I had the pleasure of dining at Vegan Shala in Rishikesh, India, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The restaurant has a wonderful open space with plenty of natural lighting, surrounded by greenery. I also adored the friendly presence of their adorable dog, Scooby. The ambience and decor truly create a relaxing atmosphere. The service at Vegan Shala was top-notch, and I've developed a great friendship with the owners through our daily conversations. They truly make you feel like part of the family. Now, let's talk about the food. Vegan Shala offers an impressive selection of organic vegan drinks/dishes/deserts that are thoughtfully prepared to be health-conscious. The flavours are well-balanced, and I appreciate that the dishes aren't overly salty, oily, or spicy. They make their own coconut, almond, and oak milk, among other items on the menu. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that prioritises nutritious options Something to keep in mind is the pricing aspect, as the prices at Vegan Shala are slightly higher compared to other nearby restaurants in the area. While I understand the focus on organic ingredients and quality, it's something to consider when dining here. Overall, Vegan Shala is a fantastic spot for those seeking a peaceful dining experience with excellent service and a health-conscious menu. Please also check out and try their Mata Ji Chai at their nearby place and their food products orders. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Best Vegan Food In rishikesh area

Very peaceful place. Good coffee, food is fresh, all the waiters are friendly, know English and always ready to help. You can seat on the grass in a sunny day or under the roof. It is a good place to chill watching mountains and feel the sacredness of Rishikesh.

The owner was kind and laid back with great service. Environment is surprisingly peaceful for the normal hustle and bustle of Rishikesh. Somehow even the vegan milkshake felt light and refreshing! Delicious was to settle the tummy after a day of street food. Going back for Breakfast tomorrow!

Not salty, not spicy. Fresh ingredients. Flavorful. Good place to relax and eat in peace. I like the vegan bowl. But today i tried the Khichdi. Not so porridge (as usually is the Khichdi) but still tasty.

The food was good, but they give us a Dessert of coco that was absolute amazing! The place is nice and the service was good !

Had lunch and just had to return later for dinner ! I'm not a vegan but I do enjoy vegan dishes! New place too ! Location was accessible from 2 areas and id suggest it was suitable for wheelchair access from 1. Deserts looked great but was too full each time. Will return for a try to a Vega version of cheese cake, carrot cake; to name just a few!

Good coffee, good food, good vibes! Went here for breakfast once and wanted to come back several times, but unfortunately the opening hours are a bit unreliable. But if it is open when you pass by - definitely go in and enjoy!

Was just roaming around and saw this beautiful cafe. It's a cute, beautiful cafe that serve delicious vegan food. I tried a chocolate shake made of soy milk along with falafal served with hummus. I really recommend this cafe.

The BEST vegan milkshakes I've had in the past 6 years! This was an oasis in the desert, a diamond in the rough. As a vegan, it was tough to find fully vegan businesses to support, especially in Rishikesh. While it was a little tough to find, I'm glad we did as it led to one of the best meals I've eaten! The hash browns were amazing, the mix within the wrap was great, the Thai curries and tofu scramble were top as well! My only small suggestions are as follows: 1. To make the Carrot Cake and the Caramel Coconut Cake a bit more moist. 2. Either make the wrap into a roll, or if folding it in half, don't cut through the long edge. 3. Tone down the spice quite a bit, especially if the client is not used to an Indian level of spice. All in all, I give it a 9.5/10. The staff, ambience and food are not to be missed while in Rishikesh!

Vegan Shala was a home away from home during my 5 week 300 hour YTT. The BEST chai and golden milk in Rishikesh, amazing dosas (get the royal dosa), wonderful cakes and desserts, and great wifi. The owner and his wife are inspirational, kind and wonderful. Don’t miss a chai or lunch opportunity here!

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Delicious vegan food options, Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, variety of smoothie bowls and wonderful toppings. I would recommend everyone to come and have an. different experience, plus points if you’re a dog lover, you’ll get to meet scooby. I would love to come back as often as possible.

I’d come here most days when completing my yoga teacher training nearby. The best chai I had in Rishikesh and also the dosas are amazing! The staff grew to know a group of us and were always friendly. So was Scooby the dog! I’ll miss it here for sure! 💜

Vegan Shala is the best place in Rishikesh! The chai is absolutely perfectly spiced and made with their homemade coconut milk. You can also get a dirty chai, which is a DELICIOUS pick me up. They have desserts that are perfectly sweet (not too sweet). Lots of options for food and snacks - authentic and not! Burgers, Maggi, soup, and more. Absolutely a must if you’re in the area.
