It is a food experience I'm sure to repeat. Exquisitely prepared feast in a heritage house carefully restored and lovingly served. All the dishes were very well prepared and both vegetarians as well as sea food lovers in our group enjoyed the lunch. The house lawns are quite well maintained.

Seemed ok. The price of 150 per head is steep considering the 10 min short tour of the old renovated Portuguese style house. It's hyped to be honest. Greenery and garden are good. One time visit that too if u r really really interested in old antique things n Portuguese history.

Lovely place. Reyben explained the history of the place beautifully. Food was cooked with passion by Celia, his wife, a true Goan treat. Would recommend to try, a must place to visit.

Lovely place and great effort in restoring the property. Although the owner Ruben seemed to be in a hurry to show us around and the tour seemed really short for the monies we paid. Was really hoping to get something to eat but was disappointed to know there is a pre booking.

Risen from ruins into a beautiful mansion. This is a privately owned property by a couple who have rebuild this place. They are the sweetest person to meet. Please call before visiting it for a private tour and also their extended hospitality with lunch or tea ( paid).

Beautiful restored home with a massive ornate garden. Amazing host who explains the history of the place, the area and the restoration process. We booked the place for lunch and the food was delicious. Some of the ingredients were grown within the home grounds. Highly recommended.

It’s a very interesting experience. Besides visiting the house and the garden, you get to have a very nice info-Portuguese meal. It’s definitely a must if you spend some days in South Goa

Wow what a place so glad we finally got a chance to visit after hearing so much about it . The place is so well maintained and gives you such a positive vibe that’s rich with history. Great job by Ruben and Celia in helping people experience Indo Portuguese culture The entire experience was simply awesome and lunch was mouth watering. The garden , architecture and decor is something that I aspire to have one day . The tour can be improved but it’s just a minor point . Plan on going there again with family and friends Edit Mar’22 . We went back again in Mar to celebrate a birthday with family and it was yet another awesome experience . There’s something about this place which has such a positive vibe . The food tasted delicious exactly like the last time and was backed up by some excellent service too.

Come to see the mansion; stay to meet with Reuben & Celia.... This promises to be a special experience for those who make the journey and I recommend you pre-book the lunch while you are visiting the property. If it's just for a photo-opp then I believe you will miss the point. Reuben & Celia are restoring it to its former glory with great care and thoroughness. In contrast to other mansions in Goa this one was occupied by Priests and Nuns and is therefore designed and furnished modestly. They have a limited workforce and cater specifically for the visitors that pre-book so you can read up about the house and its history on their informative website and use the time in person for any questions you might still have. The star is the Indo-Portuguese lunch dished out by Celia. In the setting of those beautiful gardens and Reubens gramophone playing the background you are transported to another time and place - like visiting an old relative around Christmas. Go with an open mind to experience something non-touristy and with genuine hospitality. The cost of the experience should be considered in the context of touring a private mansion, a hearty meal and supporting the restoration of one of the gems of our past. I'm glad we went and will treasure the experience...

It is a nice place for people who want to experience something different from the run-of-the-mill stuff. People interested in history, culture and heritage would find this place particularly interesting. I would recommend it for mature people who appreciate the importance of preservation and tradition.

A great place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends or family...we were 15 of us...food crafted and cooked by the lady of the house Dona Celia ...it's a sit down experience ..starters..soup...salads...main course and deserts..food one will never find in restaurants exotic fresh cooked to perfection..from starters to deserts every dish was exquisite.. more of a Goan continental cuisine... Do mark your calendar for a Palacio de Deao experience...

Mr Ruben and his family actually lives here’s and have refurbished this house which was in ruins for 40-50 years. The moment you enter the property you feel different, going back 200 years. The furniture, walls, flooring, just make it so much interesting. The ornate gardens that are so popular in European palaces have been maintained so well and so much efforts has been made to keep it well. If history is not your thing and you are there bcoz someone in your group recommended, then stress not!!! The food here cooked by Mr Rubens wife is out of the world. True Goan 7 course meals! Oh my god the food deserves its own review. Absolutely amazing. You cannot go wrong visiting this place. My kids enjoyed this place and we could explain them a bit of history, Cheers!

This house used to be owned by a Portuguese Priest who was responsible for t he e develop of Quepem. Owner(Mr Rueben and family) is restoring the property slowly. They have paid close attention to sourcing original artifacts from the time period of the villa. Their intention is to get people to respect and learn the history of Goa. If you are interested in history, this place is a good visit. At a low fee of 150 rs per person, this walk down history is a good choice. I haven't tried their set menu for lunch or dinner. Please book a day ahead for said meal.

Very well restored, the airy verandas, the huge dinning area, the lavish and well maintained gardens, reminds you of the glory days of the property. Also came to know you can also have lunch which should be pre-booked. They accept donations for a tour of the property.

One of it’s kind attraction in goa. This beautiful villa have a lot of stories and experiences to share with the visitors. The Portuguese type cuisine provided by them is the best and we never had any complaints from our guests till today. Must visit place if you are in South Goa and if you want to visit something unique.

Palácio do Deão is a fabulous getaway from the hustle-bustle of Goa's beaches. The owners have poured their heart in keeping up this heritage property, and the delectable six-course meal goes way beyond the humble fee charged for the entire experience! The belvedere chosen for guests' dining is an unforgettable setting, and the authenticity of the food beats the best names in town. Definitely visit the place!

A beautifully restored heritage house. The owner Mr.Ruben shows you around, giving you a bit of its history. The grounds are lovely and green. You can also see the river from parts of the house. There is a lavish lunch which is cooked by the lady of the house herself. It is delicious and extremely filling! Make sure you have a good appetite when you get there.

There is no other place like this place in Goa. It feels like you have been transported back in time into the Old Goan days. The host is a very nice gentleman. We showed up unannounced as a group of 4 at his doorsteps. He was very gracious in receiving us and accommodating us. We were served a homemade multiple course meal which tasted so good. 5/5 for the place. 6/5 for the host. This place is a must visit for all heritage lovers.

A beautifully curated Portuguese villa restored by Mr. Reuben and his wife Celia to give a glimpse of the heritage of the place and village. The villa is located in South Goa village of Quepem and easily available on maps. a lovely drive through the quaint small towns of south goa. The couple have painstakingly taken all efforts to restore the history of the house. Mr. Reuben gives you a tour of the house explaining its history followed by a sit down lunch at this lovely open area in the garden. Lunch is fresh local goan Portuguese food. It is almost a seven course delicious homecooked lunch and thoroughly enjoyable more because of the setting around. If you wish for a bit of a different experience in Goa and enjoy simple things with an interest in history, then this place can make it to the list. A different way of spending an afternoon. Please note 1. Book in advance. This is not a restaurant but a house and they entertain limited guests, so schedule the visit as it makes it easier for the owners as well. 2. Maintain sanctity of the place. since the owners live there going around here and there without permission clicking pictures is almost like an invasion of privacy. be a bit mindful and always ask as to the places and items of which photos can be taken. 3. If you wish to do random touristy things then this is not the place. This place is worth a visit for the experience it offers and a glimpse into the old Portuguese life. Want a different experience, visit here. 4. They also give a tour of the house without lunch. Check the options and rates.

If you are not going for the food, a place that you can avoid. The house has good views around but definitely not worth 150 per person. Ruben seemed in a hurry to finish the tour.

This is one of the best places in Goa if you want to try authentic Goan food. It is a old Portuguese House which has been renovated. We can take a look at some of the rooms in which the furniture and accessories used during the 17th century. It's a family owned place where you'll need to book a little in advance as they prepare everything at home. Mr Ruben, the owner of this place is a very pleasant gentleman who personally took care of all our needs while we were there. We were served a wide spread of appetizers and main course of which each and every dish was full of flavour. We completed the meal with Goan delicacy, Bebinca and Creme Caramel. We had a great time and wish to go there again soon!

A pleasant experience with good food! Rubin provides a set menu for a fixed price but was disappointed when he did not mention that fee things were not inclusive in the set menu and were charged extra.. he needs to specify at the start what is included and what is not .. Cheating people like this is not good. Surrounded with nature will be a great add on along with your lunch ..

The gardens are s delight complete with flowrr and have been restored to the original designs as well. The lunch was the best we have eaten in goa n, we were in heaven. Strongly recommend this ingoa.
