To me, this place is one of the most beautiful in the whole region of Southeast Asia. Even more beautiful than Suzhou in China. I was really amazed by the old architecture and how preserved it is. The atmosphere with the river, floating boats, and lanterns that are everywhere is just simply amazing. Worthy of spending here even a few days instead just of a night. Thank you😍

All the online recommendations tell you to come to this place but it’s overhyped. You don’t need to come or take a photo. The bridge is really underwhelming when you see it in person, but because there are not many things to do I think you could think it’s interesting. If you come see it, take photos but don’t expect more than 2 min here, your photo and goodbye.

Nice place to take a pic with special background but it's highly recommended to go early to have space 😀.....the area around is full with nice restaurants and coffee shops also there is a market not far from there. Any way it's ideal toursitc place and as a tourist you can't miss it.

The bridge is NOT OPEN! It's literally been covered in a tin shed for months whilst under repair...how misleading to see travel bloggers posting reviews that suggest they've visited this as recently as yesterday! The precinct around this area is definitely worth visiting late at night (around 7-9 p.m.) for a boat ride to release a wish/ prayer or an amazing photo of lanterns for free.

Chùa Cầu, also known as the Pagoda Bridge, is a captivating blend of serenity and architectural marvel in Hội An, Vietnam. Its gracefully arched structure, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant colors, creates a mesmerizing sight. As you stroll across the bridge, the rhythmic flow of the Thu Bồn River beneath adds to the tranquil ambiance. The pagoda's historical significance adds depth to the experience, offering a glimpse into Vietnam's rich cultural tapestry. Whether during the day, with sunlight casting a warm glow, or in the evening when lanterns illuminate the surroundings, Chùa Cầu stands as a symbol of timeless beauty and spiritual resonance in this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Beautiful tiny temple on the bridge. Glad to visit this place while it's not super crowded. Not sure what it looks like during the day but it's pretty at night, and only a block away from the Thu Bon River where there are lots of lantern boats and restaurants. It's a good ending to the short walk from the fabric district and Hoi An market.

Unfortunately, we couldn't take a picture of the iconic bridge from the outside, since it was under reconstruction works when I visited. However, we managed to walk on the inside of the bridge. There were intricate carvings, but I felt like it needed maintenance. The bridge was very crowded, full of tourists.

The bridge is under maintenance, so nothing much to see, super disappointed. One can buy a ticket n take the temporary metal bridge to go up the for a better view of the current status but, this is all that is left of the bridge as of now.

This bridge is built on 1593 by Japanese merchant. There is a temple on the bridge. Both end of the bridge is guarded by two monkey statue at one end and two dog statue at the other end. The bridge is very popular photo spot at night.

This place is a spectacle. I went there alone for a walk and i feel i can go there everyday and never get bored of the beauty of this place. Also, buy some good leather goods. Generally, the prices are 1/3 of what fhey offer. E.g I got a bag for which i was quotes 1.3 mil Dong for 380K dong. Also, if you are with your partner, do take a lantern boat ride, it is something.

The bridge is kept and preserve at its olden days. But there is a honest person at Friendship mart just right after the temple and bridge. We lost a phone. He picked up and return to us after we call on the phone. He did not accept any money from us. If you are there, go and buy something from this shop Photo attached

6 am walk provides a clear view and access to the Old Town area without hassles. Day is reasonable, evenings and weekends busy but not hectic as in previous years. Love this area, and having a polite and friendly approach with the local people will reward you with many lovely memories

Nice area to visit with a well preserved historic architecture and style. Specifically the temple on the bridge is a very small one and can be visited by buying a combined ticket that includes several old building entrances.

Such a wonderful place to visit, reached from Da Nang by a private vehicle, trip took around 30 mins. Every corner has something which you can discover, from the tasty and delicious restaurants of all kinds (Italian/Asian/Greek), architecture is quite unique and distinct. Very colorful village packed with traditions and cultural spirit Don't miss the night markets with the traditional lanterns lighting up the sky. Try to plan out your trip in a good weather as the humidity might negatively impact the experience in general.

The pagoda lies next to a river. I like enjoying the coffee at the nearby shop while watching lots of tourist passing by. This is indeed such a touristy area. If you want to take a photo with the iconic bridge of the pagoda, sometimes you have to wait for a while.

Packed! There is nothing peaceful or calm on this bridge. Take a selfie outside the bridge if you can manage to be the only person in the frame. We couldn't because everyone was jostling for the right spot

Tiny and short yet such a historic and significant bridge! Visit it then you may be related to their 20k dong money:) Too many people were lined up to get into the temple yesterday afternoon, but this morning I can easily get into it

If you ever happen to stop by in Da Nang, don't hesitate to visit the next best tourist spot in Hoi An. I drove in a motorcycle for about 1 hr to get there from Danang. It was all worth it.

Must visit place. The old japanese bridge is beautifully maintained. You can visit Hoi An river nearby as well. It's worth visiting during Lunar new year or at the evening for the best view of lantern boats floating on the river.

Architecturally interesting but a little crowded even in January to really appreciate the lovely bridge. I wouldn’t walk across town to see it but as it’s close to the old town streets and evening activity around the river front it was worth the visit.

Amazing place to visit along with all the other ancient locations specified on the Old Town places to visit map. You’ll need tickets to visit each one but they didn’t really check for the Japanese Covered Bridge. It was a beautiful architectural sight and very cool to learn about the interesting history of the bridge and symbolic representation as the connection between the Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese cultures. There’s even a temple inside the bridge you can visit. The only drawback is that it can get very crowded during certain times of the day such as the late afternoons.

Lots of tourists at the bridge and it's nothing special. Didn't spend much time here, just enough for a quick snap.
