at
first
the
receptionist
looked
at
me
like
i
was
in
the
wrong
hotel.
maybe
because
a
young
backpacker
is
not
always
their
clientele.
when
i
checked
into
my
room,
i
got
charged
for
3
instead
of
2
nights,
when
he
noticed,
he
kindly
excused
the
accident
(it’s
okay,
everybody
makes
mistakes).
my
room
was
not
very
clean,
there
was
no
toilet
paper
left,
the
bathroom
mat
had
holes
and
there
were
dead,
as
well
as
alive,
cockroaches.
i
was
able
to
change
into
another
room,
which
was
cleaner
but
there
was
a
toothbrush
laying
next
to
the
sink.
when
i
got
back
in
the
evening,
i
tried
opening
the
door
with
my
keycard,
which
didn’t
work.
the
staff
opened
the
door
for
me
with
another
card
and
left.
the
same
problem
occurred
the
next
day,
which
was
handled
the
same
way.
the
woman
couldn‘t
speak
any
english.
in
the
evening,
i
talked
to
the
receptionist
which
tried
opening
my
door
with
my
card.
surprise:
it
didn’t
work…
then
he
showed
me
with
his
card
how
to
open
the
door,
as
if
i’ve
been
doing
it
all
wrong
(his
card
opened
the
door-the
light
turned
blue-mine
didn‘t-the
light
turned
red).
at
this
point
i
was
so
tired
of
it,
i
just
left
it,
as
i
was
leaving
the
next
morning.
when
i
wanted
to
leave,
there
was
no
one
at
the
reception.
the
days
before
that,
i
could
always
spot
them
on
the
tv
with
the
security
cameras
and
went
up
to
their
floor.
this
time
i
didn’t.
i
waited
for
half
an
hour
before
i
left
because
there
was
no
one
and
i
had
to
go
in
order
to
catch
my
train.
