Lots of brokers and high risk for getting pick-pocketted. You need a guide for a small market crammed into a small area. Whatever price you are told, divide it by 4 as your starting point for negotiating, or you will be ripped off.

Great for finding fabric and a tailor , for wax fabric you should pay ~1,000/metre (September 2023) and you can buy it in 6 or 12 yards. 6 yards is more than enough for a shirt and shorts combo! The tailor should cost you ~5,000/piece (pending pockets, elastic waist, etc.)

You will definitely need a guide who speaks french and wolof to negotiate prices to prevent overpaying,(thanks to Linda our guide she's the best). There are lots of clothing, sandals, traditional prints and artwork. Also, various places to eat in the sandaga market.

Good local Market to buy all types of stuff.

  • 2/5 Rachid M. 11 months ago on Google • 52 reviews
This market is good to buy local souvenirs but a bit expensive, and some sellers might want to sell you things for triple or x4 times the original price, so be well aware to negociate carefully. However, there is another great market called HLM where you can find out about everything.

The items for sale a really lovely! Bags galore, sunglasses, dresses, home decor, etc. Unfortunately, the sellers are SO relentless and pushy. As soon as you show any sort of interest they will not stop offering you other items, keep pressing on how amazing the items are and inflate the prices by about 500%. My dad is from Senegal, so they kinda listened to him and left us alone after he kept insisting. Once my sister and I returned on our own though, we were followed around the entire market by men, insisting we should follow them to their stands and shops, after us multiple times refusing to follow and demanding to be left alone. I ended up getting 1 items even though I wanted to buy way more because I was just so uncomfortable and couldn't stand being near the market anymore. We never felt unsafe! It was just frustrating, if you have strong nerves, patience and can (and like to) haggle, you'll have a great time!!

Buzzing market in the commercial hub of Dakar, Senegal. Was more organised than some of the other markets. With a wide variety of items traded.

Be prepared for the hawkers but a great market with lots of local crafts and clothes. Everything you could think of is there. Our hotel recommended this market as the best in Dakar and it was great.

Find there everything from electronic repairs to clothing or food joints. If with car, and not planned where to park, think again before going there 🙂

This market is not marked correctly on the map FYI. It seems to be several blocks away. Many of the “guides” are rude and pushy, however, if you are able to escape your guide, there are many things to see. Vendors are generally quite nice. Near here is a street fruit market that smells heavenly with many fresh fruits. Also there is a flower market and house plants for sale. Take your time. Do not be rushed by a “guide” and take in the sights!

MAX Khhhiiuùgfghyg was a major factor in its efforts to make the best selling product for the UK market and to the company it is now offering a range in its range and the price of a home in the 8th and third quarter of this year has risen to a record low after it emerged that the UK is in the top four of a number one million and more ❤✂️ than it was in 6th is the most expensive car will have to rise

The place was nice crowded with people and cars. But have the to be mindful because the drivers hardly give a way to the people trying to cross the road.
