I ordered the Taouk and an “Eggplant Kebab” Eggplant Kebab says: (Hummus, eggplant, tomatoes, onions, parsley, pickles) So… Chicken kebab was exactly as expected. Excellent. I was also expecting a veggie kebab featuring eggplant but it turned out to be a kafta kebab—seasoned ground beef and lamb cooked on a skewer and potatoes—in addition to the above ingredients. And it was mostly kafta. The eggplant was simply mutabal (a mashed roasted eggplant dip) as a spread. It was delicious, but vegans beware. 😂

Le Taouk is a restaurant that has to be one of the best that downtown has to offer! Located in Plateau, this Labanese restaurant is a favorite because of its portion sizes, prices, and ofcourse the taste of its food. My go-to dish at Taouk has to be the Taouk platter 500g (photo provided,) because it is worth 10,000 FCFA as of May 23' and for that price the portion is amazing, perfect for 2 people. The Saj, on the other hand, is a good choice if you want to have something light and it is like a Quesadilla. The only problem is the small seating arrangement, but people usually tend to take-away their food. But except for the small area and quite ironically, Le Taouk's ambience is also one of its best aspects. The open cooking station, which is visible to you as you eat, and the rustic brick-and-mortar aesthetic, adds to the vibe of the restaurant.

When I asked about my food the woman behind the counter got an attitude with me. If you are a foreigner stay far away from this place. I have also been told there has been several people that has eaten at this place and gotten sick. This will be the last time I ever eat at this place.

I've been here three times now. The dishes that are supposed to be cold are warm, while the warm dishes are cold. The service is sub par in every sense of the word. Very uninterested and all three times I had to return to get the other half of my order. Also takes long in general. I had go wait for 20 minutes before they were able to take the dish I wanted out of the window and give it to me. It was literally right there! Not one to write reviews, but the rating for this place simply seems to be inaccurate based on my experiences.

Le Taouk was one of the best discoveries we’ve made in Dakar. While the food is not cheap- it is VERY high quality with friendly service. We come here once per week now and will continue to eat at this wonderful restaurant.

I dropped in fairly late on a Sunday evening and the place was buzzing. I was slightly wary of the pre-prepared salads but I was pleasantly surprised: the salads had been very recently prepared and their dressing were out of this world! Their kebab menu is extensive and the overall quality of their food extraordinarlily high and their culinary skills are formidable... ...straight to the top of my list for convenience eating in Dakar! (The only area for improvement is ventilation of the restaurant: the grills generate vast amounts of heat and one's constantly aware of being in close confines - not very pandemic friendly....)

I like the transparent concept (you can see the cooks at work), fresh ingredients displayed here and there and the loft like architecture. Not many seats so preferable for take-out. Food is nice and fairly affordable for the most part Nice place to try Lebanese food

Quite a nice place. Affordable too... it's similar to L'orientale which I personally think is better in terms of taste...

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Dakar! The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers and cooks are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat Lebanese food in Dakar!

I can’t say the food is not good. It’s decent, however they have their days. Today it took forever to get the food and the place was hot.

We went here for some food, the place has no AC and on a hot summer day it is not nice to be inside this place, I ordered a Reine pizza it was not great, too much cheese and the cheese tasted a bit off but it might have been the type of cheese. Their cold drink prices are highly inflated at 1500cfa per 330ml drink. More than 4 times the price in a supermarket. I will not visit this place again.

I have ordered several times there and the delivery service was fast, food good too. Today I decided to go to the restaurant for the first time. The food was still good. However , the guy who served me was not wearing gloves nor a mask and I had to clean the table as well, it was sticky and there were crumbles. The drinks were not fresh either. That was a bit of a dealbreaker for me. There is room for improvement on hygiene and COVID precautionary measures .

😠 Horrible service and not so good food. Waitresses are lazy and rude, and meat served is not always fresh. Quality of restaurant has dropped with new ownership as current owner focuses more on decor and marketing. Only good thing about this restaurant is the location.

😠 I came in, ordered a coffee and a brioche. I'm not Senegalese; I'm a foreign visitor, and last I retrieved money from the bank, I could only get round numbers, no change. I didn't have 1,100 CFAs, only 1,500, so when I ordered, they told me they would have to send someone to get change. This was fin...
