do have a few things that could be addressed. If you try to take a shower, the water is barely room temperature. During winter THIS is NOT the preferred temp. Been like this for the past 6 months. Also, need to try a bit harder during the wee hours when it comes to cleaning. Trash cans are usually filled to the top through out the gym & rest room.

We decided to end our membership because we weren't going and weren't impressed with the gym. It isn't very clean seeming and outdated. Not only that but I am constantly being harassed by someone at the gym. They text asking if I want to join, and I said no and a few weeks later ask again!
