we love the buffet and expecially when they make special event presented indonesian food. The room is very nice expecially the Suite one with beach view

I had one of the best time in Novotel Dakar, everything was just perfect, the staffs are so polite, friendly and welcoming. Food was great. Another fun part was there lounge, everynight there was a special program.

I stayed here while participating in a two day workshop. My room was clean and functional, with a great view. The facilities were practical. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially Abdou Karim.

The ladies at the front desk has serious communication problems. Cannot get any proper answer from their mouth. You ask a question, they look up to the roof and wonder for 60 seconds and dont say anything at the end. No manners, no knowledge, zero communication skills, lack of smiling. You put a 12 year old at that desk %100 you get a better service, havent seen anywhere worse than this weird hotel!!! I mean really weird, customer service isn't rocket science..

Maty is very good at her work and she attends to customers with a heart full of smiles. I recommend her for supervisory role.

All my stays in Dakar, I spend them at Novotel. The beds are very comfortable and the staff, welcoming. Special thanks to Karim for her good mood and availability.

Overall it was a good stay for a week during a workshop. The room is fine, bed is comfortable but I got the last of the corridor which was a little noisy. They also have separate rooms for toilet and sink/shower and the shower room has kind of a bizarre glass that lets you see inside. Staff service was mixed with some rude personnel and very slow reposition in the buffet. The waiters also take everything out of the table as soon as they see an opportunity, many times before you had finished. The space for the events were great.

Maty is very nice, good and respectful in her line of duty. She has patience for every concern. People like her encourages people to always come around.

Upon check in the hotel charged 100 EUR as a deposit against expenses, promising to refund it upon check out. I did not incur any expense, in addition to the room, which was charged separately. At check-out, I was told that the charge was refunded but it was not. A few days later I noticed that the charge was not refunded. After nearly 2 months, despite countless emails, the hotel has NOT refunded the charge, despite admitting that it should be refunded. The only word that I can find for such behavior is fraud. Novotel Dakar seriously damages the brand name of Novotel and Accor. UPDATE: The response by the hotel is utterly ridiculous. After 70 days, they have not refunded in full what they should never have charged to start with. Instead of refunding 100 EUR, they just refunded 75 EUR 70 days late, refusing to pay anything for my inconvenience and their incompetence.

Excellent facility. Awesome hospitality, though majorly french speaking, majority of the staff will go a great mile in understanding english and helping when in need of assistance. Great view of the Ocean from the top floors as well. Highly recommended.

I was there for the Sunday kids brunch, but was very disappointed. We got there at 11:45am and by the time we were seated, half of the food was already finished for a brunch that started at 11:30am and supposed to end at 5pm. We were expecting refills but we just ended up eating whatever was left. They were supposed to give snacks to kids at 4pm, but instead they were putting the chairs away for people to leave. The only fun part was the horse back riding for the little ones. The lack of organization really needs to be addressed.

I attended their Kids Sunday brunch with the family. For a brunch that was supposed to end at 5 or 6pm, half of the food was finished by noon. We were expecting more food, but they only refill few choices. The pool and the horseback riding was fun for the kids. But for a brunch this price, there is supposed to be more options and more food for all the guests that attended. The 4pm snacks were served to few guests and the rest of us had to leave since they were putting the chairs. I was expecting more since it's a renowned Hotel, but ended being very disappointed.

It’s in downtown Dakar. Great for business meetings. The hotel was recently refurbished. The breakfast is quite decent. Hotel needs to attend to basics like soap and extra towels in the room.

A and WiFi worked without problem, staff v friendly and helpful. Good pool, but no gym so 4 stars for services

The rooms are spacious but with tiny Windows, I learnt this is the norm. The room service was okay but I missed soap and shampoo a few days. Breakfast is great. There's no gym on site but you can jog along the beach in the early morning.

The hotel is in a safe location and has nice views and a nice bar/restaurant and pool. However, for the price of the hotel, the rooms are extremely underwhelming. The air conditioning doesn't work well, the bathroom is very dated, and the hallways smell like mold.

Small rooms, humid, windows don't open and airco smells. No gym. You have to be early at breakfast because 1hr before closing there's hardly any food left. Can be noisy in the weekend with loud live music. Quite far, like min 1hr from the airport. At least the staff is friendly.

Had booked and paid for a room at this Novotel hotel. Arrived around midnight and was told that the hotel was full, no rooms available, despite showing proof that I had booked and paid for a room at the hotel. I was then told to go to the ibis hotel next door and book a room there in the middle of the night! Really really bad service! Then left and went back to the desk again and the person then called the manager, spoke in French, got off the phone and then said no problem, I’ll give you a room. Was finally then given a room around 1am to go to after all that arguing. Wouldn’t recommend.

Very nice hotel, it’s a home away from home experience. It’s really nice being here and I’m really enjoying my stay at Novotel hotel Dakar. Staff are friendly and helpful! Maty and the rest of the team are top notch !!!!👍 House keeper are also on top of their job and very helpful.

The hotel was, well, ok…. However, one staff stood out. Her name is Lessong and she was very exceptional with her customer service. She was welcoming, warm and problem solving

Although the hotel is downtown next to the international seaport, it takes (if you are lucky) around 90 minutes from the airport to the hotel. The staff mainly speaks French and some basic English. Don't expect too much variety on the buffets, regardless if you consider the breakfast or dinner. The rooms are clean for "African standards" and the location seams to be safe. Occasionally electric blackouts for a few seconds are uneventful.

Its is Nice Hotel and one of the receptionist her name Sourayah, the best thing happened to me, she knows how to handle foreign customer, polite, kind and have good behavior among other reception workers, I have been here for 5 days I was talking to her the whole time. She is an asset for the Hotel put her the place she deserves.

Great place to relax, eat and even work. Clean rooms and bathrooms. As soon as you walk in you feel as you made a good choice of staying there. It’s a very clean place and good vibes! The staff is very nice and welcoming .

You cannot have a better option in Dakar at the same price. I have benefited a FIRST class service from SAFIETOU. Amazing place, is full of energy, life and fun. Make sure you get the sea view room ;)

Service at the bar way too concern that you will run without paying even thou you are their own guest, they have your credit card on record, and the credit card was charged an additional amount to include some of your food/drinks (not to mention I was with my 69 years old father who cannot run too fast ;)They don’t allow you to finish your drink or phone conversation without interrupting and asking to sign receipts - really annoying. At the same time no one bothered to clean my table for a few hours after dinner was finished.

The room is correct. For the price we paid, we had everything we're expecting of a hotel room-- coffee, tea, comfortable bed, a shower with a working heater, and bonus is the nice view from our room. The breakfast was excellent!! For heavy eaters, they also serve rice and fish/meat and it's perfect if you're the brunch kind of person or if you have a long day ahead of you. 5 stars for the bacon which is very expensive in Dakar and quite hard to find :p

The attendants or waiters at the N-Lounge Bar of this hotel made my stay here the most lovely. Frederic, Helene Patricia, Edouard, Kane, Mabeye, Adja and Rose. They go all the way to ensure my personalized needs for food and drinks are met which made me happy to stay. I will recommend staying at this hotel and meeting the lovely attendants listed above.

the rooms are tidy enough. the hotel itself seems to be old. a specific smell is felt in the rooms. In the rooms quite dark during the day, due to the layout of the room. There is no balcony, but there is a nice view through the window.

I have been in 2 stars hotels with better rooms. The staff is good and curious. The breakfast is average. For over 200 USD a night this place is not worth it .

Air conditioning is sub par beyond belief. My room was very warm and the hotel told me “it’s hot in Sengal”. The AC is not something you should count on.

Great experience! The hotel made a “dodo room” available for kids to allow adults enjoy a live band concert without going back and forth to hotel rooms.
