I was excited to join this gym at first. However, I prefer weights to cardio machines. There were too many occasions where a group of men would hog all of the squat racks and the free weight area. If they were to walk away and you try to use it, then puff up their chest and try and intimidate you off the machine saying they still need it because they are super setting. To the point where I often left before I could finish my workout. I made a few attempts to cancel my membership and finally they replied saying they will cancel but insist on charging me for the month. Especially when their records can clearly see it’s been so long since I’ve used their facility. I feel they’ve gotten enough free months out of me. Maybe they are hurting and need my extra $10? Poor customer service. Especially since their own employee I spoke to yesterday agreed that the men there have gotten out of control.

I canceled my membership in person in the beginning of January. I was told by the manager it was taken care of I would not be charged again blah blah blah. About 3 weeks later I was charged again. I called crunch only to find out the membership had not been canceled yet But it would be taken care of and I would see a refund in my account in 5 to 7 business days. Well that never happened. About six more phone calls later still nothing has been done. Do better.. 2/5/2023.... Membership still not canceled. 2/08/2023.... Membership still not canceled no email received.

If I could give no stars I would. I signed up for a 1 year contract. I completed the 1 year contract. I went in and canceled the membership after the contract was completed. 2 months later I'm still being billed and was told I owe annual dues. How can I owe dues on something I didn't renew? Don't waste your money here. The gym is always dirty, the equipment is almost always in disrepair. Front desk staff is clueless. There's better gyms out there. I would never recommend this place to anyone I know.

The Federal Trade Commission says it receives thousands of complaints every year from crunch fitness consumers who are being plagued with recurring charges that they either weren't able to cancel or didn't know they were signing up for in the first place. There is a new law being proposed to require an online cancellation process, not just for Crunch yet all gym memberships. Because of Crunch Fitness deceitful business tactics, all consumers will now have a means to gracefully end their memberships with any organization requiring an online registration process to become a member. Thank you for making this happen, without the complaints from Crunch Fitness customers this bill would have never passed the house.

I went in and cancelled my membership in person with a manager MONTHS ago. They have been charging my card hundreds of dollars with all sorts of “late fees”. Reported all of it as fraud, but nothing has been done. Every staff member is clueless. This gym is way overcrowded and disgusting anyways, hence why I cancelled. Stay away.

Had issues canceling my membership. I took this review down because I wrote the managers Joe name in it and I don’t like to do that and I thought I resolved this with the corporate office but now a year later I see they sent me to collections so I am reposting. My issue is I tried to cancel and Joe tried to bully me with staying. He was not truthful and said I am liable for a year contract. I called the corporate office they said I can cancel anytime. Now I am in collection for 125 dollars. Can’t figure these people out! They are very unprofessional and I would stay away.

I switched my gym membership to Crunch because the Planet Fitness S. Tamiami Trail is filthy. I liked the equipment but after repeated complaints of how dirty it was, noting changed. I joined Crunch and have been very pleased. Plenty of equipment, free weights and classes. Friendly staff and trainers. I have to say I am very pleased with my decision to make the switch.

When you open the shower doors in the women’s restroom you get greeted with a pungent smell of straight up funk🤮!! (and no it’s not my body Oder ) The changing room curtains are very dirty like you DO NOT want them touching you and so is the shower curtain in the big stall…they’re literally yellow… there’s no soap on the soap dispensers..nothing is changed or restocked over the course of two hours I seen nobody cleaning up 😃 the trash cans were full of sweaty paper towels and the water fountains are broken..over all the place is a mess.

Had a 10am meeting scheduled with RYAN FORGARTY - I went in and they had just left, then wouldn’t answer calls… went for nothing and it’s a 25 minute drive one way - also even before this they took several days to respond to a single message. When we finally did get in touch they told lies and their attitude was unprofessional

I went to Fourth of July Master Class. All the instructors were so good but one. The one Stacie with covered scarf on head was really on some kind of performance enhancement drug. Everyone in the packed room were disgusted because she was dancing for herself. Nobody enjoy her.

My husband and I recently moved to Ft Myers from Austin, and we expected the process of finding a new gym home to take a little time. We lucked into finding Crunch less than 3 miles from our new place and we love it! Both of us have previously worked at gyms and we were very impressed with the cleanliness and large selection of equipment. Nancy and Ricky at the front desk have been super welcoming. We highly recommend this gym location!

I used to workout here but was also a trainer here for 6 months. The gym is clean, but a lot of equipment is broken or not working the way that it should. The general manager Joe is a nice guy, but pretty useless if you need something to be taken care of. From my experience, the owner Brian seems very much focused on the money going in his pockets rather than the trainers income OR the client experience. I had multiple clients who had no issues with me and their sessions, but had issues with their memberships and issues talking with management. The price point is competitive with other gyms, but the quality of service is lacking in many ways. If you’re interested in joining a gym, there are a lot of options in town that will be much more worth your investment.

Great gym, with great atmosphere and mostly working equipment. Only downside is how much management will hassle you over membership policies. Perfect example: no where does it state there is a cancellation policy. I never had a contract and paid month to month, then when I cancel because I am moving they charge me $10. The money is not a big deal but its the principle of not practicing what you preach that bugs me here.

I was always afraid to join the gym but I knew I had to do something with my weight, as I was starting to get depressed. I signed up for a personal trainer to help me better understand the proper techniques. My personal trainer Kiru has been amazing and very knowledgeable. He pushes me to better myself. He is very friendly and always has a smile. After 8 sessions and more to go I have noticed a great change in my body. I walk in the gym with more confidence!

6 year member. Couple years ago this gym was sold to a new owner and they fired all the old staff, who were not capable, and have turned this gym around. The new manager is engaged, fixing equipment, refurbishing, expanding membership and hiring competent trainers. Great experience with only downside being this strip mall’s ongoing sewer issues. The locker and restroom facilities need to be cleaner/renovated to make this gym fundamentally better. Could also use a few more pieces of high demand equipment like the cable multifunction machine. Thank you new owner for your ongoing investments and upgrades- keep going! Meanwhile, thank you Ryan, Dominic and staff for your efforts!

Crunch Ft Myers is the best! The staff is the most polite and efficient staff of any gym I’ve ever been to. Ricky at the front desk helped me get my car battery jumped when it died, he got cables, drove his car to mine and got me going! Michelle remembers everyone’s name and is the sweetest smiling face you see when you first enter! Love this place!

We’re from out of town and needed a gym while we were on vacation. We heard about this place from some friends and they had good things to say about so we checked it out yesterday. As soon as you enter they were all so welcoming and quickly got us all set up. The gym is SO clean and nice and offers everything you need. It’s a great spot to stop. Definitely recommend!!

I have come here for several years now & have taken advantage of using a trainer. I work with Kiru. He is the best one I’ve worked with at this gym. I look forward to working out now & really enjoy my sessions with him. He’s a real asset to your gym. Also like that there are a lot of treadmills & machines & area is clean.

I’ve been coming to this location once or twice a year for the past 6 or 7 years. The gym was always decent- kinda slow and ok selection of equipment. Over the years I started to see the equipmemt age and not be maintained properly and the level of cleanliness was in rapid decline. Fast forward to now and my most recent experience exceeded expectations. I was greeted by a very friendly staff member named Ryan who quickly got we set up with what I needed. I came in on a 3 day pass and what I noticed each of those 3 days was a high level of customer service amongst all staff members, respectful and friendly patrons, and a very clean facility which as a gym owner, I always appreciate seeing as it represents pride in the workplace and a ‘we care’ attitude towards its members. All around great experience and very much looking forward to my next visit.

While we like the gym they have charged us over $4,000 in charges even though we cancelled are personal trainers. The managers are clueless. They tell us we are cancelled. But new $600 charges today. This is now fraud which is theft. Rashad the regional manager through the onsite training manager basically has said screw you. Numerous fraud charges filled with Visa. I think it is now time to file a complaint with the Sheriff.

EDIT: never mind on 7am yoga classes. Sad that got take away. Also the new set up gym is my lease favorite. There’s no room for warm up especially in front of a mirror. It’s always packed now in days and bare room to work out. Thinking about canceling my membership. So happy to have found a place that have Pilates and yoga classes! Danielle Is amazing and the time classes are perfect since I have to work at 9am. Love this gym!

I highly recommend Kiru as a personal trainer. He encourages me to do my best and has helped me to strive toward my goals. He’s so knowledgeable about all the muscles in your body and the right exercises and weights to use. He always has a smile and is so friendly and genuine to be with. I look forward to my training sessions with Kiru. I sincerely thank him for helping me to be the best I can be. Susan Gillespie

I use to love this gym, but it’s going downhill. They never have paper towels available to clean machines after use. This morning there were dirty rags hanging from garbage cans that members were supposed to use to clean machines. Cardio equipment never gets repaired. A treadmill has been out of service since August and they changed the date on the notice to make it seem like it just broke down this month. Meanwhile the treadmill next to it is now out of service and the one next to it will be out of service soon because the belt is starting to rip like the others. The new set up with the HIIT class in the middle of the gym is terrible. Does not make it an enjoyable experience for the rest of the members.

I moved away, they do their absolute best to make it impossible to cancel the membership without going to the gym in person. I live nowhere near here and yet they insist on me coming to the gym in person. Absolutely ridiculous. I ask to speak to a manager and I am told that speaking to them will not help because I have to come in person. I ask for their email or phone number and am still refused by an employee name Dominic. He instead tells me whenever it is convenient to drive over an hour to come into the gym to cancel my membership. What a joke.

Gets the job done mainly for the price. Very Friendly staff which is good… but the equip is always broken and takes forever to get fixed… and if it doesn’t get fixed it just vanishes off the floor…. The very popular cable machine has been broken since around Christmas…. Treadmills stay broken and just get condensed… one rower has been out of commission forever… Invest a little in your facility….it will go a long way.

While I’m traveling it’s important to find a quality gym to maintain my lifestyle while away from home. Crunch fitness has all the equipment you would need to get in a great workout. The locker rooms are clean, as well as all the equipment and the floor. The staff is very nice and professional. As someone who is in the gym a lot and travels a lot, I would highly recommend Crunch fitness. I look forward to coming back!

I switched from Planet Fitness to Crunch and I love it here! Such a friendly and encouraging environment. Ricky is the absolute best!! He is there every morning and greets me and other members with encouragement for making it to the gym - and encourages us to eat a healthy breakfast first!

Good crunch gym, just from a safety perspective they need to have a few more barbell clamps. Was bench pressing search the whole gym and could not find any.

I spoke to Ricky on the phone today and he was amazing. He has high positive energy. I had a question about transferring to the Fort Myers location due to a possible job change. He assured me there would be no issues and could start coming over anytime. He was super helpful and enthusiastic. Thank you!

This place is amazing! The GM, Terry went above and beyond to show me around, sign me up and schedule me with a personal trainer for a "Kick-Off" session! I am so excited to start my fitness journey here at Crunch Fitness! 💪

My friend and I were bored on Sunday and we’re looking for a place to go work out, but did not want to go to a cross fit gym. We stumbled upon crunch on summerlin road, the moment we walked in we were greeted by a worker with a big smile on her face. We explained we wanted a day pass and were not interested in a membership. She was quick to help us out and invite us to work out at the gym, even though I was not interested in a membership here, I might reconsider because of how awesome the gym is. Not too packed, and the machines were open and everything was very clean! I’m definitely going to be coming back soon!

Really great gym. The staff at the desk were soo friendly. We were only in town for a week on vacation and they made it so easy to get a weeks membership at a really good price. A pleasure to deal with and the gym itself has everything you could ask for and it didn't seem too busy either. Awesome 👌

Stopped by for a day pass when I was in the area for a wedding a few weeks back, nice facility. Spoke w/one of the managers, Ricky. Guy was super personable, answered all my questions and got me set up for the day. Clean gym w/nice equipment, I’ll definitely be back.

  • 1/5 Jessica W. 2 years ago on Google
Equipment is constantly broken. Mold in the bathrooms. Holes in the walls. Equipment that’s actually broken, has no sign on it, which can lead to a serious injury. And the staff is the most annoying and rude I’ve ever encountered. There’s about 2 staff members who actually make the experience of going here enjoyable. But these new ones are absolutely invasive and annoying. If my wife didn’t want to continue going here, I’d cancel the membership right now. I’ve owned, operated, and consulted for gyms for 6 years. And this one, I would close down.

Awesome staff & facility!!! I went to Crunch in Fort Myers while on vacation the last 2 weeks visiting my family. The Manager Ryan was SUPER helpful and went out of her way to help me check in and also went over the class schedule which were all great and very challenging!! Everyone that works at the front desk is friendly and it’s a very nice size gym and clean facility!! I would highly recommend this Crunch.

Excellent location. High ceilings, plenty of racks and Olympic bars. Dumbbells go up to 100lbs and there is plenty of each set of weights. Great turf area with athletic weight-room type equipment (including tires, TRX) ! If you’re an athlete and in the area for vacation definitely come here, they have everything you need.

My father and I wanted to workout together while he was visiting from out of town so we explored local Gyms and Crunch Fitness unfortunately ended up being the place we chose to go. Our first day there we tried to signup for a weekly pass because we knew we would not keep the membership going for even 2 weeks (he was only in town for a week). Upon trying to do this we were persuaded by the employee at the front desk to sign up for a month to month membership instead of the weekly. We specifically asked her "If we do what you're suggesting and we cancel a week later will we be hit with any other fees like an annual fee?" her response was very clear that "No if you cancel within the first month you will not be charged ANYTHING ELSE." This ended up being a complete lie as when we tried to cancel the membership the Gym owner (Ryan) told us we signed the agreement and its our fault we are in this situation. She took zero ownership for her employees lying to us to coerce us into the monthly subscription (probably because Ryan trains them this way) and did not seem to care about fixing the situation one bit when I came into the gym. We were forced to pay an extra $100 just to cancel our membership which shows me the owners really only care about their bottom line and not their cutstomers. If you don't want to get duped into overpaying for a gym membership then AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
