Reached here after a tiring day travelling to Shillong, and trust me when i say this, one look at the view and it felt like all my burdens had been lifted, i was just lost looking at the canyon. Greenery as far as the eyes could see. Wild flowers blooming on the slopes. Looking at cows grazing felt like I was in some kind of a dream. Was one of the happiest sunsets in a long time, and it got even better when it got dark and the moon came up, just magical. Even the drive here from Shillong city was quite scenic.

A amazing viewpoint with rolling hills & canyons. Though it is suggested to be visited around the monsoon months to enjoy this in its best form covered in green carpet all over. There are some eating options but very costly, 1 plate momo costing Rs 110. So better to skip meals at this place.

The beautiful Laitlum Canyons are a sight to behold. The place is amazing and spectacular with one of the best views your eyes will witness. Even though it takes about an hour and half to reach the place, it is totally worth it. Reaching the place from the city is easy, one can book a cab as well. The clouds feel like they're right above you, while the glistening rays of the sun will soak you up. Totally a 5 on 5 for Laitlum.

Picturesque place to visit near Shillong . There’s flower blooming on the slopes and small fountains made the whole surrounding beautiful . Must visit while you are in Shillong . We went there by cab which we have rented for whole Meghalaya trip . No entry fee. Few shops nearby for some quick snacks if required .

Not much explored and crowded. Worth to add this picturesque destination into your Meghalaya trip itinerary. It’s an amazing destination, with lot of view points. There are some few shops where you can have food, also don’t miss the hot lemon tea which is being sold by localities at the view point.

A wonderful place to visit with your friends or family, favourable and easy to access for all age groups. Entry is free but you have to pay for the vehicle parking; Rs 30 for the two wheeler, Rs 50 for the four wheeler and Rs 100 for the heavy vehicle. Tourists are advised to carry an extra bag for carrying their own waste since it's a plastic free zone, though dustbins are available at the site.

This location is aesthetically pleasing, but I would not describe the view as breathtaking, as some might say. It is situated relatively close to Shillong as compared to Sohra. Go in the morning hours as the sun by noon gets quite hot.

This is one of the best places worth coming down in outskirts of shillong The view from here is breathtaking You can just sit and relax for hours and walk around the canyon. Best part is like other tourist spots the place is not overly crowded. It takes exactly 1 hr to reach this place from centre point of Shillong. The African yellow coloured grasses are worth the visit and efforts. You don't have any entry charges You just have to pay a nominal amount for parking

It's really a peace of heaven on earth. The place is so beautiful. Best for a family picnic or even for a short term visit. The best time to visit is in the early morning as the weather might change very rapidly and clouds starts covering the area making the visibly difficult, Also the sunrise is beautiful. So the best time to visit the place is around 7-9 am .

One of the best places to visit if you are in Shillong. Breathtaking views (provided you get a clear sky during the visit). Its not just a view point to stand for couple of minutes and move on, can easily walk around and spend couple of hours here. Its spread across a vast area and you can easily explore around here.

Laitlum Grand Canyon is a breathtaking natural wonder! No words can truly describe its beauty. Despite spending an entire day here, I felt like I needed more time to take it all in.

It's a must visit place, people literally feel like they are in their dreams and when you first see it then the only thing you will say is just jump and fly because it's a place of peaceful moments . You can find some snacks there like Cup noodles, tea noodles, jadoh ( cultural food) and some more things like casual fast food . You also need to pay parking charges if you come with a taxi or private vehicles

It's my second visit to Laitlum canyons. A lot has changed there. The roads are far better and there are restaurants opened on the way. You can drop by for lunch or brunch. By evening those shops are closed. The views are breathtaking everytime I visit. The peak seasons are bit crowded but one can always find a corner to sit down and enjoy the view.

The Laitlum canyon is a beautiful range of ridges near Shillong. Once you park your vehicle in the parking lot, you are tempted to go to the nearest view point from there, and the views from there are good but the really beautiful views are actually at a walking distance of 5-7 minutes further ahead from there. You can easily spend as much time as you want just sitting on the grass and enjoying the beautiful views. There are many small vendors there selling corn and other items.

If you are in Shillong and you are wondering where to go so that it's peaceful and not very far from Shillong as well then visit Laitlum. This place might give you the "Scottish" vibe. The canyon is majestic with winds that would carry you if they could. What a beauty!

Laitlum Canyon is a hidden gem tucked away in the hills of Shillong, India. If you're looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the place to be. The canyon is surrounded by lush green forests and offers breathtaking views of the valley below. The journey to Laitlum Canyon is an adventure in itself, as you'll have to navigate winding roads that lead up to the canyon. But once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views that will take your breath away. The canyon is located at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, which makes it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. The canyon is known for its natural rock formations that have been eroded by wind and water over thousands of years. The rocks form a series of steps that lead down to the valley below, offering an adrenaline-inducing hiking experience. As you make your way down the steps, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. One of the best things about Laitlum Canyon is that it's not as crowded as some of the other tourist attractions in the area. This means you can enjoy the natural beauty of the place without feeling overwhelmed by crowds of people. The peaceful surroundings make it a great place to meditate, relax, and recharge your batteries. I highly recommend Laitlum Canyon to anyone looking for a unique and peaceful place to hang out close to nature with scenic views. It's an ideal destination for nature lovers, photographers, hikers, and anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Awesome view overall, but during our visit the whole place is covered with mists and clouds so we could not see many parts clearly. Still the greenery, the hills and villages at the down area looks stunning from above. A perfect family hangout place

Standing on the edge of Laithlum Grand Canyon in Meghalaya felt like entering a surreal painting crafted by nature itself. The crisp mountain air mixed with the earthy aroma of the surrounding vegetation as I gazed into the vastness of the canyon. The layers of green hills unfolded beneath me, creating a mesmerizing tapestry of nature's beauty. The sheer cliffs and the play of sunlight on the rugged terrain painted a picture that transcended words, leaving me in awe of Meghalaya's untamed splendor. Laithlum is not just a viewpoint; it's an immersive journey into the raw poetry of the earth.

Such a beautiful place. A must visit for everyone. Take your time to enjoy the place, sit there in the midst of clouds. It's an amazing experience. There are multiple local shops who sells packaged food and cooked food too. Corns and tea are available. Nowadays you'll have to pay a car, bike parking fee. It's a nominal charge.

We went here seeing the beautiful photos, but unfortunately it was all cloudy and foggy when we visited. Nevertheless, the place was still beautiful with its greenery and serenity. One can still enjoy sitting and relaxing in the lush pastures with dear ones!

My fifth time here and the first time experiencing during sunset. It’s just on another level. If your are in Shillong, take your time to arrange your visit here around 4.30 - 5.00 PM. You will be happy to have done that and experience MAGIC.

One of the most beautiful places in Meghalaya and quite near to Shillong. The place is having breathtaking beauty. During May till October, mostly there will be clouds. There will be interplay of clouds and sun, which makes it awesome. When clouds go away, you can see the depth of canyon which looks very beautiful. When wind and clouds come the view is very different and you get the feeling of real Meghalaya i.e. the abode of clouds. Please remember to take good umbrella, wind resistant cloths and winter cloths for kids.

The experience is hard to describe and one to experience. One second there is zero visibility and the next you can see it all. Also, the drive to the viewpoint is gorgeous in itself. We witnessed a stunning sunset while coming back.
