2/5 EightNomad 7 months ago on Google
I
went
to
this
restaurant
a
few
weeks
ago
for
my
second
time.
The
food
was
very
delicious.
I
ordered
4
meats,
cold
kimchi
noodle
soup,
and
fish
cake
soup.
I
really
enjoyed
pairing
the
pork
with
the
banchan
so
after
I
finished
the
first
plates
of
banchan,
of
course
I
ordered
more
as
I
was
told
it
was
free.
I
waited
for
a
server
to
come
by
and
no
server
ever
came
to
check
on
our
table.
So
I
politely
said
excuse
me
a
bit
louder
so
a
server
can
hear
me.
No
one
came.
I
raised
my
hand
and
the
owner
and
I
locked
eye
contact
and
he
did
not
get
a
server
to
attend
to
us.
I
had
to
ask
a
bit
louder
for
the
staff
to
bring
some
more.
Second
plates
came
and
I
ate
all
of
it
with
my
girlfriend.
I
asked
for
more
kimchi,
potatoes,
sauce,
lettuce
and
beansprout/green
onion
mix.
The
manager
then
came
to
our
table
and
told
us
that
after
the
3rd
plates
of
banchan
we
had
to
pay
30k
more.
She
made
us
feel
guilty
for
ordering
by
saying
if
you
keep
ordering
banchan
the
restaurant
will
lose
money....
I
understand...if
someone
just
orders
3
meats
for
180k
and
just
eats
banchan,
then
yes,
they
might
lose
money
and
they
should
stop
the
person
from
doing
that.
Our
bill
came
out
to
520k.
We
ordered
a
lot
for
2
people.
They
did
give
some
free
things
though.
Real
free
things
such
as
water,
salt
and
pepper,
toothpicks,
garlic
and
chili
peppers.
Not
sure
if
the
gochujang
was
free
or
not.
I
didn't
want
the
manager
to
ruin
my
meal,
as
the
food
was
very
good.
By
the
end
of
the
meal
I
asked
to
speak
with
the
owner.
The
owner
told
me
that
I
only
ordered
side
dishes.
I
told
him
I
didn't
only
order
side
dishes,
I
ordered
2
soups
and
3
meats,
which
came
out
to
520k.
The
banchan
was
only
cheap
vegetables
and
I
was
told
it
was
free
from
my
first
visit.
Banchan
is
free
everywhere.
It's
part
of
Korean
culture.
Did
I
get
treated
like
this
because
I
was
not
Korean?
I'm
not
sure.
Does
this
happen
to
Korean
people,
I'm
not
sure.
The
owner
then
told
me
by
the
end
that
the
banchan
was
free
and
he
said
he
will
retrain
the
staff
and
manager
and
he
just
said
sorry.
He
left
and
sat
back
down
and
worked
on
his
computer.
1.)
This
was
not
the
fault
of
the
manager.
The
manager
was
given
directions
by
the
owner
to
stop
giving
me
more.
He
used
the
manager
as
a
scapegoat
so
he
doesn't
have
to
take
responsibility.
2.)
If
he
truly
cared
about
customer
service
and
"retraining"
the
manager,
he
would
have
went
straight
to
the
manager
after
he
left
my
table.
My
girlfriend
also
left
a
review
explaining
the
experience
on
Google
maps.
When
we
were
about
to
leave
the
owner
said
sorry,
the
banchan
is
free,
can
you
take
the
review
down?
So
the
owner
is
more
worried
about
the
review
rather
than
our
customer
experience
(which
was
terrible).
I
told
him
I
will
consider
it
so
that's
why
I
am
leaving
2
stars.
I
still
will
say
the
food
is
amazing,
but
customer
service
is
a
foreign
concept
to
them.
I
wish
I
could
go
back,
but
I
will
not.
I
was
going
to
bring
all
my
staff
from
my
company
there
for
a
team
building
event
but
now
I
think
we
will
go
to
Meok
Ssam.
They
have
around
25
different
banchan
there...actually
unlimited
banchan,
no
questions
asked.
Message
to
the
owner,
learn
from
this
experience
and
become
better.
