This small temple is a serene getaway, offering a peaceful and charming escape. Despite its modest size, it creates an intimate atmosphere that's perfect for exploring and finding tranquility. The vistas are delightful and lend to a sense of calmness that anyone seeking a peaceful retreat would appreciate. When visiting, you'll notice the lovely surroundings and experience a genuine sense of peace. It's not grand, but that's what makes it special; it's a quiet place that fosters a sense of calmness and relaxation. The views are beautiful, providing a sense of tranquility that's hard to find elsewhere. This temple might not be the biggest attraction, but its serene ambiance makes it a must-visit for those seeking a peaceful escape. It's a delightful spot where you can enjoy a sense of calmness and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.

What a gorgeous temple! Amazing views of the mountains. I visited during the Chinese New Year celebration and the entire complex was beautifully decorated. Prayer halls were awe inspiring. Attendees and staff were very friendly and helpful. Educational and thought provoking materials throughout the complex. There's a museum gallery as well. Parking can be tricky but they do have a parking lot so I imagine on regular days there would be available parking. During the New Year celebration, there was a shuttle service that we didn't use. We parked in a neighborhood nearby and walked to the temple. Definitely worth a visit 👍🏽

Beautiful temple that is open to the public daily. Lots of things to see. They also offer a vegetarian buffet. During lunar new year they have lots of events. Must visit if you are in the area. Largest Buddhist temple outside of Asia.

Randomly found this place when we had a spare hour and we loved it!!! So calm and peaceful. Beautiful temple to learn about other religions and culture. Absolutely amazing view of the temple with the mountains at the background! It’s free to enter but you need to have a reservation! 30 min to 1 hour is more than enough to do a quick walk around and explore. If you want to learn more and deep dive into the history - you might spend more time there.

Go on their website and make a reservation! You’ll need to show them your code before entering the gate. There will be a couple people waiting with their masks on telling you to wear your mask before they scan your code. Then they’ll allow you access. Masks are A MUST here. You’ll have to keep it on at all time. There’s tons of parking since it’s reservations only. It’s pretty empty so I’d recommend this spot if you want to check out the temple. Only part that you’ll be missing out are the decorations and the fruit tray that you can buy at the front. But other than that, you’ll see the temple clearer since there won’t be a lot of people.

Make sure you make a reservation before coming! Luckily we drove by and they had openings so we made reservations in our car. This place is legit. 100% like you're in China. There's a little Shop inside, the cafeteria wasn't open. You have to wear masks right now which sucks but you do why you gotta do. This place is really cool and there's some great picture opportunities.

I didn't have enough to spend there, but I'll definitely go back and take my time. Very serene and zen atmosphere and vib. So much to see and explore and so be done at a cool pace and not rushed. There is a library where you can check out books or read there. Quiet. Relaxing reading rooms. Very very nice staff. Amazing. There are some free books you can take. There's a tea room and gift shop. 2 temples, a really good art gallery that has new Exhibits that rotates out. I didn't have time to stay for the vegetarian buffet but the red bean and custard cakes I got that is made fresh on the spot there was really yummy! If you get there earlier enough, there is plenty of free parking on site.

This is the first time I have been to this Temple, I have been to a few in the past, but this one is huge. Easy to get to, just inland from Bueno Vista Park, and the day we were there, it was pouring down, so we were there almost by ourselves. It is very well taken care of, the architecture is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. We were there for Lunar New Year, so it was a little bit more special. Very clean restrooms too, if you are thinking about going here, you should do it, it is well worth the drive up the mountain and it's free to get in.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place even on a gloomy rainy day. Decorations for the lunar new year make it looks even better. Plenty of parking.

They offer buffet lunch 10 bucks a person everyday start at 11:30. I eat there everyday, and meditate if I have extra time on that day. The temple is huge, very calming, let me quiet down my soul and self.

A wonderful place to visit for the Lunar New Year or any day for that matter. Welcoming and huge clean Buddhist temple. They've an art exhibit section with relics, artifacts, paintings, statues, carvings, and more. They've also an assortment of halls

Today 2/24/2024 is the last day for the Lunar New Year celebration, Peace Lantern Festival. This place is a Gem for SoCal. A place where one can reflect and contemplate.

We generally stop by this gorgeous temple every Chinese New Year as we did again this year. Beautiful place to meditate, pray, and learn about Budhism even if you are not a practicing Budhist. My wife is and we introduce our children to Budhism here as well as pray and donate to the monestary. They have regular and special services here as in most temples. Very festive decorations during the entire two weeks of Spring Festival. Note howver it is so popular during the New Year that traffic and parking can be difficult.

This is my first time to celebrate Chinese new year in a Chinese community, and it’s great! The temple provided great arena for cultural activities. There are impressive performance from Chinese, Indian, and Aztec communities. There are also delicious food stands and Girl Scout cookies sales at reasonable price. We got some Chinese steamed bread. They taste pretty good. The view from the temple is also great. It can be crowded in the temple and we recommend park in the neighborhood and walk up to the temple.

First time visit. It was a nice exploration. Their vegetarian All You Can Eat was okay. The menu was limited because of the price. You can get as many rounds of food as you want. Just remember to keep your tray for the next rounds. The dining hall opens at 11:30 Monday to Friday. No pre-order or reservation is needed.

Half way up Hacienda Height the view is amazing & the place is serene. Admission is free - donation welcome. I love their vegan spicy beef jerky taste amazing and better than real beef jerky. Priced at $7.50 a bag, it’s a real bargain! I will try their vegan lunch next time.

First noticed this place on a hike at Turnbull Canyon, and found it randomly looking through Google maps. Was excited coming here because the reviews were and pictures were good. Enjoyed learning about Buddhism and Asian culture but kind of got bad energy from people. I got some stares. It's a Asian dominated temple so made me feel out of place since I am not asian. But overall the scenic views and history were worth it.

It's very festive during Lunar New Year and traffic is very bad and congested! We had to park at the Puente Hilll Mall and then take the free shuttle to the temple. We purchased a $10 lunch box, and it came with a soup(all vegetarian). Many food stands before entering the temple entrance.

I enjoy going here. They have yoga classes here that I went to pre-Covid years. I like to donate and get dharma words for the hubby, kids, and myself. It’s peaceful and beautiful in the main temple, but no cameras are allowed. So no pics to show. Before entering, I also donate and burn incense for my family.

I grew up around the area and have always known that this temple was on the hill but never visited it. I’m glad I checked it out. The grounds are very well manicured and the temple and the surrounding structures were amazing and huge! The views are also amazing since it is situated on a hillside. Be prepared to climbing a lot of stairs. Walking around, you’ll see all the different deity’s, who they are and what they stand for. There is a small museum where you can see some artifacts and art work. There is also a gift shop which had some cool things both affordable and expensive. When we were there, we were lucky enough to see an actual service and also partake in an offering and lighting incense. You don’t have to be a follower of Buddhism to visit this place. But if you appreciate learning about another culture and religion, this is definitely a cool place to visit. Plus it’s free! You do have to make an appointment to visit but one ticket is good for a whole vehicle.

My first visit to a Buddhist temple in USA. Its just Beautiful and so peaceful place with a beautiful scenic view around it. Masks are must to wear and need to book a reservation for entrance, very easy, through the website. Due to covid, many of the parts of the temple were closed but still a lot to look and enjoy some peace. Offerings to buy ,cost $20, incense sticks 1 per person are free for doing prayer. No pictures are allowed of the main worship area. Only outdoors, which is great too. Restrooms are available on the 2nd floor, cafeteria was closed.

Where to park: their parking is at Round 1 Le Puente plaza. From there, there were shuttles bus to the temple. We didn’t know this so we went to temple and detour to the parking. So for those who visit the temple on new year days, be aware and plan ahead where to park. Great to find a temple that has many Viet visiting for Tet/lunar new year. Many of us wear Ao dai-traditional custom that made me miss home Vietnam but at the same time, I felt incredibly grateful to have such place for us to celebrate and share our tradition. Located on the mountain so the view was nice. Hard to take photos without random people bombing in. But that’s ok. We’re here for the Tet vibe.

One of the biggest Buddhist temples in North America. It offers great views and inner peace to the visitors. There's plenty of parking spaces on site. People are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended

I loved this place very much. It was just amazing experience felt peace ☮️ looking at those statues. To visit this place a before appointment must required for parking the car/vehicle. We got nice pictures for posting in Instagram. We expected a buffet but unfortunately it was closed. We can buy scents and light them as a offering. So had a gift shop inside. The place was just stunning. 🤩🤩.

Beautiful & Peaceful monastery . The architecture is impressive. Masks required throughout. Also, they have a small museum ,which you can visit for $1 / person. The book store and gift shop was there. Volunteers are doing a wonderful job there,!

Breathtaking views and something you would not expect to see in the US. Make sure to reserve online ahead of time and to wear masks while on the premises. It is a place of worship, so they do have guidelines on appropriate clothing. The temple is beautiful and definitely worth stopping by if in the area.

The temple is built on the hill, Chinese style, good Feng Shui, nicely designed and built with deities inside or outside the buildings. A unique temple in the states. Peaceful and quiet place to worship.

Come early to have a better parking spot. Check out their website for appointments and event information. This is one of the most popular temples in the country. Grand Chinese architecture, beautiful view, and impressive Buddha statues. All staff and volunteers are super friendly. Highly recommended:)

Very nice place to visit. Once inside you feel like you're in China and far away from California. Not really a tourist destination but a real live sacred Buddhist temple there for worship and reflection. Classes are available as well as books and other religious things.
