The hostel owner was very nice and incredibly helpful but the hostel itself lacked security and wasn't the cleanest. The doors to the rooms did not lock and the staff did not enforce the quiet hours so it was quite loud in the common area right next to the rooms. It also doesn't have much of a hostel atmosphere for meeting people if you're a solo traveler. If you can get past these things, it's in a great location and is a very inexpensive hostel.

Went two years ago for 2 weeks in my first trip alone and it was horrible. They said you couldn't make any noise from 10 pm but all the staff did was make noise with other people staying there. The WC didn't even work properly. The hostel smell really bad just going in and it was really dirty all the time. One of the beds in my room had a bubblegum in the frame. They didn't even wash the sheets for two weeks. I guess it's okay since is really cheap but I'm not going back at all. I don't recommend it, less if you suffer from OCD. At least it was really close to the shopping district in Hongdae.

Great hostel. Really nice and helpful volunteers. Great common areas and full kitchen. Beds comfy and with curtains. Fresh towels every day for free. Good location.

Cheap price but very bad service staff, busy, busy, not locking the room door in any case We stayed in a room for 3 people. But not to lock the door at all times. no privacy Late at night, there will be staff sitting in front of the room. There is no female shower room. shower with men There are 2 shower rooms.

The staff were really friendly and informative upon check in. The location is around 10 minutes walk from the main Hongdae street and around 5 minutes from the Hongik University Metro Station. It is also on a quiet road and very peaceful. There is a bench to sit outside and also spaces inside communal areas to sit. Cooking facilities, hot and cold water refills and soap, shampoo provided in the shower rooms. The rooms are basic, beds aren’t the comfiest but the aircon works well and there are curtains for privacy. Would definitely recommend if looking for a budget friendly old school hostel without the pretentious atmosphere.

A great value hostel with all the amenities one could need. Not a flash packer or party hostel just a great all rounder. Having explored most districts of Seoul. I am glad we chose to stay in the Hongdae area. Such a cool vibe.

Reasonable hostel price with 10mins walking distance to the nearest subway. Many restaurants and convenient stores around. Friendly staff and easy check in and check out. The shortcomings as follow: the wooden bed frame was not comfortable as it was not even or flat. Hard to sleep well. Requested additional blanket as the given one was too small and not able to keep the body warm especially during winter. Thicker blanket or quilt is preferred. Will be good if room heater is provided too. The 8-bed dorm was not spacious and cozy for tenants with large baggage. Will be good if a space is to be allocated for large items. And lastly the shower washroom was not very hygienic. Hope the staff will look into these matters.

Very congested. Bed was comfortable and that’s all about it. One shower+toilet in one floor and that too unisex. Very small and not very clean. The reception, lounge, early baggage drop are is all same. Very smallish kitchen. The bathroom at the first floor is unisex too and the shower cubicle is separated by just a curtain While sleeping one can hear people talk outside the gate Bad hostel overall

Amazing place to stay! I can’t fault my stay at Birdsnest! It was amazing, a very homely place with friendly staff that will try help you with any problem. The place itself is super clean and not too big so you don’t feel intimidated. It’s in the perfect location too with 100s of places to eat and drink within a 5-10 minute walk.

We had a comfortable stay in a private room at the Birdsnest hostel. Everyone was friendly and the amenities were useful. The location was great! It was so easy to set off and explore, then come back and chat with fellow travelers or locals who stop by.

I wasn't going to leave a review for this one as it was not a negative nor positive experience. However the staff has a very annoying habit of walking into the dorms and turning lights full on after hours, like 10pm, or way past midnight, or before check out time in the morning and just talk loud in the room. A lot of us are coming from or going to the airport with exhausting long haul flights. You are a hostel, you should respect our sleep, that's what we pay for. Appart from that the beds were comfortable and the rooms very clean, however there were only two showers for the entire hostel. Location is great.

Great party hostel and clean. Maybe just during our stay but people were coming to bed from 4-7am and turning the lights on every time so had to use mask and ear plugs. Great for the price and a fun area with tons of food and bars.

I have to say I cannot recommend this hostel based on their rigid booking policies. I was excited to stay here, but I got COVID a few days before my 11 night stay. I asked if there any partial refund possible because of my medical emergency, and I was denied so I still had to pay for the entire 11 night stay. I would say don’t book in advance in case some emergency happens because they’ll take your money without caring

This hostel is great. I have been to alot of guesthouses and this is my newest favorite. The sleeping rooms are quite small in size but has 2 common rooms to hang out in so it's easy to meet new people as a solo traveler and make friends. It's located very close to Hongdae which is one of the most popular party areas in Seoul and in the area called Yeonnam which is an area that just becomes more and more popular everytime i visit Korea. One of the sashimi resturants just around the corner was so busy during weekends that they had a long que from 11am to 11pm. The staff is very friendly and helpful with anything that you could need help with to have a great stay in Korea. Also i saw someone writing about them not enforcing the quiet time which is 10pm. Of course it's hard for them to make sure that everyone is quiet at all times but they do their best to have it quiet. I myself got told off when me and the friends i made here came back for a quick re-group before going out partying again.

This is such a clean and social hostel. Everyday there was an opportunity to meet new people or go out with the staff on an adventure throughout Hongdae. Jeff is the best host. Definitely the best hostel I stayed at in Seoul!!!

There was bad comments about the dirty restroom and showers about this hostel in Booking and Google Maps. I stayed in the hostel for 4 days and probably, they listen and become more careful about it. I didn't have any problems with the cleaning stuff. The only missing thing is the lights near to your bed. There is no light...

Owner was very very friendly and helpful in every way possible🙏🏻 Receptionist was helpful and made sure that there were no extra noice at night, which was very good! They really appreciate others sleep here👍🏻 Space is very clean and cozy. Met many tourists in the hostel and the atmosphere was very warm, like being at home👌🏻 5/5, absolutely coming back🌞

Central location, easy to reach from the airport by metro. The staff is nice and makes you feel welcomed. They have free coffee, tea and rice in the communal kitchen, also Laundry service, Wi-Fi, TV and lockers for your precious belongings. Nice experience, very recommended!

Nice place to stay in Seoul ! If you need some peace, the place is calm and quiet and will be perfect for you. It's more a family Guesthouse than a crowded hostel. Staff is nice and available and rooms/showers/kitchen have all you need. I recommend ! Bonus : free rice for breakfast :D

It was my 1st time going to Seoul alone and I need to stay somewhere that wouldn't be too expensive for a solo traveler. Birdsnest Hostel was a great place to stay for the price and the experience. Female staff was super friendly and kind, they were able to give me suggestions to do thing near by and how to get to certain locations. They only down side of staying here was that the upstairs showers did not have hot water. People frequently take showers and while I stayed at the Hostel the hot water issue wasn't fixed.... and I stayed there for a week.

Well priced rooms, located near great shopping and food. Few minutes walk to the bus stations and subway. Awesome staff/managers. Wish I could stay longer. I fully recommend bird'snest to anyone looking for a laid-back place to stay in Seoul and meet great new people

The place is really nice!!! The guesthouse is very clean, located in quite area but it’s 10 min walking to all of the entertainments. Also staff is very friendly and atmosphere is cool and chilling:)
