I simply love this place. Spacious suites where almost everything works the way they are expected to work. The hot water's hot, the A/C is called, the Wifi has internet. In most African hotels this can't be taken for granted. I love their beds fit for several kings. Breakfast is simple, yet elegant and carefully served. Location is good and the garden is a calm peaceful island in the hustle and bustle of Dakar.

Solid hotel. Clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was tasty. They have a spread but you can ask for eggs as well. WiFi worked well. Location was good, short walk to some beachfront bars/restaurants. Price was reasonable. Recommended!

It's is a great place to stay. A very good business hotel. The grassy area is calm and safe. The staff is so lovely and professional They got suitable facilities in their rooms which are wider than some 4* hotels. I enjoyed the meals and the continental breakfast in front of the pool and the garden. I recommend you guys to call on this guest house.

tldr: Tranquil, comfortable, safe, friendly oasis in the heart of Dakar's embassy district. Great breakfast, excellent Wi-Fi, comfy beds, friendliest staff. I needed to spend about a week in Dakar on short notice (early July 2022). After some online research (and a failed reservation via booking.com) I reserved six nights at La Résidence through their website. My arrival was welcoming and friendly, checking in with no problems. Final payment by visa credit card was no problem. I found my room (#14) to be very comfortable, with the four-poster bed - draped in full-sized mosquitoe net I did not need to use - being more than adequate for spreading out on, and the firm yet yielding mattress good for hours of lounging. The bathroom was perfectly adequate, with hot water available when needed. The shower's water pressure did drop slightly through the day, but was always sufficient for a comfortable shower. Although the hotel has notices about possible electricity disruptions I had no such, and the airconditioner maintained my room at a comfortable temperature all day and night I enjoyed breakfast on the verandah every morning. Their homemade, unsweetened and unflavored yoghurt was my favourite, with the filter coffee, croissants and fresh fruits, coupled with delicious 2-egg omelette, keeping me going through the day. Foregoing the short walk to the numerous nearby eateries, I enjoyed dinners off the hotel's menu. These were all tasty and speedily prepared. Their shrimp salad with grapefruit and green olives was especially tastebud tantalising. Despite some other remarks about "spotty Wi-Fi" I had no such problems - the connection and speed was even better than what I have at home! The staff were always friendly, and made up for my lack of French with their service-oriented attitudes. Beaming smiles and genuine "bonjour" greetings made my mornings. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, with my main aim - to relax - being well met. Hope to be back sometime!

Located in a quiet location, with access to many bars and restaurants, we highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable, with a big bed and a large bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast is a simple omelet and small buffet affair but adequate for most people. Not so good if you're vegan like my partner. The staff are fabulous. Be it from arranging an airport pickup, to checking us in at 3am, to giving advice on the local area. The rooms are also kept immaculately clean on a daily basis. A definite thumbs up.

La residence is amazing especially of you are staying in Dakar for more than just a few days.i absolutely love that place. I lived there for almost 3 months in 2016.its very homey and the staff are attentive,customer service is great.the chefs cooking is amazing. I still go there for dinners sometimes.Also it's less than a 2 min walk from the beach and it's close to a lot of restaurants.then it's about a 6 minute drive from the airport.i love la residence.

Feels like home away from home. Small hotel, efficient staff. Quiet neighbourhood. Toilets are clean and basic, spacious rooms and food on offer is good value for money.

From the moment I arrived at the reception, everything was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly, making me feel warmly welcomed. The rooms are clean and the property is beautiful, well maintained , peaceful & quiet. Plus, the location couldn't have been better - just a short stroll to the beach and surrounded by amazing beachfront bars, restaurants, cafés, and lounges. I want to give a special shout-out to Faye and Alassane, the incredible receptionists who were always there to answer my questions and ensure that I had the most comfortable and awesome stay possible.

Alltogether a small, quiet and very friendly place. Top staff and services. A clear recommendation in Dakar.

I have been at Residence Dakar for 45 days between June and August 2022. The first time in the largest suite and then a standard bedroom. In both cases the accommodation has been excellent. Large rooms, very clean and quite, the venue is nice since it is close by ‘la corniche’ and closeby restaurant. If I have to come back to Dakar I will definitely book again.

Clean comfortable rooms, great breakfast, very welcoming staff. Within walking distance of many restaurants and beaches. Would definitely recommend as an excellent hotel choice for Dakar!

I can really recommend this hotel! The staff is super friendly, everything is very clean, breakfast was delicious (baguette, croissant, fresh fruit, you can choose how you want your eggs, juice, ...) and dinner too (the chef is excellent!)! The hotel is quiet, the pool area is very nice (the palm trees attract a lot of different birds) and it is within walking distance to the ocean.

AMAZING hotel with beautiful rooms , great staff & unbeatable location in the almadies neighborhood. I visit Dakar every year with a group and La residence is my go-to hotel because of the convenience it offers to all the great restaurants within walking distance, the staff is incredible : people like Fatou & Diarra do everything to make sure your stay is pleasurable. There’s a young lady and Young man at the reception always smiling and ready to help ! The security agent also is always happy to help with our bags ....the rooms are spacious, the breakfast is good so if you’re reading this—-take our word for it and just book this hotel !

It is a proper 4 star hotel but has the familiar feel of an b&b which makes this place interesting and a good place to stay.

Great stay recently, not a single complaint, very clean, friendly staff, yummy breakfast and great location for local dining, shopping, exploring. Highly recommended.

I feel truly lucky to have landed upon La Residence for my stay in Dakar! Everything was great from my reception, when I arrived early and the staff were welcoming and accommodated me for an early check in. The breakfast was good and fresh each day. All the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The room is spacious and clean, and the property is beautiful, well maintained , peaceful & quiet. I didn’t know this while booking but it’s located in a great neighborhood, you are minutes by foot to the beach and to some of the best beachfront bars, restaurants, cafés, lounges, and beach clubs. Faye and Alassane who are receptionists at the hotel are incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and they were helpful in answering all of my questions and ensuring a comfortable stay and awesome experience in Dakar. I will absolutely be back to Senegal— a beautiful and dynamic country. I will stay at La Residence upon my return and recommend it to everyone I know who plans to visit— without hesitation.

We were recommended this hotel by my son, living in Dakar for work. It is beautiful, clean and has a friendly staff. Each morning there was a delicious breakfast waiting for us (ask for scrambled eggs, yum) with breads, juices, jams, croissants, butter, and very good coffee. Although I've lived in a number of places in Africa I felt very safe and happy here.

Staff was very nice throughout our long stay and accommodated every need of ours. The rooms were always cleaned every day and it was all around a great experience.
