I chose LePhenix because I was visiting my sister who lived close by. The location is great and many restaurant choices are close by. The room was nicely put together and I felt very welcomed. The breakfast buffet is amazing and has lots of choices. Everyone is so friendly and very welcoming.

I did not enjoy my stay here at all and could not wait to leave. There was no Wi-Fi in my room. I complained four times but they did nothing except say sorry & seem surprised I was annoyed. Unfortunately I noticed too late that over half the reviews on TripAdvisor mention bad wifi. There were some unclean items in the room which would have been found by a simple room check. I found the facilities in the room to be somewhat of an afterthought and cheaply implemented, for example plastic cups and stirrers for hot drinks just did not seem to fit with the price of the hotel. I expected a lot better service from the staff, they need some training in customer satisfaction. It seems like a hotel torn between how to be, is it a cheap value hotel or a good premium hotel. It seems like they are aiming for the latter and if so they need to invest some more money and visit some competing hotels to see how it's done.

Located at a perfect spot for Vieux Lyon/Old Town right around the corner - also has a wonderful view of the quai on its front door! The hotel is really well done up as a refurbished older building, very boutique - some really nice courtyard areas throughout too. The top floor rooms are super spacious even with the angled ceiling - the jacuzzi bathtub was a treat after a day walking the city. Super comfy double bed too! The room/hotel is considerate about electricity usage and reducing plastic use - they offer free water refills in glass bottles which was great! A big thanks to the wonderful staff - always welcoming, always charming and always lovely to chat to whether heading out or home for the day.

Room with river view and high ceilings. Little lougne area. Very very nice. Great location you can walk anywhere and on demand chilled sparkling and still water whenever you want. Thick double windows you don’t hear any street noise

Excellent service. Friendly and professional staff. The people in the reception spoke English well. Very clean and my bed was so good. I woke up refreshed and ready for a new day. Breakfast has a choice for most people. Location is spot on as it’s a few steps from the old town. Don’t worry when the taxi stops in front of the hotel. The exterior is plain compared to interior. I asked for a room facing the back of the hotel because I like sleeping with my window open. Top floor and spot on. As a woman travelling on my own I felt safe. I’ll be back. Thank you ☺️. I stayed here in July, 2018. The facility is wonderful - charming, well appointed and very comfortable. The staff is accommodating and gracious. The location is in the old town, in a pleasant walking area, close to everything. It was a pleasure to stay here and I look forward to returning.

Nice hotel in an excellent location. Friendly staff. Room needed a little redecoration. Arrive early 2pm and If lucky hotel has very close secure parking, 4 spaces, €19 per day. Other options are on street or 7 minutes walk across river.

I stayed at Le Phenix on my honeymoon. I found a BED BUG in my room and I was told that I would be moved to another room as soon as one was available. The hotel was completely booked that night and I was told the next morning I would be able to move to another room. I reluctantly agreed because I had no other options. The next morning when I went to move my room the hotel manager said they had cleaned my room and she was not going to relocate me. She was extremely rude and definitely took advantage of us because we were American. I made no requests to be upgraded I only wanted to be moved to a room that was not COMPLETELY INFESTED WITH BED BUGS!!! There are a lot of other hotels in the area. Definitely DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Amazing location, and superb staff! Room was big, clean and modern. Had USB ports for phones next to bed. Missing was mini fridge to have cold water, but staff was nice to provide cold water from the bar downstairs when needed. Suggestion, have the ability to cast from phones to TV so that travellers can connect back. When it was 39 degrees we had to go back mid afternoon and had nothing to do. Having the ability to connect our “Netflix” or YouTube would be a great addition! Superb experience regardless!

We stayed in Le Phenix hotel the 1st weekend in October at the last minute after our Airbnb had an issue we couldn't resolve. We checked in on Friday afternoon about 30 minutes after making the reservation online and everything went very smoothly. They room was very spacious and lovely. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. The tub was jetted and so we tried out a bath. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I did not include the breakfast in our reservation as we like to walk around and try local bakeries. But it did look very appetizing and I wouldn't hesitate to eat it. highly recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights to start my trip to Europe. Stellar service and an excellent location to see Vieux Lyon. The service is really good beyond my expectations. Next time I'm in Lyon I'll stay here again.

We loved our stay at Le Phénix even though we only spent one night. The front desk staff was helpful and super friendly. The room was spacious and had a lovely view of la Saône River. The parking arrangements were convenient too as there is not a lot available around Vieux Lyon. If we are ever back in Lyon we will definitely stay here again!
