I stayed for 6 nights at Residence Mamoune. Overall my stay was nice but unfortunately I had to pay for breakfasts that my wife did not take. The people working in the restaurant were informed that she was not taking breakfast at some point but did not inform the invoicing service at the hotel desk. It looks like signing after breakfast has no purpose since the desk informed me that I should have informed them that she was not taking breakfast. At the end, the person at the desk insisted that I must pay for something that I did not benefit. It was very frustrating but I paid. However I informed them to improve the communication between their services to avoid such unpleasant situations in the future.

Popular with NGOs and the more budget minded, this hotel is still learning about customer service. While the staff are invariably friendly and well-intentioned, action on problems with rooms (and there are many) can take several days. The hotel has several meeting rooms and hosts many conferences. The restaurant only send a buffet, no menu, and the expensive breakfast is a waste of money.

Nice hotel, rooms are good but without any view (facing walls etc). When I was there (jan 2017) they were still building the top floor and adding an elevator.

The hotel is situated in a busy part of Dakar but close to the airport so access is easy. It is not in the upmarket part of Dakar and I would not recommend for business travellers. The food is limited and repetitive. I noticed some of the items for dinner "repurposed" for breakfast. The rooms are spacious but very basic at times less than basic. I did not have shower curtains. There are no English channels but the Wifi is good so access your Netflix account. Staff are friendly. It would not be at the top of my recommendations for a stay in Dakar.
