The best in the region, best food, best price, very friendly waitresses, even though it's located in a very touristic area it's well frequented by locals, that being said this restaurant is always full so make sure to arrive before opening hours to get your spot without waiting in line. Simple and cute atmosphere! AMAZING SERVICE! The waiters and waitresses are just adorable and very professional! Food is super good and fish is super fresh. Prices are more than fair. It is cheaper than all other places we have been for the same quality in matusinhos. The result of all this is that you have to come prepared for waiting in the best of time for half an hour. But it is worth the wait!

One of the best fish in my life. Sea bass was so delicious. We ordered with boiled potatoes. Also fish soup was very tasty. All this plus refreshing sangria it made for perfect brunch. Service was very fast and nice. I'm very satisfied after visiting this restaurant.

Excellent place to get amazing freshly cooked seafood. Staff were very friendly, ambiance feels locals and the prices are great. Get here early as it fills up very quickly, but you can always have a beer whilst you wait in line.

Great experience, both food and service. A local family run restaurant that has a simple menu of freshly caught fish. All come with a side and a sauce. I had the prawns, which are cooked in a secret recipe sauce, which has a distinctly Asian infusion, no doubt by chance than by design. The pawns are large and succulent, and the sauce is unexpectedly sweet with deep flavours. The service is extremely friendly and welcoming.

If there is an opportunity for me to give 6/5 I will wholeheartedly give it to this restaurant. I don't do this often but when my wife and I came out of the dinner, we were so happy with the overall experience. We had a great culinary experience in Portugal overall and the best food we ever had was at this restaurante Lage Senhor do Padrao. This place deserves the best reviews for the sheer variety of authentic Portuguese fare, great taste and quality ingredients they have. This place is mostly frequented by the locals and of all the restaurants we saw in Matosinhos, this one had a long line of customers waiting outside for a table, showing how popular it is. Initially the staff said a wait time of 50 minutes but they got us a table in 25 minutes and that was a big relief. Nonetheless for the experience we had I would have gladly waited an hour, and if you have read my previous reviews you would know I don't like to wait for more than 30 minutes. Anyways I went in hoping to order their whole fish, preferably the turbot, by the kilogram rate, which will be grilled with salt and olive oil. I didn't find it on the menu and on asking the staff they showed me the fish and mentioned it is an expensive fish. As we wanted to indulge a bit we gladly agreed. The fish came with three sides that we can choose. We also ordered the caldo Verde soup and octopus salad, which were great too. In short, this place is worth visiting again and if we do come to Porto again I will travel all the way to Matosinhos just to eat at this restaurant. That's how much I am impressed by what we had.

Soo much delicious seafood! This is the place to go to have some of the best local sea food. You should try to reserve the place in advance as it gets packed pretty much all the time. Shrimp and crab are a must have.

What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant after walking along the beach. We were told there were many restaurants along the road near the beach and we found the perfect place. Great atmosphere, service and food. We started with jumbo shrimp, then had monk fish with rice which was good enough for two. Delicious meals all around. Highly recommend.

Excellent, amazing, fresh see food. The best shrimps I have ever had (and I had quite a lot). Great place for teasting dishes you have never tried (for me it was cuttlefish). I can highly recommend. For sure one of the paces worth to visit again.

We ordered BBQ codfish, grilled sardine, clams and fried sardine, for two of us. More than enough food. It turned out the fried sardine tasted best. Clams were also very good. Grilled sardine was a bit dry, the codfish was good quantity but not as fresh as we expected. Overall a satisfactory lunch but not exceedingly good.

Highly recommend. Great service, waitress always asked if everything is fine. Dishes were delicious and we had salmon and calamari. Superb choice for a good price.

This was our fourth time here. Never disappointed. The seafood /fish is so fresh and flavourful. Prices are great. The service is very friendly. It can get very busy and you may have to wait for a seat. Well worth the wait! If yiou arrive when they open you won't have to wait to be seated 😏

By far one of the nicest restaurants we visited during our stay: great vibe, absolutely fantastic food (we tried the sea bass and sea breem), and the staff is very friendly. Do make sure to come early, otherwise there's a good chance you'll have to stand in line to be able to get a seat. (and ask them about the gigantic candy jar they have) ;)

It’s a rainy day, but we still waited for around 20 min to have a lunch. We have tried shellfish rice, it’s a little bit salty, but tasty. Try to eat it quickly, otherwise it will be very thick. The octopus salad (with union) is fresh! Great combo.

The food was absolutely outstanding! We have been to Portugal few times and had a lot of food! But this is by far the best we have ever had! The service was also fabulous are waiter was so friendly and helpful and happy to serve us! We had to wait at the beginning as came as peak time but the waiter was very efficient and got us a table in 10-15 minutes with about 6 families ahead of us! 100% recommended do not leave without visiting! We've elected as the best restaurant in our trip to Portugal, we went for dinner on a weekday and we were mind blowing about the quality of the food. Amazing staff, we had a 40 minute pleasant conversation with the waitress. They are hard workers and I'd recommended to all of my dear friends. Both the cod fish and the Shrimp appetizer were amazing.

If you are looking for fresh fish while in Porto, the place is amazing. You can have grilled on charcoal. The only issue is when purchase by the weight they add the whole fish, wish is really a not accurate. Ask before the actual cost, because it can be very expensive.

Very busy restaurant at lunch time, great grilled sardines, well served portion (12 sardines serves 2 people). We had a sangria which was good 🍷 the Arroz de Marisco was excellent, serves 3 people really, very generous portions. I’ll definitely come back for more sardines!

Food was good. The seafood is simply bbqd with salt and no other flavouring. They also give you an olive oil+garlic+onion sauce which gave the food slightly more in flavour. We had the fish soup (great) , whelk salad (ok) and grilled bass (good) and grilled squid (ok)

One of the best affordable seafood restaurant in Europe, and I am coming from Australia. We have a lot there You must try, the stone crab, cod fish and octopus

I must say that this restaurant is the best one in the area (their price is also cheaper compared to others in this area). The downside is that it doesnt accept reservation, and I had to wait 1h during lunchtime in Sunday. But….the wait was worth the food and services here. Our fav so far is grilled squids, carapao and salmon are also great! Try their fish soup-a must! And…their chocolate cake melts inside our mouth :drool:

We ordered a sartine appetizer. It was 3 euros for 12 freshly fried fish. We also got the shellfish rice pot. It was delicious with so much flavor. The portion was intended for two people but it's much more than we could handle. Total cost for us was 27 euro (we did not order any drinks). The waiting staff was very friendly. She patiently explained the difference between dishes to us. It was a really nice meal by the seaside.

Our first meal in Portugal. Excellent octopus salad! This is also one of the most authentic Portuguese meals we had. Not to mention it was a great value - between my partner and I we had bread, half a bottle of green wine, octopus salad, clams, and grilled sardines and all came out to be less than 40 euros. Probably the cheapest full sit-down meal we had in Portugal!

One of the best local places I've ever visited in Porto: 1) excellent local cuisine(fish) 2) great service lead by waitress/waiters who spoke at least 3 languages (portoguese,english,spanish by default, plus french german and I've heard some italian. Only 1 minus: napkins not made by tissue but paper. Strongly recommended

This is my third visit to Porto and I discovered this restaurant on my first visit. Since then, every time I return to this place to eat fresh fish and experience great service. Today's visit was not an exception - we had fish soup, octopus salad and fantastic grilled turbot.
