👍👍 Great place. The house is absolutely amazing, vintage style, very authentic. The kitchen is well equipped and a nice place for people to meet and talk. The garden too.and the double room is just so coquette and lovely! So worth the money. Plus, it is located exactly in the city center, in the middle... People often mention hostel, location, beach, clean, kitchen, staff, people, nice, great, rooms,

This hostel has a special place in my heart, for this is not a simple rent a bed hostel. It offers many types of rooms and a large shared bathroom. The premises are always clean. The court is lovely to sit in and chill, the kitchen is well equipped with a toaster and water heater. I have booked a bed in the dormitory and was sharing the room with 8 people more or less, but you never feel that the place is cramped or small. The balconies surround the whole building which is blend-in the beautiful patrimoine surrounding structures(the mosque and the citadel). The walk from the hostel to the beach is only half a minute or less. The staff and travellers will make your stay even more enjoyable. The decorations and ambience are nice too. An overall good experience and a great choice.

Great place. The house is absolutely amazing, vintage style, very authentic. The kitchen is well equipped and a nice place for people to meet and talk. The garden too.and the double room is just so coquette and lovely! So worth the money. Plus, it is located exactly in the city center, in the middle of everything. What more can you want? Definitely value for the money. The staff is also very kind and friendly. From reception to the cleaning crew, they are all very welcoming and reliable.

Great location. Absolutely no sound proofing and no curfew. Fine for some but not if you actually want to sleep. Apparently a taxi was arranged for us but never showed up. A bit of a panic to get to the airport as a result. Overall a slightly chaotic vibe.

All basic facilities you'd expect from a hostel, the property has quite a nice character to it and the staff are very happy to help. The hostel is also incredibly well located, close to lots of eateries and bars, as well as a 10 minute walk from a major bus stop with coaches all across the island. My *only* complaint is that the rooms were a bit chilly in the evenings (not so much overnight) but this would only ever be a problem in the winter months

I cannot recommend Le Mat Hostel in central Larnaca highly enough! I recently stayed here and was blown away by the great experience. The community of other travelers was simply amazing. Everyone was so cool and friendly, making it easy to meet new people and share stories of our travels. The vintage interiors were a real treat too, with old school décor that was both unique and comfortable. The owner was helpful and kind. The location of the hostel was also fantastic - right next to the beach and medieval fort, making it the perfect home base for exploring the city. The self-service hostel check-in was a real bonus too, as each guest gets a digital code to enter the hostel. This made it incredibly easy to come and go as I pleased, without having to worry about keys or coordinating schedules. Finally, as a traveler from central Europe, I was thrilled to find that the hostel had central European power plugs available for guests to use. It's the little things like this that really set Le Mat Hostel apart. The sleeping setup was a shared room with double bunk beds, but I found it comfortable and cozy. The kitchen and bathrooms were also shared, but they were always clean and well-maintained. And the pricing was absolutely fine, given the overall quality of the hostel. Overall, I had an incredible stay at Le Mat Hostel in Larnaca and I will definitely be back one day. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a fantastic travel experience in Cyprus!

Amazing hostel ! It's clean, super cute, high ceilings, very well placed, right next to the beach, good internet. We had a private room, it's very calm. But most importantly it's in the little details that you see they care about the guests. Adaptors to charge your phone, clear instructions, well equipped kitchen. We really liked it. I highly recommend it :)

This hostel has a perfect location. It is right by the Lazarus church and beautiful beach and castle. The interior is very chic, and the check in process was the smoothest of any hostel I’ve ever visited. My only regret is that I could not stay longer. Cyprus is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever seen, and I hope you get a chance to visit!

    - Hot dorms (no aircon on even though it is advertised as part of the facilities and guests asked for it). - Windows open = Street noise and mosquitoes. - Terrible communication (take days to respond for a late check in request). 2 people were allowed to check in late to a dorm last night, but I was asked to book elsewhere even though I arrived at the same time. -No one is there for most of the day to help with questions or even checking in past 2pm. - This could be a good hostel but it's poorly managed. I suggest you book an airbnb, it's cheaper and you'll definitely have a better experience.

Great hostel with an amazing location. It is a hostel though so your experience will vary based on the people staying there with you, but all in all I fully recommend Le Mat!

I stayed in the dorm with 10 beds. My bed was very clean as was the hostel was overall. The staff was extremely helpful as well. The hostel is 2 minutes walk from downtown/ city center and the beach. Great place! Would stay again!

Actually, I just wanted to spend a few days at the Le Mat Hostel and then move on. But a few days became a month and the hostel became my home. The building exudes peace and warmth and welcomes every traveler with open arms. The staff make you feel really welcome. I work from my laptop and I always found a quiet workplace and a perfect internet connection. The kitchen is well equipped and has given me the opportunity to bake, cook and experiment even when traveling. In the courtyard of the hostel you have enough space to relax and to practice juggling. The owner of the hostel has also planted herbs there, which are available for free. The beds are comfortable, the rooms super clean and the water warm. The hotel owner, Gregory, is pure gold and extremely helpful and humorous. I recommend having a coffee break with him on the stairs in front of the green, old door. Insider tip: Spend a few moments in front of this door and get to know and fall in love with the neighborhood. I especially also liked the new hostel manager (she will support Gregory very soon again). I have never felt so comfortable in a hostel on all my travels - special thanks to the Hostel Assistance Manager. Will definitely come back!

Great experience - affordable and spacious rooms, in a lovely traditional old building. Gregory and Vasili were super helpful on the front desk, and made us few very welcome. People there were awesome, and was in a great location near the sea and close to the city Centre. Would definitely stay here again!

I was there only one night with early morning checkout, but my experience was very good. Communication quick, self checkin and location directly in the center few steps from beach and bus stop to the airport (first bus to airport is 6:06 number 425 from beach bus stop) Bed was comfortable and room quiet during the night.

The most beautiful hostel, always great vibes and right next to the sea. Gregory is a wonderful host and has made this place really special!

The hostel is great, super well located and people are friendly. The only drawback is that most of the people are 40+ years old men and I’m not gonna lie, they snore like bears. Apart from that it’s great, probably book once again, but a smaller dormitory than for 10 people

A wonderful place with a lot of charm. Not even a minute away from the beach, very central location. A cozy place. And the kitchen is well equipped and clean. The owner and staff are friendly.

Le mat would be perfect in the summertime. In february when outside temperature was between 5-15, it was really cold in kitchen, lounge & bathroom. Rooms were heated only via air-conditioning during night, but mostly got warmed up only under the blanket or in hot shower. Thus there was no evening life during my stay - everyone was stuck in bed already at 8pm. 1 more point - light turning off in the bathroom after only few minutes, so you have to step out of the shower to turn it on. Not nice to stay in shower in total darkness with a shampoo on your hair :/. Otherwise everything was great - cleanliness, attitude, location, equiped kitchen... and the beds with a curtain are perfect :).

Le Mat hostel is surely the best place to stay in Larnaca. The location is just 1 minute by walk from the beach and 2 minutes from the city centre. The rooms, kitchen, bathroom and communal space are spacious and very clean. Kitchen is fully equipped and the bed is very comfy. Gregory is also the best and really takes care of all the guest’s needs. Can’t recommended it enough. Also just metres away from Dimitri’s for the best souvlaki in Larnaca!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Impeccably clean, very nice looking on the inside, and perfect location next to all the restaurants and about a 5 min walk to the beach. You can tell everything has been thought out well. Each of the beds has a charging port and a shelf and a nice blackout curtain for privacy. The kitchen is really nice and updated and there is free filtered water. Towel is provided even!

Perfect tranquility, beautiful building, extra comfortable bed, nice guests, large communal space, the sea just a few steps away. I would go back anytime ❤️

We had an excellent time at Le Mat Hostel. Right after our booking, they contacted us in order to know about our estimated arrival. We wrote that probably we're arriving earlier than the room is available and they offered us that we can store our packs while waiting for the room. On the contrary, when we arrived, our room was ready to take and we had a very kind acceptance. The place is beautiful wherever you see, seemingly freshly renovated and clean. We could use the common kitchen and common bathrooms but also we had our private bathroom. We could have washed our clothes for ~2 euros if we wanted to as well. The place is pretty close to the beach and restaurants&stores so it has its perfect location from every point of view. Staff, again, very kind and attentive, they even asked if the music (very good music all the time in the common area) is too loud for us (it wasn't loud:). If anyone goes to Larnaca, I would definitely offer this place for staying. We miss Larnaca, we miss Le Mat Hostel. Thank you! Gabi

The reception staff could not be better or more helpful. Comms was excellent throughout. The property, a charming old town house in the best location is probably past due for modernisation. The dorm that I was in was cramped and the bunks lacked privacy black out curtains. Value for money? Not sure.

The hostel is great. Dead in the center of town close to shops pubs beach etc. Met super cool people and the staff is great. The only thing I wish they could improve might be to clean the rooms and bathroom a little bit better. And replace some of the sheets( mine had a couple of small food stains, no big deal)

Wonderful building, only bathrooms are bad.

It's a really nice place with a cool vibe and an excellent location. I especially loved the courtyard. I also liked how the rooms have imaginative names. The only thing that was not so great was the bathroom stall. I'm a person of an average height (178cm) so I could fit in, but someone taller might have problems with sitting on the toilet and avoiding his knees touching the door. That's the one thing I would change. The staff is very polite and considerate, and since I checked in after 13, they sent me a detailed e-mail of how to enter the building and about the room. I'd recommend this hostel to everyone.

Great hostel! I have nothing to complain about. Location is superb. Interior and inner garden are the best parts. Great hostel vibe with lots of solo-travelers. Highly recommended. I stayed here for two weeks.

Really awesome place, good vibes, staff are quite nice and people often relaxing in the common areas and happy to chat. Bring some bug spay though because there are many mosquitos.

Best hostel, I have ever stayed in. Quiet, safe, clean, and only one block from the sea and five minutes from St. Lazarus church. On Saturdays, there is a farmer's market near the church. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is new. The quilt and pillows are amazingly soft. The shower room is spotless and has plenty of hot water. The kitchen is also very clean, tidy, and well organized. Greg, the owner, takes very good care of the hostel with professional cleaning staff, not volunteers. I wish all hostels had this level of quality.
