Gurdwara
Gau
Ghat,
on
the
banks
of
river
Satluj
in
Punjab,
is
the
place
where
Guru
Nanak
Dev
Ji
visited
in
1515.
Nawab
of
Lodhi,
Jalaludin
was
the
ruler,
who
along
with
his
courtiers
met
the
Guru
and
requested
Him
to
save
the
city
from
erosion
caused
by
the
Satluj
river.
Guru
ji
replied
to
him,
that
if
he
servea
his
people
by
doing
justice,
Satluj
river
will
move
7
miles
away
from
the
city
and
this
place
will
become
prosperous.
In
this
way
Gurudwara
Sahib,
on
the
banks
of
river
Satluj
in
Punjab
known
as
‘Dariya
Ghat’
got
the
name
‘Gau
Ghat’.
