A little hidden away in an alley, like many great restaurants in Vietnam. Excellent BBQ. Small air conditioned area up very steep small stairs. American quality BBQ! The best I have eaten in Vietnam. Dodge 2 mosquitos and 3 Korean groups for bonus points and you are then a regular at Poomba’s, congratulations!

I ordered the "Kitchen Sink" burger and potato salad, to takeaway. It was pretty early in the evening and quiet, only one cook working at that point. They made the burger fresh. It was just like described on the menu. The bun was fresh too, and tasty, as were the condiments. The potato salad is actually a warm dish. It's made with baked potato, bacon, boiled egg, and a few other things like scallion. The burger was top-notch and the smoked meats layered on it were as good or better than at any smokehouse I've tried. They smoke the meats right there. I would definitely eat here again. The BBQ sauce was good too. You can see what was left on my plate at the end. And it was very filling. The only slightly negative aspect was they added VAT tax on top of the menu cost, which is 8%, just so you know before the bill comes. I didn't drop the review rating, because the food was great and the owner explained how the VAT tax works.

We had inconvenient incident with them. I was so excited about the reviews, the restaurant is super fancy, but apparently they don’t accept credit card. I didn’t bother to ask if they accept credit card because: 1. The restaurant is super fancy and touristy. It’s not like it should be expected from us to ask them. 2. Every detail was written in the menu, including VAT. So why not mentioning that you don’t accept credit card? 3. The dishes are super expensive. If you charge that amount you shouldn’t expect people to walk with 600k for no special reason. 4. I am very sick right now, I couldn’t order because I couldn’t talk, so in that case they need to think a little bit. Maybe to tell that we will have to go (grab/walk) to ATM. If I would know that they don’t get credit card we would go to a different restaurant. It was too much trouble for us. I still recommend going to this restaurant because it was the best hamburger I had.

The food was quite literally amazing. Who would have thought that I would have to go to Vietnam to stumble across fantastic BBQ. We had the platter as seen in the photo. Just don't forget to order a side with it. The servers went above and beyond and were more than helpful!

I like the atmosphere of this place, it's very casual and friendly. Even those frog dogs seems to be on their own places 😉 And of course the food.. Well described in menu but 10x times better than you would expect. That's what i feel every time i came here. Thanks to Jason and his wife for such a great place to enjoy a food 🙏

(I never write reviews but this restaurant, you MUST try) Best food in Danang!! I really loved the steak and rips❣️ It was so delicious, juicy and tender! They have really really cold draft beer also🍺 you must try 😋😋 BTW, the master(?) in this restaurant is very fluent in english 👍

The best way to describe this amazing restaurant would be a hidden gem! Tucked away in a small, quiet alley, walking distance from An Thuong and the beach, with wonderful family atmosphere... Not to forget, the food is pretty good!

Truly a hidden gem of a restaurant! The BBQ is American based in Texas and North Carolina, very nice owner who learned his craft in Texas and the deep south. Barbecue served fresh and presented better than I have seen anywhere in North America and I know BBQ! The brisket is melt in your mouth tender, amazing Carolina pulled pork and any of the sauces available are so authentic! So far, I've had the porky Mac, smoked beef brisket, whiskey jack beef ribs, smoked pork ribs and a few sides. Everything was delicious!

What can I say about this place? I would give 6 stars if I had the option. :-) in this trip to Da Nang I have been here twice and my next trip I will look for a room next to them. It’s not vegan friendly. 😂 FOOD: let’s start from the main factor here. The meat! It’s amazing. It’s tasty. It’s smoky. The brisket melts in your mouth. The ribs make you wanna bring the bone home and keep biting on it till the whole thing is gone. SERVICE: the staff speak a good English. They are very kind and ready to help you with your decisions LOCATION: it’s a bit difficult to find the first time. But it’s worth the trip. The resturant looks amazing and cozy. Perfect place to eat in silence. THE FROGS: are noise and are always there. I haven’t seen them but they are kind of the mascotte of the resturant. Don’t try to kiss them. 😂 they will not become a prince

Food that will hold its own against most Southern American BBQ restaurants, with a few Canadian twists! A bit hard to find as it's down a narrow alley. For those complaining it's a bit pricey, BBQ like this takes 12hrs+ to smoke properly. It's a delicacy of sorts. Life is short, stuff your face here and waddle home happy 🙂

If you haven't already, order food from Poomba's Smokehouse. I highly recommend the philly cheesesteak. The french dip and burger are also delicious. Poomba's owners are very kind and recently sent along a free peach cobbler while I am stuck in quarantine. You will love the food!

It was our short stay in Danang & we were surprised by the service & food quality here. Not to mention that there is a nice dog frog on the background - it is really cozy atmosphere. We tried Jack burger & crispy pork belly - good food 🥰 We come here next time to try the steak for sure!

Absolutely amazing smoked meat! Brisket was fantastic, steak was tender and buttery, some smaller ribs were the best. Salad super fresh, beer in a cooler sleeve. Was an enjoyable experience,definitely recommend.

Ribs were absolutely mouth watering and the pulled pork sandwich was top notch! Both meals were absolutely delicious! This BBQ place is better than most back home (Alberta, Canada). Definitely a surprise to find it in Vietnam. Highly highly recommend!

My fiance booked here last night for my birthday. On arrival the waiter Dave (Dât) wished me a happy birthday and was so sweet throughout the night and very attentive to everyone in the restaurant. The food was SO good! We got the meat platter, mashed potatoes and hand cut fries. I also got a drink and a dessert included as a gift. We were so pleased that we chose here and would really recommend it!

The food was very good and we loved the location. We sat in an outdoor garden and it was relatively quiet. We really enjoyed our time here.

Came here with my family while on holiday in Danang, the food is 10/10, we each got something different from the menu and shared. I had the hanging steak and it was delicious, so tender and cooked to perfection. We had a great chat with the manager who gave us recommendations for Hoi An. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, The card machine wasn’t working the day that we went and one of the Waiters drove my mum to the nearest ATM to take out money⭐️

Our favourite place to eat in Da Nang! The hanging steak was phenomenal, medium rare with choices of sides. The Porky Mac was incredible, I ordered hand cut fries on the side and all was amazing!! The deep fried snickers was delicious too!! The staff were so kind and sweet, we ate here about 5 times on our holiday both dine in and takeaway when it was raining 🙏😁

I went there to check out the brisket as Texas in general have a special place in my heart, but unfortunately I didn’t fall in love with Poomba’s signature dish, the brisket tasted oaky, but it didn’t blow my mind. Coleslaw was okay, but didn’t convince me to give it another try 😞 Also, the unfortunate part was that their credit card machine didn’t work, and for a repeat visit I have to carry cash?!, So for those who carry cash with them all the time shouldn’t be a problem, but tbh it’s good to have a choice, but during my first visit I didn’t, so that’s disappointing a bit. The staff - nice, they brought a glass of ice water while i was waiting for a take out, and I’m grateful for that, however still cannot give “5 stars” overall review (sorry)

This place is a must visit hidden gem- the food is absolutely delicious. We inhaled our meals and forgot to take pictures. The brisket sandwich is so juicy and flavorful. The chili is also so good. I strongly recommend this place! Owner is very hospitable and welcoming as well.

Was so good! And they are super kinds for everything. It would be great If the the level of cooking for meat was more delicate! But still was good dinner for us!☺️

Two stars because the waitress alone was fantastic. I was the only person dining at this restaurant when I went. I like to give places the benefit of the doubt and try for myself. I especially dislike bad reviews. Uhhhg....Here we go. The ribs and brisket were halfway to being jerky. Rubbery with too much pepper. I totally get that this is an outdoor courtyard.... and this is vietnam. But the little visitors to my table were a bit off-putting. The frog on my seat and the 5 rats that ran along the wall next my table absolutely affected my experience. The cooks that watched me watching the rats like it was acceptable. Sorry guys... this was a massive swing and a miss.

Everything was delicious! We tried the chicken wings, ribs, coleslaw and potato croquettes. We will definitely be back! Our kids loved it too.

Delicious food and a great location. Very peaceful and enjoyable dining experience. I had the Montreal smoked meat sandwich. It was nice to have a taste from home. 514 approved. I'll be coming back again for sure.

Have said it to Jason and the staff last night, and will say it again — genuinely one of the best, if not THE best barbecues we’ve had in Vietnam. We tried the Smokehouse Platter and the Ribs, along with a variety of can’t-get-enough-of-it sides, but what really stood out for me was the heavenly chicken wings and the beef brisket that literally made me gasp “oh my god” on first bite. Definitely waiting on the Saigon branch! ❤️
