Beautiful space to have a coffee or something from the restaurant. It’s quiet, very good wifi (50+mbps), and the staff are very welcoming. We stopped here for some coffee and juice as we were sightseeing and close by at marche sandaga. They have cultural events and a very nice library where many people come to work on their laptops. The garden is very calm and peaceful. Highly recommend a visit here to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The day we visited they were advertising a night karaoke party. They also have advertisements for comedians visiting the cultural center and other performances.

Th food is good bit the portions are rather small. Prices range from 4000-20000 per plate. Its hard to find - you have to go trough the security check to get in. But the vibe in there is nice with cool music and unfortunately uncomfortable chairs

Monique Ngo Mayag and Irene Gaouda went to the Dakar French Institute that evening, to watch a two-hour movie titled: "Petit Pays", directed by Éric Barbier. The #film is adapted from the book of Gaël Faye, a #French_Rwandan novelist, singer, actor, born in Bujumbura (Burundi) of a french father and a rwandan mother. Gabriel is the main character in the film. He was around ten years old at the beginning of the year 1993 and was living a happy childhood with plenty of friends in the comfortable district of #Kinanira, in #Bujumbura with his father, a French expatriate entrepreneur, his mother of Rwandan origin and his younger sister named Ana. But his happiness was threatened by the geopolitical realities of Burundi. In the meantime, his parents undertook a separation process and Gabriel and Ana were forced to live between two homes. The young man witnessed day by day the deterioration of the geopolitical situation in the region and the dislocation of many families. When began the burundan #civil_war followed by the genocide in Rwanda, Gabriel and his family got upset, looking for means to escape, but was there a way out? Going to Rwanda was a real challenge. Staying in Bujumbura was just unconceivable given the "mix " nature of the family and huge tension in the country... Also in the film... Jean-Paul Rouve playing (Michel Chappaz) Isabelle Kabano (Yvonne Chappaz) Djibril Vancoppenolle ( Gabriel Chappaz) Dayla De Medina (Ana Chappaz).... The French Institute of Dakar has welcomed many other movies in the past. That day was calm and the cinema hall was not overcrowed. Social distancing was respected and people were encouraged to keep on their masks #StopCovid19 #SaveLives😷😷😷🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Lovely restaurant with high quality dishes. Good variety of concerts and other events, attended by a mixture of expats and Senegalese.

Having absolutely no draw to what’s cool or not, I couldn’t be sure, if this place was the hipster magnet in Dakar or if this was more an imported culture on show. Lots of security on the way in, stopped for a coffee as everyone raved about it and you could indeed draw Partey end with cool hangouts in Melbourne or Amsterdam for example… if of course you forget about the security. Staff were fine, prices same as back home. Nothing special, but if you wanna feel close to home, this Should suffice.

This place has nice things to offer. Cinema and concert during the week. We had the chance to watch the football there! Shop with vinyl and other interesting item. A library is a providing great choice of books. A restaurant with good food if you want to eat something. Also, there is a biiiiiiig tree in the middle. (Don't remember the name) 😅 Anyway, worth to stop by.

The ideal place to relax, work, read or do research in the media library. If you're hungry, there's a restaurant

The toilets do not seem to be maintained on weekends. The entire sideboard needs to be better protected against flies.

Beautiful facility with a cinema, classrooms, and a restaurant. We ate several African dishes, and all were delicious. Do try the baobob juice drink.

The security officers were rude and somehow sleepy. The restaurant took 40mins more or less for burger and fries. Expensive and food is not good. I don't recommend. Never going back.

A huge waou!! The place, people, workers are awesome, and the passion About arts are incredible so shoutout to every artist from there! Also the support and encouragement of the artists is to be commended. This place lives up to what it is "a cultural center". I past a wonderful moments there, bless and love

A well disguised restaurant. If I had not gone with someone in the know I would not have realised it was open in the evening. It has good food and a good atmosphere. A nice spot for a romantic dinner.

Beautiful oases in the centre of city Dakar. Not only for French courses and library. Famous for cultural events, exhebitions, concerts, theater and modern dance. The restaurant is excellent. They offer specials, buffets and brunch.
