Lotus Pond is a classic Chinese restaurant which has been serving delicious food for more than 20 years now in delhi. Their location has always been NFC but after covid sadly they had to shift their restaurant to a smaller space just 3-4 shops down their original location. It was sad to see as pre covid they had really renovated the restaurant big time and made their basement bigger aswell. Now it's a smaller sized restaurant with a cosy feel to it. Luckily good old servers and staff are still retained and are serving the customers like they always used to. We went on a Sunday afternoon to have their Sunday brunch which is priced phenomenally at around 1000 per person and the amount of food served is massive. They have a set menu which they serve and it comes along with a mocktail or cold drink. We started with a soup - Hot n Sour Chicken Soup to be exact which was fantastic. Perfect soup base with a heart warming touch and bold flavours. There was loads of chicken and tofu in it. The egg drop was in abundance and really complimented the soup. The tofu was a really nice addition and made the soup delicious. For starters we were served - 1) Veg Spring Roll - Classic Veg spring rolls with loads of bean sprout filling. It was nice and went well with the chilli sauce or the sweet chilli sauce aswell. 2) Chilly Chicken - Another classic , it was a smashing dish. The chicken was flavourful and really tender and juicy. They chefs really prepared it perfectly. 3) Sliced Fish with Roasted Szechuan Pepper - This was absolutely amazing. Loved this dish so much that we moped it off completely. Lightly fried sole fish cooked with peppers and onions , the flavours were sticking yet delicate which compliment the fish very well. 5/5 and highly recommend 4) Cottage Cheese Fingers with Red Chilli and Basil - This was my personal favourite along with the Fish , these 2 dishes blowed me away. This dish was Thai style inspired and was absolutely amazing. The fragrant basil with a the spicy chilli and a bit of sweetness went along so well it was absolutely amazing. The Paneer was super tender and the outside coating was lightly crispy. 5/5 and highly recommend. For mains and sides we had - 5) Hakka Noodles - They were tasty but nothing special. Enjoyable with the mains 6) Veg Friend Rice - This was very nice , so much so one can have it by itself . The rice had a ton of corn which was a really nice addition along with the classic bell peppers , carrots etc. 7) Fish in Black Bean Sauce - One of their classic dishes and something we used to order very frequently. Sole fish in a very flavourful black bean sauce gravy which has a good amount of ginger to give it a nice kick. 8) Shredded Lamb in Hot Garlic Sauce - Another cracking dish . Both the main courses were fantastic and paired extremely well with the staples. This gravy had big bold flavours , especially of garlic . The lamb was tender and really well cooked. For dessert we had - 9) Darsan and Ice Cream - Classic Fried noodles with a sweet honey glaze and almond to top it off along with the ice cream is just fantastic. It's a classic and a dish we regularly order. For the price this Sunday brunch is absolutely smashing . Really enjoyed the food and their service is always impeccable.

Few places don't change & that's what there strength is. And that makes them stand out from the rest of the lot. Started in 1992, this place had been serving amazing Chinese food  since then at New defense colony just adjoining hotel Surya Plaza. Lotus pond is going to be the first restaurant on my list where I would want to take my family out for lunch or dinner when they visit me in Delhi And want to saver Chinese cuisine I have heard a lot about their Mocha rage. And everyone was like this is the best dessert to have. I thought of trying it and thus asked for Mocha Rage ( Rs. 395 /- ) and a fried ice cream (Rs. 345/-) And the Devilish mocha rage was served with 2 scoops of ice cream - a scoop of chocolate flavor and another coffee flavour with a huge peice of chocolate fantasy. This is pure Bliss,Loaded with chocolate truly foodgasmic. I could not imagine coffee and chocolate flavors will go so well to make such an outstanding dessert. And trust me the picture doesn't do any justice to the taste here. Must try :Undoubtedly Mocha Rage

We dined on 19jily22.. 3 of us! We are vegetarians .. the veg chopsuey was stale! Please be aware.. although we didnot complain! My husband mentioned to me gently.. but.. the place has lost its sheen, it’s no more a warm ambience.. comfort sitting! It was once our favourite pan Asian joint! But we were very disappointed and regretted being there! The tables are so basic , chairs unbelievably hard! We can pass this joint, as now many many new options are available in terms of ambience, quality of food and for this price! Not worth the spend.. and mind you the entrance is not what the pics show, sure it used to be like this.. not any more

Haven't tried this authentic taste since time immemorial. Spend quality time with an amazing ambience but the best part was the well trained and professional staff with a personal and caring touch. Thank you for the wonderful time.

Great Chinese restaurant in Delhi! Very delicious and superb service from all staffs. I accidentally dropped a glass cup of ice cream. All staffs ran to me and said it's totally ok don't worry and bring a new cup of ice cream for me. Thank you so much!

This is a place where we have been visiting since 1996 and the taste and quality remain same throughout this journey. One of the best Oriental food eatery of the town , bit expensive but always strives for new menu and services. In our last visit we tried Chef's basket of Dim Sum and Tom Kha soup along with our old favorite - Chilli Sesame Lamb. Then we had Burnt Garlic Sezwan Rice and Terriyaki Chicken. Finally, concluded with Fried Ice cream. All found to be extremely tasty as usual. A fantastic ambience for foodies with excellent service.

This iconic restaurant in New friends colony has been serving for over 2 decades now, i have visited this new location for the first time and the previous location numerous times. The food is always great and never lets you down. I usually go for my favourites such as their Honey Chicken, diced chicken and I am always happy! The new location is smaller than the previous location however you still would be able to get seating if you reserve in advance. A must visit for Chinese food restaurant in NFC!

My experience was OK not good as I was served raw dumpling the chicken was raw. The quantity in the meal was good enough for both of us.

Quite a fine dining with amazing quality & quantity of food...ample parking space, very attentive staff. Might be possible that you feel the menu pricing is slightly on the higher end. You get Chinese & some items of Thai cuisine.

Really bad food. I ordered Thinkpalm and they send me boiled red water with hardly any noodles or chicken. It was just two litres of drainage water.

Food is good, but a little overpriced. The overall ambience is premium and peaceful. The soul was pretty awesome. Must try the Lotus stem.

This is one of the best restaurant serving Chinese cuisine since a very long time. The cost for two people can range around Rs 2000. It might seem a bit expensive but the food is worth the price. The portion of dish is good enough for 2-3 people. On my personal recommendation ask for crispy noodle salad you might like it.

This place is right behind suryaa hotel and reviews were decent. The place is very ordinary and food is below average for the price. We took chicken dumplings which were not great. Also took mongolian chicken and a noodle dish which was also very average. You can find better food in other restaurants in delhi- wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

We have been going to this restaurant for the last 6 years and they have never failed us. Whether it comes to service, food, quality and ambience, Lotus Pond has always been at the top of our list. It is slightly hard on the pocket, but is worth every bite. Our standard order is the shredded lamb in hot garlic sauce. We have tried almost every dish on their menu and all as good as the other. The staff are very pleasant and courteous and smart. I recommend it to anyone who comes from out and wants to eat chinese. Keep up the good work Lotus Pond.

Value is what any restaurant delivers by driving a fine balance between quality of the food it serves, and the price that it charges for the same. Unfortunately, the Lotus Pond restaurant is no longer able to maintain that balance, it seems. This is not the first time I have ordered from this eatery in Delhi's New Friends Colony area. In fact, my family and I have been a regular at the place for many years now. And when the pandemic put a stop to that, we started ordering-in. We have noticed an erosion in standards for some time now, but today Lotus Pond finally crashed into the abyss. Our order was rather simple - Cherry Honey Chicken accompanied by chicken Hakka noodles. Not much that could go wrong, you would think. Well, think again. The Chicken main course turned out to be lumps of hard, over-fried meat dunked in something with the consistency and taste of a sugary cough syrup. If that wasn't bad enough, the noodles were bland to the point of being unappetizing. The Chicken in the noodle was conspicuous by its absence. Seriously? One could forgive if it was the local Chinese van chef having a bad day at the office, but when you have shelled out Rs. 1100 for 2 dishes, the least you expect is five-star quality or at least close enough. Lotus Pond has been around since the time when Chinese restaurants in Delhi were not quite as ubiquitous as they are today, and nostalgia is one reason why people like me keep going back to it. It's therefore sad to see Lotus Pond squander away its hard won reputation and goodwill with loyal customers to make a fast buck. Lotus Pond should seriously start focusing on the food that it serves today, instead of hoping that their past glory will help them navigate the choppy waters ahead. The sailing is bound to get hard when loyal customers abandon ship.
