I recently stayed at Hotel Albela House in McLeod Ganj a month but left before our tenure was up. My overall experience was okay, there were some aspects that left me feeling a bit disappointed. summary Pros: The rooms and bathrooms are very clean There is parking available Washing machine is available at no cost Proximity to main market The staff behavior is good. Cons: The building looks a little old and situated in a congested area. But tricky to locate the place with google map. The surroundings are not well-maintained Gaps in windows and doors cause low temperatures inside, making it unsuitable for winter stays The kitchen was not functional as advertised, making it difficult for people who prefer cooking their own food The balcony ceiling was leaking and there were splits in the walls, making the stay uncomfortable during rainy days. The hotel is located in a congested area, but fortunately, they do have parking available. The building itself looks a little old, but the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. However, the hotel doesn't maintain its surroundings very well. The kitchen was not functional as advertised. They provided only a half-liter cooker, a tea pan, and two plates and glasses, which was difficult for us as we are used to cooking our own food. However, it may not be a big deal for normal people. The washing machine was available at no cost. During our off-season visit in February, we were given a third-floor suite with a kitchen. While the room was nice, I would caution against staying here during the winter months. There were so many gaps in the windows and doors that the temperature inside was significantly lower also the floor was tiled that made it worse. Even though we were in high altitude Manali during the peak of winter, we never felt as cold as we did at Albela House. When it rained during our stay, it was absolutely horrible. The wind blew through the gaps in the windows and doors, making us freeze inside. Even with all our winter clothes on, we felt really cold. The ceiling in the balcony was leaking, and there were several cracks in the walls. Therefore, we wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you're visiting during sunny summer days. Overall, while the rooms and bathrooms were clean, the lack of proper insulation and maintenance of the property made it difficult to recommend Hotel Albela House during other season but for sunny days its an okay option.

We were at family tour to Himachal Pradesh. We stayed at Albela house and cafe for two days during first week of Nov 22. We experienced very good service and hospitality from hotel staff. The view from rooms balcony was very nice. One can see snow capped mountains ranges. Rooms are quite small and old fashion. Overall it was good experience.

Easy to find place. The host as well as services were friendly. The atmosphere of the place was very calming and peaceful. The host, Akash was a great guide, he suggested various places to travel, eat & shop. Along with all of this, the service of this place was awesome weather it's regarding room or food. I was traveling with my mother and got the room on the top floor but when I talked to akash he shifted my room to the group floor so that my mother can get comfortable and can enjoy her trip easily.

I stayed at the hotel for a day. The hotel's location was perfect, with several popular attractions and dining options within walking distance. I was able to explore the city conveniently and return to the comfort of the hotel without any hassle. Friendly and helpful hotel staff who went out of their way to assist us. Clean and well-maintained room with comfortable beds, adequate amenities, and a peaceful atmosphere. Special mention to the owner Mr. Akash Aggarwal for maintaining the property well and welcoming each guest with warmth.

My fiancé and I stayed for one month here. The hygienic standard is very high, the view of the mountains is breathtaking. All of the staff and hosts are very pleasant people, always making sure that we were enjoying our stay and we had everything we needed. The Albela House Café was also wonderful, they have great food and make amazing coffee, and also a great place to sit, read, and relax. I highly recommend this guest house to any and all travelers going in the direction of Daramshala/McLeod Ganj!

Stayed here for approximately 2 weeks. The place is nearby Mcleodganj market . I booked a room with kitchenette found the room to be very well equipped. Any thing required can be taken care by the manager Ravinder . The food menu is limited but the food prepared is delicious . The staff is great and polite. Housekeeping is good . The place has a homely vibe to it . Not like your typical hotel you'll definitely like the vibe of the place. Overall a great stay . Would be staying here again if I visit Dharamshala

Had an amazing 3 day stay at the Albela house, by the end I was wanting to stay for a much longer time, the host Akash is very sweet and does his best to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. He even has some amazing suggestions for good food around the stay. Highly recommend!

I recently stayed at Albela House Hotel, and while I appreciate some aspects of my stay, there were several issues that need attention to enhance the overall guest experience. Strong Unpleasant Smell: The room I was assigned had a persistent and unpleasant odor that seemed to come from the ceiling. It made my stay quite uncomfortable, and I believe it needs immediate attention. Bathroom Door Lock: I was surprised to find that there was no lock on the bathroom door. Privacy is essential when using the bathroom, and the absence of a lock was inconvenient and uncomfortable. Inconvenient Location: The hotel's location was not ideal for me. It was situated atop a location with many stairs, making it challenging to access the market area and other attractions. This can be a significant inconvenience for guests who have difficulty with stairs. Lack of On-Site Dining: It would have been more convenient if the hotel had an on-site restaurant or at least offered room service. Having to go out for every meal was not what I expected from a hotel. I hope my feedback can be taken as an opportunity for improvement. I believe addressing these issues would greatly enhance the guest experience at your hotel. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

It is more like a holiday rental as no room service will be provided..You have to make your own arrangements if you need anything. I would not say it bad but If you are looking for little bit of luxury or comfort, this place is not for you. For ex. They even can not provide an umbrella to walk to your room from the reception or their restaurant. Except room, small kitchen setup, two towels and a soap ...if you will ask for anything or any kind of service it will be a No definitely. Though if you could adjust yourself according to the availability of things and situation you would enjoy your stay but the rates are a little higher for this.
